I don't see problem with them adding them. They did add a dancer for job class this expansion so think it be wrong to not have pole or stage dance for them.
I approve. Especially if some kind cat boys would like to test it out for me ;)
I'm not sure if you've been paying attention but more and more we get NPC emotes. Should the Warrior of Light, Eikon Slayer, Savior of the First tremble in fear? Well, we can, as an emote. We, who slayed Ifrit can stand around and be sweaty. We, who contested with Shiva and endured Coerthas can /shiver.
Pole dancing is fitness and DRG was already working it with Ring of Thorns.
I say yes to this and want it, like yesterday.
.
Then that would make pld broken.
1.Pld tanks are already the top tanks in the game.
2. We generate oath with auto attacks instead on blocking (thank god for the change!)
3. We have a 6 sec 100% block that blocks both physical and magical.
It's called balance, and adding more to one job's kit when other jobs are being neglected is very unbalanced.
Just accept what you got and be happy with it.
Just because something is in the game doesn't mean we should be able to mimic it. This would only encourage as said from other people before me. Example would be the reason that they decided to not put the option to gamble Gil in Mah Jongg. They do not wish to encourage said behavior. I do not have a problem with such furnishings but I do not believe making this an emote is the best course of action.
Never said it was. I'm only stating my opinion on it. Sorry if you think that's the case but it's not.
I have nothing against "Fantasy violence" and other aspects of the game. If you want to use that as comparison then would you want to mimic Slavery, racism, prostitution, cannibalism?
I'm not here to tell you what you can't get or anything. I'm merely expressing my opinion about it. Though I've said all I wanted to say and won't comment on this any further.
This is such a ridiculously loaded question. Of course no one wants to advocate for things like slavery, racism, and cannibalism. My point is in your matter-of-fact hypocrisy; you took something that is completely innocent and consensual, claimed it as 'prostitution' (as if legalized sex work is somehow the gravest sin), then labeled it as a bad influence in a game that's filled to the brim with adult content and/or touchy subject matter. It was a reactionary, puritanical, knee-jerk reaction to a harmless request for both an item and animation that already exists in FFXIV and is by no means offensive. The language you used made two things very clear: an attempt at moral high ground, and a resounding 'no' ("stuff like this is never going to happen", etc.). No amount of backtracking is going to change that.
Also that.
My guy or gal I'm gonna have to ask you to stop being this wrong and unaware. In the event this isn't bait and you are dead serious, seek a social group for help. Please.

That's your opinion then. I personally think you're just a bit upset in your response. You're more than welcome to voice out in the next Q&A about this topic if you really want it, all I've given is my reasoning as to why I believe it won't be implemented into the game.
They can fix this just make game with mature rating. I remember way back when dancing use to be the end thing ones did. Loved watch those that did break dancing.
I believe they're referring to the Desmond is Amazing controversy, where the underaged minor performed a mild strip dance at a gay club in NYC (he didn't remove his jeans iirc).
On topic though, don't really see why it matters. Some people wanna have their Chara poledance. Others don't. It's all preference and neither side is wholly right or wrong until someone takes the Moral High Ground (Not to be confused with the High Ground, signature weapon of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and which is always what you should have).
Let people poledance if they want. Just make it a sidequest in the Beehive and then people never have to do it?
Yes Please I would love to have that ^_^
There is nothing about the rating that needs to be changed. And it is not something that they can swap on a whim for 1 emote. There's just an absurd amount of people in this world who don't know a thing about dance culture. Like, Olympic gymnastics has pole fitness. It's just horizontal. But let that thing go vertical by gawd call the local priest.
Literally everything can be adult in nature. Ballet has pedophilia roots but nope, no one mentions that when watching the Nutcracker. This game is adult in nature. Why is no one bringing up the fact female midlander dance is the self same that catgirls world wide dance in skimpy clothes? Those girls are dancing to excite, and allure. Oh? Not a problem all of a sudden? Given what's been argued in this thread. Did everyone forget the [censored] piercings? Cause ya make their lewd jewelry for GSM levequests.
For His Radiance's sake, it's like being told 1+1=2 and arguing that it can equal 5 and 7. It is harmless. And if seeing players be able to do the Eulmore pole dances in their own home bothers people that much, then they should step away from XIV. The entirety of DRG may as well push the rating up. They have poles (see eastern staff), and the female weapon stance may as well be one move away from shaking those hips. Pole dance does not have to be adult or sultry.
You have a strange idea of what being upset is, then.
So where is the 'adult' intent when someone signs up for a fitness pole dancing? There's well over a dozen options near me in my part of North Texas; you know, the state that's often seen as being incredibly conservative (it unfortunately is, but it also isn't; it's a lot more complicated than that, but that's another discussion altogether)
Can pole dancing be erotic? Sure. Is it always? Not even remotely. Even if it was, so what? Sensuality is natural. It's a part of life. It's harmless. No amount of yelling from a negatively biased bubble is going to change that.
Oddly enough the mod community has these emotes available and not just restricted to one race or gender. It's pretty interesting to see how easy they are able to apply emotes like this to any gender as well as all the race specific emotes to other races as well.
Seems to me the developers could give us these without to much work if they so chose to do so. Will they in this case personally I don't think so but time will tell.
I understand that. I wasn't suggesting they didn't but on the other hand I think it does show how easy it is for modders to implement them. They don't appear to need to change the animations and use the same skeletal animations and apply them to all genders and races.
I don't think it's a question of hard to do but more so a question of other limitations and a desire to not want to do it. They appear to have a specific vision of how the game should employ emotes etc and they make their decisions based on their preferences. Personally I have no problem with race specific emotes and hope they never change that.
I'm not opposed to having these emotes in game but I suspect it won't happen.
I mean the bee or whatever it is called in Eulmore have Pole Dancers i think?
But to have an Emote.. .god no, please not ever.
Why do I get the impression that some people in this thread would accuse me of being a 'degenerate' because I strip down to my underwear each time I hit the beach to go swimming? :p
There's nothing inherently inappropriate about showing off a fit body be it through sports or performance arts.
With that said, certain countries tend to overextend in their quest to police such things, so I won't be surprised if we don't see the emote added due to their sensibilities.
Regardless of what people on here say about pole dancing or of it's real-life use, it's used as a sexually suggestive dance within the context of the game. And it doesn't appear like it's going to deviate from that use. It doesn't even need to, given how minuscule it is. If people want to dance, just do it at the beehive.
You mean a dead action that's been gone since Heavensward? The "suggestive" part of it is only suggestive out of context and it lasts for less than a second
