I wondered the same. Surely, there are players who want a buttslider for males too.
If they do they should make a topic and talk about it, start a dialog if you care.
IDGAF so I'm never gonna do that.
But I did care enuff about this to take around 20 pics to document the changes on my character post "butt nerf".
Anyway, as for the topic, I personally hope that at the very least they use the future parts of the raid to add pants, shorts and/ or short skirt versions of the 2B butt. Cause though I am grateful for the butts I would like to have the butts without having the cheeks showing all the time.
Actually a number of guys I know have said it (I know confirmation bias) but most aren't going to go on the forums or don't have time - they also would like a bulge slider because they feel they're as smooth as a Ken Doll lol.
I feel the models in general could use some updates - as I said the engine is showing its age, and I'd love more form on the character models. I like how Monster Hunter has rather nicely built characters (but I'd like to see different builds) but their animation can look wonky (those mouth and walk animation cycles make me cringe) while I feel FF has less wonky (though they do exist with certain skills) but their character models could use a bit more work and updates.
That said, the people sometimes coming in and making complaints about people talking about visual appearances and how much time dedicated to them, are the same types of people that irritate me when I'm doing drawings, and often life drawings that involve anatomy and they freak out because I draw "nekkid ppl" thinking I shouldn't learn how things work underneath to make them look better clothed -_[;;
Oh please... to all 7 Shisui sets!! :o
Aren't there bigger issues with the CC than not having a butt slider? I mean you are free to want what you want just seems odd that a butt slider is the thing that everyone on the forums keeps coming back to
There are, for sure. When FF XIV first relaunched CC wasn't too bad, but it is starting to show its age at this point. A lot of other MMOs have sliders for just about everything. A butt slider is where people chose to pick their battle first it seems, and to be honest, it is one of the more glaring issues with character models.
Does this include dudes, or do dudes get plank-butts forever? (I don't know how I feel about wearing clothes just for an anatomically correct butt. XDD It sounds so silly xD)
Games had sliders before xiv released too, even 1.0.
Personally, beyond height, muscle, and chest sliders (male and female), the rest can be presets for all I care. Having sliders for everything just makes it harder to find the right proportion imo. I spend wayyyy more time in char creation in games with sliders, and it's even more of a mess once you get in game, realize something is off, and have to spend another 3 hours trying to recreate the original plus fix the issues it had.
Exactly! In GW2 for example, Iwastedspent too much time balancing my Asura because moving one slider made another facial portion look weird (e.g. removing cheecks made the lips more pointy), so it turned into an eternal fumbling. When it was done, I noticed the engine - the lighting to be more precise - was off as it created a weird shadow due to my face geometry, so I had to move some more sliders...
Yeah, we are definitely not getting an improved customization ever. Yoshida and the dev team just don’t express much interest in doing that unfortunately. So, whenever a new mmo is announced, (likely 2025 if I had to guess) we just have to hope they learn from their mistakes on XIV.
I was just exaggerating, but there was a statement by Yoshida around here, where he said if he was to make another FF MMO it would be completely different, it sounded kind of like a MOBA or something. I'd have to find the quote, I know it was posted once in the male viera thread, but I don't know where it's source is. I'm working off my memory from months and months ago.
I think it's less about interest and more about limitations and recognizing how much of people's enjoyment of this game is focused on aesthetics. Like, this is a pretty solid solution to a problem. Give people hopefully big ass GEARS (hoping and praying that it's not just this one) so that they have the option in game if they want that look that doesn't demand they have to tackle this whole dang monster of a system.
Their janky old af CC system makes it so that in order to make changes like a butt slider they would have to alter every leg gear for every race to allow them to have butts of w/e size and alter many MANY tops to not clip those butts cause your character doesn't have clothing placed ontop of their model ... gear replaces your model with that of w/e gear and applies settings to it. tis why I currently have a bug reported that causes my character's torso to hover in mid air when matching certain tops with alliance striking skirt.
That's one of those pay-for-it-later type problems that come from making a mad dash to save what was a dumpster fire of game back then, this game has a lot of systems that are hard to work around now. Could legit see them releasing a new FF mmo but 2024 at this rate.
As a White Person I think most of the races have decent options for making a black character, or dark skinned at the very least. Male and female.
Because it's pretty narrow minded to think that only one Race "looks Black" when as SturmChurro said below there are many options in this game that make us look "Black" we're not just some weird stereotype and many of our features don't reside in just one type of look to qualify as Black.
tl;dr We're more diverse in looks than just some bunny girl. I like them, but I don't think they're the only indicator of how a Black Female should look - especially with anime type aesthetics in the game :P
they also most certainly don't have our hair
How did we go from talking about ffxiv butts to real-world racial representation? This community feels schizophrenic sometimes...
Me, a fellow black woman. Watching another black person be offended because another black person thinks that the race that was designed to be 'dark-coloured', represents us more - and is thus called narrow-minded. What. Just what. Can 2019 be done with and common sense and acceptance of opinion please be brought back in 2020. Less I'm offended and, more 'I don't agree with that, but okay.' That'd be awesome, thanks.
They said ONLY, not MORE.
I like to give them a little more credit even if I think the character customization is dated.
Who cares, it's their opinion. Why get offended by it? They're not being insulting or rude. I actually loved the fact that the Viera were all dark-skinned when they were introduced. As a kid growing up where most characters and women etc in games were white, that was a game-changer. kek
tldr; ain't worth getting offended.
Now if I want to get offended I'm going to ask why I can't adjust the front of my dudes pelvis. No bulge slider? How dare. Now that's the real problem.
Sorry, wasn't aware I could have a different opinion here.
Yeah and I talked about how males should have more options earlier in this thread. That included bulge sliders, but forgive me if you think we can't multitask. It's in the realm of scope of character customization.
God forbid someone use the words "kinda" too, you know? I hope in 2020 people can also learn to understand adjectives in language too.
{not to mention irony - but I guess I'll stop because people can't pick up on satire)
"I kinda take offence" doesn't make sense. You know that right? You either do or you don't there's no in-between, no middle ground.
Don't try and do a weird reverse uno when it doesn't work.
I also don't understand what you're talking about in regards to the bulge sliders. It's something I want and can use, like someone playing as a male toon. Not something that I went out of my way to prod you with. Believe me, I'm far too lazy to check multiple pages of people talking about 2b butt.
Multi-task, what? Also, who's we?
Like I said satire/irony is completely missed here.
Lol, if you say so. I always thought satire had to be funny.
Maybe ask them what they mean by that, or why they think so, instead of Instantly getting offended.
Its pretty narrow-minded to just get upset and offended right away. Especially over a videogame Avatar. I know its 2019, but dang...
If getting offended was your attempt at Satire...I think you need more practice.

No words needed xD
But on the side note, he said they will fix it in 2.18 probably.
They are talking about the 2B butt "Controversy" Where now when you wear the pants from the outfit your Butt does't appear...."out" anymore. Now it looks Normal/Flat.
In the Letter from the Producer LiveStream it was said that what happened was a mistake, and they it will get "Fixed" in the upcoming patch
I assume they mean fixed in 5.18 not 2.18.
