Rather than the exact words, I would read the intent of that sentence more as "people who cheat [by using] parsers, cheat [by using] hunt radars, cheat [by using] bots, etc..."

But you are not allowed to tell that to a player because that makes you a toxic elitist who only parses to harass others!
To the OP: Parsing is not cheating, its a tolerated 3rd party tool as long as people don't get harassed about their numbers. If people permanently tell you that you are a bad player, you should think about it if they are not maybe right and try to improve yourself instead of calling each and everyone a cheater or toxic if they use a parser because you don't have to parse to see if someone plays bad.
Hunt radars and gathering bots on the other hand are cheating and SE should do something about that but that is not really happening which is sad.
Have they added any parsing tools in game yet. If not there is a statement from 2017 that says you can be banned for using them. That its against tos. Reason he was afraid if ones used them they would become toxic.
Using a parsing tool isn't going to make a person toxic. That person was already toxic.
Also as someone postd in one of the OPs previous threads: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-WX...youtu.be&t=363
A parsing tool isn't the same as a bot, or cheat. It's not going to give you magic skills because you know your numbers. It's just giving you your numbers.
Oh boy, WoW's damage meter/parser scene is a thousand times more toxic than anything I've caught wind of on XIV. I don't parse, I'm not interested in end-game content beyond DF but what I've heard from the community on parsing has generally been positive.
WoW's parsing, on the other hand... If you're not in -at least- the top 5 (3 depending on the content), you're trash and everyone will make sure you know you're trash and instead of giving feedback and advice, they will beat it into your head that you are trash and you'll never get better no matter what you say think or do. Item levels, gearscores and DPS meters has ruined WoW end-game content slowly over the years.
Anyway, OP, you shan't be missed.
Fun Fact: I'm playing WoW and what people are always claiming about it is nothing more than exaggeration. You might encounter this behaviour sometimes in the higher myth+ runs but thats about it. In normal dungeons no one give a crap about your dps as long as the stuff gets done.
It really can vary.
I've seen times when for parties you needed to provide previous logs of your DPS of the content and they all needed to be within a specific range or you don't get a spot in their group. For normal raids...
While other times people just didn't care about anything (Except when the Tank did the most damage, that would make them go post a bunch of threads on the forums/reddit about how OP Tanks are and that they need a billion nerfs)
Anyway...
Parsing (Also, DPS meters, HPS meters etc) is an inevitability in MMO's. If they're not outright allowed and incorporated into the game, then people will just use third party ones. If even THOSE are prevented, well, people will just manually parse using combat logs.
People want to see how they can improve, how they compare to the "Optimal" set up (I.e. Using Simulators) and comparing classes to each other to find better compositions.
This, also, invariably leads to some people being dicks about it. As they for some reason start to feel as though that pressing some buttons good makes them better people or something. Thus these "People" will be abusive/toxic towards players they see as "Bad" (As opposed to, idk... Helping them to improve?) - Even more so if the "Bad" player in question is playing a class that these toxic players consider "Easy" or "Braindead" to play optimally.
So while parsers are very healthy for a game, people are the worst people.
I can obviously only speak from my experience and i have never even remotly seen something that people always claim and i'm playing on one of the big servers. The point is that most people here are just generaly saying that the WoW com is toxic which is not true. They have dicks just like we have dicks.
I have never, in my entire time playing FF14, seen anyone accuse someone else of being a bad player for not using a parser or a hunt radar. I've gone through a few hundred EX primal kills and haven't even seen a parser mentioned, let alone abuse over it, despite the fact half these seem to go onto fflogs.
A lot of the time the toxicity is from a player consistently doing half of what a player in the bottom 10% for their class should do and getting aggressive over advice.
I would actually like to see Enix really enforce their ToS, completely block ACT and fflogs, if only to highlight from the mass-quitting how much players actually prefer to have this sort of information for self improvement and raid leading, particularly at the high end.
It would be nice if they could make it so that the training dummies gave me an actual dps number, like the ones in ESO do, so I could improve, plus I don’t play on pc. :)
If you're asking about any parsing tools at all, then: Yes, they kinda have in the form of PvP-match-statistics.
They have stated on multiple occassions though that they dont plan to add a PvE-parser, aka the thing most of us are refering to when we're talking about parsing.
They are okay with them though as long as they're not being used to harrass people. Yoshi-P is well aware of the purpose to the outright need that parsing has.
Just a quick reminder: Parsers are against the ToS.
Also a quick reminder: It's SE's ToS, so they can enforce it (or not enforce it) as they see fit.
Or in short, just 'cause it's in the ToS doesnt mean SE will ban you for it. It's their rules, their game, their product. They dont enforce everything in the ToS 100% for practical reasons, but they want things in the ToS to be there so in case they want to get rid of you, there are rules in place for them to justify it. Most notably if you start harassing other players with Parse numbers.
I'm not condoning it at all and there is no question that gather bots have done a lot of bad things to influence the in-game economy, but I would be a big fat liar if I said I don't appreciate super cheap shards/crystals/clusters (no guarantee I bought them from botters, but come on)
Same, and I've been at it since September 2010. That being said I won't claim it's never happened because it certainly has happened to someone. I'm not sure it's as frequent and wide-spread as OP implied though.
OP's main issue is that people around him are using parsers (and discord bots), as you can see from his previous threads. And he considers that to be cheating, even though a lot told him that Yoshi P himself said parsers are not cheating. He refused to acknowledged that and ignored those saying so. So I'm guessing those he say called him a bad player are players he might have tried to force them not to use a parser around him, which can easily result in them kicking him out to save themselves any further drama.
I actually didn't know hunt radars were a thing, but parsing is quite possibly one of the most important things that can be done in this game. With such a big focus on DPS, knowing how much DPS you're putting out relative to your potential and the DPS required? It's important. Parsing is a necessity in almost every MMO because of this, and the fact Square Enix still won't produce a proper addon API becuase 'parsing bad' is annoying.
Also, how do I make bait like this? I know I just took it, but that was masterful.
I also doubt the OP tried to find or make an all ps4 raid group as was suggested by a few in one of his threads. Though even in a group like that you can tell how bad dps is just by how slow the fight is taking just not who or why. For example I helped out an FC mate on the burn and both the first and last bosses went on longer than they normally do with good dps. Heck we even wiped on the last boss because we didn't make the dps check. Made it on round two but even then it just felt slow to me and because I play on the ps4 I couldn't say anything more than in FC chat that everyone focusing on the same add was dumb.
Though the OP did seem to really want to die on a I don't want to cheat even if I have no clue I'm doing so because someone else is hill. Like you won't know if something you buy off the market board was gotten by a bot or if you got parsed unless you get told about it or actually check fflogs.
Im on ps4. I create my own tunnel vision and i dont have parse to do callouts.. can i brag about it?
I play on PS4. I don't use any mods and afaik there aren't any mods even available for PS4.
From my vague understanding of the topic of "hunt radars," back when I started playing in 2.0 there actually was a 3rd party program that detected, flagged, and relayed (to other users of the program) hunt marks. At some point during the many patches throughout 3.0 that program stopped working and hasn't been updated since. Everyone I know generally disliked this program as it often resulted in the ppl that actually worked on popping S Ranks missing the mark entirely if they spawned on the opposite side of the map from the trigger.
Nowadays there is only a program that can detect S Ranks afaik... So when ppl do triggers they know immediately if the S Rank actually spawned, but then they still have to go out and find it and do calls/relays once they do.
The program did die for a while, but the maker eventually published the source code and it got revived.
There's a select few individuals in my server's hunt community who constantly use it (Largely because they just want the false sense of "prestige" for being the first to relay the hunts, to the point where they'll subtly stalk people in my hunting group between zones without actually trying to spawn anything), and it just causes problems.
I hope you find a game that fits your needs. I will say this though if you have an issue with parsing best of luck finding any MMO that does not use it in some context.
Shards are one thing - I was mostly referring to current, high-level mats; especially things like aethersands. That market was destroyed by gathering bots on my server before they were ever purchasable with scrips. Same with current consumables - both food and pots. I know there are also servers where the crafted gear market (e.g., i380 stuff) has been destroyed by people who use bots.
When I buy consumables, I actually pay more to not buy from those I know use botting services to mass craft things.
Know it is not a popular opinion but I do think being able to name and shame, coupled with the smaller community did a lot to deter people from generally lazy play. I never played those older mmo's. Though I have a feeling if a player did the bare minimum their name would spread like wildfire and would greatly impact their own experience. So why risk it? That is just the vibe I get when m I think back to stories of the past I have heard.
please, complain some more about how what other players do privately makes your gameplay experience so bad.
TBH, this is one of the main things I'm looking forward to about world travel.
Now I can go buy infusions/gear when I feel lazy without having to give money to cheaters, and I honestly hope people start making community-formed lists of the bot farmers on their servers for this purpose (I've already made a mental note of all the big names on Cactuar...).
