You're still missing the point. The Joycon is not meant for ease of use for an MMO in mind and with XIV's toggle hotbars. I imagine trying to manage multiple hot bars on those things would be not fun at all and somewhat challenging, even worse if you had them apart. So, not only would the Switch be limited in hardware, but now primary functions with a controller. The reason that the Xbox controller works so well is BECAUSE the Xbox was also designed in mind with games having online, competitive multiplayer capabilities that would need more precise button inputs and control.
Even using a Gamecube controller for XIV would feel clunky and weird with hot bar management controls, pet controls, jobs with more complex rotations, and in-game actions that utilize R3.
It's possible, but it would also feel like a severe downgrade at the same time in comparison towards what we have now.
