Agree with that. My sole hope at this point is that Fandaniel's backstory adds some depth to keep me interested, because Zenos puts me to into a deep sleep, whether he is upbeat, or not, whether they tack on some backstory for him, or not.

Dunno it’s his iconic look so can’t decide either way tbh.
Only if it came with the hair.
How would you propose that the game's development be funded without those willing to purchase optional items?
Would you prefer to see the cost of a monthly subscription rise to compensate? Or perhaps pay more for each expansion pack? Maybe content patches themselves can be paid micro expansions instead?
I agree with this entirely, I'd love to have him back in any form; preferably in the flesh but even an encounter with his ghost in some way would be better than never seeing him again. He still owes us a long talk, after all, he promised!
While the second short story focusing on him does more or less confirm he died 'for real', it also shows that he has the power to hit pause on that, look back and even effect the living world from beyond his 'death', so it wouldn't be totally crazy for him to be able to claw his way back out as well.
There's also the matter of there being kind of a lot of Solus clones left behind on the Source, so it's not like he wouldn't have a vessel waiting if he *did* find a way back. It could be really fun(ny) if for a couple of levels of EW we kept running into different rumors like: 'he looks awfully like a young Emperor Solus' , 'maybe Solus had an affair late in life and kept it quiet that there was a kid', etc, about whoever is leading whatever's left untempered of Garlemald. When we finally run into him it's literally Mr. Theater-enthusiast Emet hamming it up pretending to be his own bastard son, and probably opening the conversation with 'The rumors of my demise were greatly exaggerated'.
It doesn't bother me as I'm lucky enough to have a disposable income.
Furthermore, just like how supermarkets sell products that are luxuries rather than necessities so, too, do many other businesses.
It's less about making excuses and more so acknowledging the reality of the situation.
Again, I ask, out of curiosity how would you propose that Square Enix make more money to pay for the game's ongoing development when development costs have gone up over the years whereas the subscription fee has remained the same?
The reality is that I'm already paying for a product. Every month. That's the reason MMOs used to have subscriptions. Then we got F2P, fair. Now we have both in this game.
No.
I'm against that out of principle. If you can't sustain your business you have no reason being in business in the first place. Not my problem.
And some people are literally begging SE to allow them to throw money at them. If it means so much to people, why not start a charity for SE? I mean, this poor, poor indie company certainly needs all the help it can get. x)
In all honesty, I don't expect much resistance from people on the forums. We all wouldn't be here if we weren't 'fans' of some description. What I do dislike, though, is the amount of lack in critical thinking. Do you honestly think SE would one day go 'Roight, this month we made more than enough money.' Of course not. Money making isn't the issue. The issue I have is with capital F fans that allow these companies to sneak in additional costs through the back door and even defend it.
Baffles me every time.
And as an addendum,
I, too, have disposable income but I fail to see what that has to do with not wanting to be fleeced.
In what manner are we being 'fleeced'? If someone does not want to purchase optional items, then they need not do so. The people who do, however, are ensuring that the game continues to be successful. We already know from Yoshi-P's own words in various interviews that the funds raised from the Mog Station specifically go back into the game and generally pay for additional servers, new datacentres and similar infrastructure upgrades. Again, MMO's are not a one and done affair - they're developed over time and are ridiculously expensive to maintain without a compromise in the form of optional cosmetics.
Whales aren't necessarily a bad thing. If anything, they mitigate costs that would otherwise be passed on to every consumer rather than a portion of them.
Personally when I find particular business practices abhorrent I vote with my wallet and walk away entirely. I've done as much with other companies and if FFXIV ever crosses any of my major lines in the sand than I'll do it here, too. So far, though, things are decent enough for my liking.
And here we have yet another example of push the envelope far enough and gets normalised till it's the status quo. Then push again.
And if you think whales aren't a problem then educate yourself on the matter. If you think it doesn't influence game design then you're very naive. Be that as it may, let's just agree to disagree.
I for one look after my own interests as a consumer and not those of big corporations.
Oh look, it's the same argument that comes up every time the cash shop is mentioned.
And they say we don't have Necromancers in FFXIV ...
No. It would be sacrilege. Besides that, no one can look as wonderful as he does in his clothes obviously.
Depends on if it is another undyeable one-piece or something for mixing and matching, I guess ^_^.
Absolutely. Might as well include the Garlean gunblade and armour.
I would
But I would also like them to release the outfit for Yotsuyu.
Hair maybe, coat in parts but can’t really see what parts could be separated and coloured but lol let’s face it, its the mogstation team, be happy with an undyable, hair-lacking, one piece.
Wouldn't take his clothes, but would take a cardboard cutout that I can put up in my house. :3
Nah. Not my style.
Nope!
I prefer girly stuff
I'm waiting for SE to come to their senses & release Gaia's hair
No, I don't really like his outfit that much.
Not for me, it's not my style. I'd buy it for other people though. What I'd buy is an actual Pixie/Titania accurate outfit. The dress they currently have only looks nice on Lalas.
People would be raging that a beloved character is P2W.
As much as I love Emet-Selch I'd only buy it for the earring(if dyable) and hair.
Hell yeah!
maybe as pajamas
