No longer diadem achievements obtainable

That’s not exactly true. The Fold achievements no longer exists.
I was a decent chunk through that when SE decided to drop The Fold for The Feast only and give next to no warning the achievements were going as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I too am upset at achievements just leaving the game. Especially ones with shy grind to them!

They do still exist, actually.

The Fold's achievements were converted into Feast achievements in the 4.0 patch, that's why the Feast has many extra achievements that are nearly identical.

If you cared for the achievement you would of gotten it when it was still new. It’s like the 2.0 players who cry for missing out on 1.0 because the game got revamped. You were in your mother’s womb? Should’ve burst out like a Xenomorph ran to Game Stop and picked up a membership card.

I'm sad. I wanted the achievement but nobody plays Diadem. I was hoping for a revamp or something. If they're just gonna basically delete the entire thing, then it's pretty sad. :/

Wasn't available for my country at the time. Is it really bad to want them to, I dunno, make an offline version of 1.0 so we can just play for the story or something? I think it would be cool and they could reuse the assets to save time, make a new game to sell for 60 bucks or something.

Diadem is actually being revamped for Ishgard Restoration. The issue is whether or not the achievements will return along with it, either as is or with revised requirements.

The preliminary patch notes are worded in such a way that implies they will not return. That's why so many people would like to see a dev response—there's a lot of frustration and confusion at the moment.

That's a rather deceptive argument. Aside from not accounting for players who weren't around when Diadem was 'new' some of the achievements were very much a matter of pure luck. I'm one of the lucky ones who managed to clear the emergency mission successfully but I can easily see how others may not have had that same opportunity due to how often groups failed to work together.

Hopefully the achievements will still be obtainable as of 5.1 - and if they aren't then we should have had forewarning that they were going to be removed.

I got 93 more monsters to kill. I didn’t care for it back then. I also chose not to get the heart emote when it was free for the event. I also could of gotten the ruthless gillionaire achievement back in 1.0. Sure I would love to get old unique things, but I made the choice not to get them back then. I accept that. To the people who were unfortunate to get the achievement, it just makes the achievement so much more rare and enjoyable to those who got it. If everything was handed out like candy life would be dull. The value of an achievement is only based on what people make it.

That achievement will be replace with another and no one cares if you have the ruthless gillionaire achievement. It’s all worthless. The pride is all in our minds.

Btw SE please don’t get rid of the achievement and bring back Ruthless Gillionaire. Thank you

Possibly silly question here but I can't seem to find this anywhere in the achievement list... where can I even find the Diadem achievements?

They’re under Exploration, then Duty.

This is the thing I hate most about games now a days. Having things be limited edition, or rare.

I came to this game, because it brought about a change that you see in most MMOs. Where you can do everything, earn everything, craft and combat everything in every job. Circumstances in 1.0 made it so I couldn't play, and thus earn those achievements and items, and it made me sad. I thought that 2.0 was going to be different and better, and it was!

But it's things like this that make me want to puke. The removal of achievements and content made me quit WoW when Cata came out. And it's people that hold that exclusivity over others that makes it even worse. "I have this achievement/title/mount/minion and you don't and you never will."

I'm now scrambling to get another 88 more NM kills and 250 fates clears and 90 more diadem clears to get /all/ the achievements.

SE I implore you. Don't remove content at all anymore. If you need to push it aside, bring it back later. I want to get the titles, mounts and the points especially for doing all the achievements.

To be fair, Diadem's (assumed) situation right now is definitely the exception to the rule. I personally think the dev team has done an excellent job so far preserving the game's content and rewards. You're absolutely right—it's refreshing to see in an age where so much content in games is limited.

I'm most likely not getting the notorious monster slayer title I was able to get the pets mount and orchestrion roll. It will be a disappointment not get those other achievements but hopefully it comes back in some form or another.

I've been trying to do Emergency Mission for a while since it came out but have always been unlucky. Every time it's appeared I've been in the only party in the instance which is fantastic. If you could queue up as alliances or something it would be a lot better, plus the timer lockout is awful too and actively prevents people from being able to try to get in together. Just last night spend several hours in diadem instances waiting for EM and eventually it did appear one time but none of the other parties were able to join our instance with EM activated.

Removing with no notice is terrible.

I'm going to repeat what I said in another thread:

It is likely they are changing the system to work like Eureka. Instead of trying to queue in with a Full Party you queue in solo. They are likely also removing the distinction between Trials of the Matron and Trials of the Fury. The Achievements being permanently removed (if any) are likely the "Feet/Hands/Head in the Clouds I-IV" and "Have a Haillenarte I-IV" achievements which are based on evaluation and completion of tasks as those systems will likely be removed replaced by other achievements.

Crown of Thorns I-V, Crowning Achievement I-III and Gem and the Hallowed Lands will likely return along with all current rewards once they finish the Diadem update in addition to new rewards and achievements.

Except last time they said specifically that achievement would be attainable again once it was re-implemented which is not the case this time.

"Players will temporarily be unable to obtain Achievements from the Diadem.
Once Diadem (Hard) has been updated and re-implemented, players will once again be able to obtain these Achievements."

Hopefully they will bring it back in a new way and we can still get those achievements. If not it is really stupid you shouting months before about Garo is gonne end with patch 5.1 but Diadem we will say a few days before the launch of the patch.

Do you have insider knowledge that we're not privy to? There's a lot of lack of information with a lot of the re-working they're doing so if you know something that's 100% absolutely true, then please share it with the rest of the class, otherwise you can't say anything with absolute certainty.

They've removed content before that achievements have been locked to, there's a chance it could happen again.

They have, yes, but they've also just changed up the achievement criteria when it happened. This would be the first instance of permanently inaccessible achievements in post-2.0.

I just hope they make the Pegasus mount easy to get if they moved it somewhere else. I didn't want to waste money to pay for a sub just to farm moogle tomes so wasn't able to get it last time.

It's not really a question if they will return, or not. If they intended for them to come back (they know Diadem is returning) they would've said that achievements will be temporarily unavailable.

You now got 2 chances to get the mount and you grabbed neither. How many times should SE bring back the opportunity to get it?
Diadem is being revamped, so if the spoils will still be gatherable in there and SE keeps the exchange you could still get it later.

One thought that came to mind regarding the Head, Hand, Feet, Crown, NM Kills and all the other achievements that they're removing. I wonder if they can just give them out to folks who have been pushing hard, or at least attempted to get them at some point. Instead of having the requirements be X of 10/25/50/100/300, change it instead to X of 1. Give them away for free for those who gave a damn for them. Because, as it stands. Moogle tomes were an easy alternative way to get the Pegasus mount. It was rare to get a Diadem run going for them.

Don't expect mounts like these "easy to get" in terms of time spent. That is on you on how you want to get the mounts you want.

It feels really unfair to remove something like this that never gave the intention of being temporary. Please re-think this.

Would like to add to my disappointment that I'm not going to be able to finish getting the achievements in Diadem. I've spent every moment I can since the patch notes dropped trying to get the last of my achievements done and it's just not possible. I was hoping the revamp of Diadem would bring the place back to life and I could work on the Achievements THEN. Had I known sooner the achievements were being removed entirely I would have started working on it long before now.

It really is unfair. We pay monthly for this game to help support adding content, not removing it! I understand the Garo content was always advertised as a limited time event, but no prior notice to the exploratory missions being removed and worse the achievements becoming unobtainable is a gut punch to anyone interested in completing those achievements!

Where was all the diadem support back when it was current? All i remember was people hating on it. It died so fast because of that. This is a case of the devs seeing content that can be re-purposed for something else, instead of having to start from scratch and use more resources.

Maybe if people had actually expressed interest in the diadem, been active in doing it "for the achievements" this wouldn't be happening.

I mean, that's all well and good, but imo the issue here is the extremely short notice on the achievements going away. If they're gonna bring them back in another form, then okay whatever, but that's kind of a question mark now and from what I gather that is what most people have a problem with. Removing content in general is its own argument, and I can see why they are removing it (if they are for good) considering its (lack of) popularity, but the super short notice thing is all on SE.

I actually liked Diadem, but not enough to try to hunt down groups when most other people stopped doing it. Took a break from the game not too long after it came out, and by the time I came back it was dead content. The rewards have pretty much been on a list of "I'll get them if I happen to see a group I have time to join but if not oh well" type deal for me, so I'm honestly not too fussed about this, but I can understand why others are.

When the revamped Diadem came out, it was actually a bit of a chore to get players to go down below the main part of the map and kill the NM FATEs after the Objective phase was complete. Most tended to leave so they could requeue and hope for the EM—others AFK’d, and then others wanted to just gather afterwards. I ran Diadem 2.0 quite a bit via random matching before SB dropped; never tried the Discord group. If I’d known the Notorious Monster Slayer achievement was disappearing, I would have tried sooner to get it. It’s one of the few titles I’d actually really like to have.

So I’m adding in my disapproval to this: the removal and the abysmal lack of warning.

Similar to what they did with The Fold achievements where they made it so you could make progress on them by doing the Feast, the Notorious Monster Slayer title could be adjusted so you can make progress on it by killing NMs in Eureka, the content that is, more or less, Diadem done better.

The fact that Square Enix is known for giving proper notice, is currently radio silent, and often times reworks achievements says to me that there is a good chance this is some sort of mistake. I'm hoping the full 5.1 patch notes and Yoshida's commentary during the live patch note reading will be able to assuage fears.

It is a shame I was actually one of the few people that really liked Diadem

Like many people here I'm very disappointed that we were given such short and vague notice regarding the changes and removals in Diadem.

I unlocked this content a little bit before Stormblood came out and even back then it was impossible to go in without a pre-made party, even less after. It's only right before Shadowbringers came out that I found by pure chance a group in Party Finder two or three times, and was able to get the minion. But that was about it, until the 5.1 patch notes were released. Now I learn that, due to the Notorious Monster spawn window being a certain amount of time (23 min I've been told), even with all the grinding I'm able to do it is mathematically impossible for me to get the one achievement from Diadem that gives a reward (Notorious Monster Slayer title).

Meanwhile, as other people pointed out, we received notice for the end of the GARO event months in advance, and I had more than enough time to consider completing it, and finally get all 3 mounts, all gear, level every single class from 1 to 60 (!!!), and get all titles.

To that I'd also add that one big problem on EU servers is that (surprise!) we don't all speak the same language, and that makes it really hard to organize groups and keep them focused on objectives. So an Emergency Mission attempt with people who don't speak a decent amount of English would be nearly impossible, as in my experience coordinating a group of English speaking and French speaking players on FATEs alone was a total disaster (even with the auto-translate feature + me as a translator in the middle). I'm therefore convinced that a lot of French speaking and German speaking players (but even people who play in English and are Russian/Portuguese/Polish/Dutch/Finnish etc and who don't necessarily have good English communication skills) are currently missing out on content such as this one, and will struggle a lot more to organize themselves in a way the Diadem Debauchery discord does.

I am also of the mind that there is a possibility that these achievements will be revamped one way or another, but in that case it should be Square Enix' responsibility to inform us of what their future actions on this matter will be, as right now players are just angry and confused at what's happening because of how vague the patch notes are.

- Will these achievements be merged with Eureka in one way or another?
- Can the Notorious Monster Slayer title be obtainable in any other way?
- Are the FC airship exploration missions affected in any way? (that part is not clear to me)
- Is there a possibility to give us a time window to get these achievements the way mentors are being given a delay after 5.1 to complete the new requirements?

Answers to these questions would already appease a lot of the feelings of the community.

And again, please consider the players who are not aware or able to take part in this discussion because they speak different languages.

I'm fine with Diadem being reworked, but I do wish they gave us more information ahead of time about when it was being taken away and what would be impacted. Currently, the patch notes are vague enough to the point where nobody knows if the Spoils Traders will still be functional come 5.1. Pegasus, pegasus colt minion and Zu could be gone for good, but we don't know because there's been a lack of communication and warning.

It's been a struggle because just a half hour ago, my datacenter almost cleared the Emergency Mission. With more people prepared, we just need more time and we could do it, not just for us but for everyone else that's new trying to check it out.

I'm hoping that the short notice is a mistake and that they'll address this, but given Diadem's popularity, I won't be surprised if they just don't care.
