I wish we had more info on the DA effects and what they'll bring but I am happy about these changes, looks like i'll be sticking with Drk after all so i'm glad I don't have to switch to anything else.
This is a thread about balance. Idk how you guys thought SE was stupid enough to keep
letting pld have the highest damage and overwealminly more raid utility than the other two. War and drk are going to be In a much better place but it is by no means kicking pld out, those utility eclipses the other two. I love the changes the only thing I feel was not properly addressed was drk's lack of mitigation, it needs a boost for sure other than that we golden now.
Looks like PLD still has the best tools to be OT.

Sheltron, PoA, intervention, clemecy, holy spirit, reqriwhatever, countless CD's, two DoT's, etc.
Yeah poor PLD right? You see the reaction PLD players have when WAR gets buffed? Makes you wonder if they cared more about being better then us then actually believing in the stuff they said about WAR being fine because it has mitigation.

For Full Parties, no argument there. I was thinking Light Parties. I should've stated. Unless you're running whole dungeons with Deliverance. Also Shirk meta has yet to become widespread, as far as I've found, so no penalty will help with swaps if you're co-tank's reluctant to embellish your vokes.
tank dps > tank mitigation utility. Anyone who doesn't see this is either ignorant or purposefully turning a blind eye for self gain.
War and Drk right now do more damage then PLD so this didn't really needed to be changed. Tanks are fairly balanced right now in terms of damage with dark and war doing slightly more dps overall then pld. People were saying paladin does high damage when using holy spirit but you have to take into account the whole fight not just 1 high burst phase of a rotation.

Yes I agree with you OP! As a fellow WAR main I am jibbled with excitement that PLD is getting nerfed and WAR is getting buffed! Tank "balance" is back to the glory days of Heavensward!

I did hence why I said "unbuffed" pld has higher potencies across the board, is buffed more often for more total time than the other two with requiescat and fof and are the only tank with dots. Two of them. Don't be dumb actually look into the logs, no buffs? Pld wins. With buffs? Pld wins.
Gonna need to see the numbers that were adjusted on PLD/DRK/WAR first before I go crying WAR OP - hopefully they didn't goof it up again, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Glad to hear they're adding STR to accessories since that was the ideal change, hopefully that includes locking out the i270 Slaying accessories as well.
Stance dance penalty change is both good and bad. Good because it was clunky to begin with and something needed to be done about it. Bad because this returns WAR's stance dancing to being way more fluid than PLD/DRK's. PLD/DRK's still has an advantage in that you get the immediate effect of it, but I feel like they might as well be all oGCD at this point.
e: Also just read that SP is getting a damage buff? Seems strange but I guess it is our most used combo so fair enough.
I'm pretty sure PLDs that think its damage is not obscenely high are just bad and unable to get those kind of numbers, ever, so they want things to always be imbalanced in their favor.
That said, my biggest concern right now is that DRK's utility is not THAT great. Everyone talking about how "DRK has utility and Blackest Night is amazing", and while TBN is amazing, the utility aspect is not what's amazing at all. A 10% HP shield is simply not that amazing.
I'm not so sure that losing a single Holy Spirit per minute is going to significantly nerf PLD to the point that its utility is not seen as pretty much essential in prog. So, with that assumption out of the way, if WAR brings major DPS and DRK brings a 10% HP shield, I really don't see myself going DRK, which is sad because it's my main and I love the theme, but with how boring it is right now and the fact that I would rather bring more DPS than a 10% HP shield for tank busters, it's not looking good to me.
It's a step in the right direction, but it won't be enough, in my opinion.
Was doing a parody of what I would imagine most WAR's reaction to seeing their main class getting buff and PLDs getting nerfed. If anything it's laughable how you are happy with PLD getting nerfed PLD getting nerfed when it really wasn't needed. SE just needed to buff WAR and DRK up to par
You know, honestly the only parody I'm interested in seeing is the one of all the PLDs telling WARs, "Yeahhh how does it feel now that the shoe is on the other foot!?" and "You had your time, now it's our time to be on top!", rather than fighting for balance like the rest of the sane tanking community.
As someone said pretty much, I was talking about DRK's utility, meaning the value of the shield when used on another. TBN is possibly the best self-mitigation tool in the game, imho.

So Ninja was nerfed and Samurai wasn't, last time I check Samurai was the OP one lol
And I saw WARs gloating over other tanks about their six fell meme cleaves and their rush in attack while spouting they are still the top spot for tanks after the Live Letter XXXV. But that isn't the point, I just find the whole animosity towards other tanks to be in poor taste. Wishing ill will other tank classes to get nerfed because they do a little bit more damage than you just seems childish to me. And when the nerf does happen they show joy over it, case in point the OP post

Well look at it this way, what does Samurai bring to a raid/group asides from big damage? Ninja has plenty of tools that helps the group/raid, SAM having big damage is their uniqueness. the Dev Team will make the proper adjustments eventually. I'm just glad Paladin is in the position it is right now and the Holy Spirit nerf won't affect it as much.
But what do I know I'm just a dude playing another dude while leveling that dude.
