Yeah, it is completely fair. If an RPer wants the glam they can go do the content like everyone else has to. It's super simple.

RPers get so much every patch, the entire housing system is made for them, not to mention gazillions of emotes, different looks, hairstyles and music. None of that has any gameplay value.
People who like a challenge gameplay-wise, and would like to play classic MMORPG raidgame content are given a handful of bosses every 6 months, with half of those often nerfed to regular PUG levels, and half of the group content is released in an outdated state (every new dungeon, every 24 raid, is already outgeared at release by the playerbase. Whoever had that idea shouldnt work in this industry at all).
Heck, they just released the easiest savage tier in the entire history of the game (took only 14h to clear fully), vastly increased loot drops for the second-easiest normal raid tier, and gave you free AF gear just for getting lvl 80 that is actually enough to clear EX trials comfortably. It doesnt get any easier than that.
The game generally is very easy but I don’t think that’s an issue by itself. I think rather than there being too much easy stuff, I think it’s better to say that there isn’t a satisfying amount of ‘hard’ stuff. The game does pride itself on its accessibility, so it’s to be expected that it’d have comfortable and predictable content for general stuff. At the same time, the game doesn’t have a much to cater to ‘raider’ types.
The ‘casual’ type players like myself have pretty much all content. Crafters/gathers have some Beast Tribe quests and things like that upcoming Ishgardian restoration thing or the Doman reconstruction, plus scrips and gear/meld grinding. People who enjoy a more old-school type grind have (theoretically) Eureka and quite a things to grind for like mounts / rare glamours etc. But then people who enjoy high difficulty raids only really seem to have savage, which from what I’ve read isn’t a satisfying difficulty for those who want something ‘high difficulty’.
Maybe in the future they could have more ‘Ultimate’ raid fights for these types of players? Or perhaps some kind of content with a scaling enemy difficulty like PoTD that becomes more and more difficult as you progress. I wanted to say that it could have some kind penalties imposed on the party to increase difficulty, but then I realise that I’m literally just describing PoTD lol
As an aside, as someone who owns all of these, they absolutely suck as glam.Quote:
Blessed tools
They're REALLY COOL if you want to go ino craft mode and sit there for taking screenshots, but they're the same general color as the craft quality orb at normal status, dont glow when not crafting (WHY?), and theres no offhand version, so you only see it on some of the recipes you craft.
They need a LOT of work.
This game is relatively easy, especially after playing it for so many years. And that's exactly why I like it. I can seek out challenging content when I want to, but I don't have to if I don't feel like it / don't have the energy / don't have the time.

You want BiS? You work hard for them like how raiders do.
Maybe they should be a tiny bit more strict on the default ilvl cap in each dungeon/trial, at least to the point that ignoring mechanics/tankbusters causes a little "oh sh*t" moment. The biggest problem to me, is a lot of the content can just be facerolled.
Difficult to do though considering that skillsets have evolved over the expansions.
Roleplaying, technically, does not involve playing the actual game nor does it require any development work. Yoshida could announce tomorrow that Shadowbringers will be the final expansion and it would have precisely zero impact on roleplayers. Even if they shut down the servers, you can roleplay through Discord because roleplay is literally a fantasy of your own design. Cassandra Solidor, the character, does not exist outside of my imagination or the imagination of those I share her with. Meanwhile, raiding directly requires you play the game. Rewarding people for roleplay makes no sense whatsoever for all the reasons HyoMin outlined. Why would a roleplay with little interest in Savage or Ultimate care about an i475 they aren't going to even use?
I think this part needs addressing.
First of all, world race raiders (those trying to claim world first clears) are more often than not exceptionally skilled players, are able to analyze, learn and adjust to mechanics in very short time and have the physical skill of precise positioning and their rotation mostly down to a tee.
Secondly, they dedicate an incredible amount of time to the first week which the average raider would spread over two or more weeks. If we assume between 2-4h break times for refreshments, that still leaves about 10-12h of raid time. On top of that, they don't have the luxury of guides to learn - they truly run blind (further attesting to the skill of these players).
Thirdly, as was already mentioned by Naoki Yoshida, Eden's Gate's first savage tier was designed at about creator difficulty with slightly more lenient dps checks to accomodate for the average raider still getting accustomed to their skillsets.
Lastly, if the remaining post doesn't make it clear - our skill as a player grows all the time. The main reason why content is being percieved as more and more easy by more experienced players is because it is getting incredibly difficult to design content enticing enough for raid newcomers to take the first step and not feel excluded while making it difficult enough to accomodate for the more skilled enough players to have a challenge.
the min ilvl is not even correct,if you do trial lvl 50 min ilvl you would be with 5k hp,back then we were barely at 3k,the only way to truly be ilvl min is to find gear from back then
That's why usually in MMOs, the step from casual to raider is done by raiding oudated content from 1-2 exansions ago, which still offers relatively worthwhile gear. The you move up and join guild that raid newer content, again you get better skillwise and gearwise, so you move on to a guild that does even newer and harder stuff and so on. It's called progression.
The assumption that newcomers should take their first raiding steps in current endgame itself is flawed. But then again, at level 80, SB raids dont offer anything worthwhile gearwise, so of course no level 80 newcomer has any reason to do them for getting into raiding, even if they would have a hard time clearing them even at lvl 80.
Same with Ex Primals, look at all those wipes of full lvl 80 parties unsync on SB Exs. The powerlevel of a character is now completely detached from the skill level of the player. Ofc you reach the point where it's impossible to design content for that construct.
