Yeah, it's just optional content within optional content. It's just a little something else to do once you're done with Eureka Hydatos (once you're done weapon, armour and logos farming).

No
More like "lets give people rewards for doing this content"
Like ... Ya know .. Everything in this game.
Why would I ever set foot into "kill everything here before you can procide" areas that they call "dungeons" when I'm already max level and don't need exp?
I get tomes if I need them and some gil. But mostly I would only bother with it for the glam.
Why do I race chocobo at least 20 times a week? Could it be that I'm trying to get the new mount?
Even stuff I enjoy doing (raids) I mostly only do for the rewards (dogs/ birds/ mats/ weapons). Doing 99 of one raid burnt me out though so I moved on to other things.
I really can't think of anything I do in this game that doesn't have a reward I want behind it regardless of how much I enjoy w/e content it is.
I really enjoy eureka for what it is. And I'm gonna get my shiny shines as well and my pretty stuff as I do it.
It won't get people into Eureka. Only 1% of the population will even end up with this mount, if that. From what I gather the Arsenal is difficult enough that PUGs probably won't be able to clear it without a lot of luck and if you die during the final fight, you don't get credit for the achievement.
SE once again being unable to make any good midcore content. Its either braindead easy or impossible without a static.
So just like raiding then? If 100% of the players got the reward, it would not be valuable content.
Mounts like the raid mounts, PotD mounts, even the mentor mount are meant to reward players for skill and dedication. It's a trophy.
It's like those PSN trophies that say "competed by 1% of players", and there is nothing wrong with that.
It's not 100% got the reward but those alive during the whole dg get the achievement. If you die during ozma it's rip for you. Many factor in the dungeon can put you out of it. I mean, a tank who forgot to aggro can OS a healer or a dps by example. And counting you have 55 players with you, mistake can come easily from someone. I don't guess it's about a trophy thing but more like we have a content totaly bad designed and can give 0 chance to ppl to clear it.
If you put full time, motivation and can improve on savage, ultimate even POTD then you can do it because with your team you can progress on it. It's not the case here with random players.
Yup, there will be a massive drop of participation within hydatos, people enduring this for the relic will get out once the il405 aquired and probably never set a foot inside BA other willing to give it a shot and give up after a try or two because of how overly complicated it is while a solid core of player will try hard it for the mount and never go back because it have no other purpose. I don't even think a 1% of the player will get it nor even try to, eureka participation number aren't that great for the moment and don't give any hope for a massive activity inside the arsenal and I'm not even mentioning Shadowbringer incoming.
Those 56 player even need the rest of the eureka instance to win a fate that spawn during the progress in BA, if the fate isn't cleared they just can't progress BA anymore, its game over, and he's not easy he require dispel and feint logos action to be completed swiflty as far as I've understand and have a short timer like OVNI not even mentioning the moves of the NM, spanning inside/out AoE and meteor when the HP gettin' low.
Honestly, the mechanics in the armory only look to be about extreme trial tier in terms of their complexity.
There is a lamentably large amount of incompetent players judging from the headcount even the easiest NMs tend to rack up, though...
I'm just going off what I heard about heavily defensive specced tanks being almost one shot by basic mobs, which seemed a bit insane. Mechanics usually arent a problem. Overtuned enemies are, especially when death is so heavily punished that it can prevent you from getting the achievement as well as delevel you.
That's the thing that baffles me the most. And makes zero sense as far as player cooperation is concerned. What motivation do the people outside have to doing that for you? Especially if it's a situation where someone wanted to go in but just missed entry due to the BA being maxed?
Or what happens when the instance is low on people and basically everyone's in the BA? No one's outside to clear fates. What then?
It's a lot of outside elements that influence how well you can perform or even progress in there that don't make sense with their involvement.
So disappointed to find out the music for this mount is just the default Borderless theme. I was hoping for Ominous Prognisticks.
Yea this was a problem for EU yesterday (before df fried itself) the instance had 10s left on fate when they killed it that fate seems tuned to everyone in arsenal + everyone outside and only 8 people can enter after fate is killed so we now going to be planning a callout when we are about to spawn that fate. It does give 10 crystals so there is that motivation
They need to make it easier to get the 6th and 7th magicite. I've probably killed those mobs in Pyros dozens of times each and haven't gotten one drop. I hope the Hydatos+2 gear does help... it definitely seems like they made this like a WoW raid, where you have to beat your head against the enemies over and over to get better gear to make it more manageable... except they added a huge punishment for failing.
We used a dedicated "support" group for handling the 2nd NM that spawns later on. Once that NM dies, you gain additional portals to head inside (these are the last 8 portals to go in). So if you're looking to create dedicated groups for your own clear, you should include a similar support group for that purpose, and they can join you inside in time for AV and Ozma.
Generally speaking, the others in our instances were very nice and willing to help us. My other comment in this thread mentions how we used a support group whose job was to stay outside initially to handle the 2nd NM that pops, and they can then take the additional portals that spawn to join us in time for Absolute Virtue. The HP scaling for the NM is also dependent on the number of people in your instance, so if you get a fresh instance with only the 56 people coming for BA, the 8 man support group can easily kill the NM themselves.
That's dependent on a lot of variables and "what ifs", anywhere between player willingness and instance population. It's concerning, to say the least. You could get the max gear and have a frigging static for that sort of thing but because you went in there with other people in the instance all of that effort can go to waste because the enemies will be scaled. Sharing the scaling makes sense from a lazy developer standpoint that I really hope they'll change.
