I definitely understand complaining about the stupid EU magazine campaign, and I could even understand complaining about the JP 7-11 campaign, but I don't understand how anyone could complain about the NA Amazon campaign. Last time we could literally get the codes for free (although it looks like they've covered the loophole about pre-ordering games this time). Even without that, we still only have to spend $20 on stuff we would probably get anyway (or just get a FFXIV game card), and we don't even have to leave the house.
In case SE decides to repeat the same promotion for the items, it'll be a good idea to already bookmark the French lodestone page. Near the end of the previous promotion, amazon.fr had a promotion similar to the NA one (spend €20 on video games), and it worked for people living outside France as well. Might need some help from Google translate when ordering something, but it beats having to get some kind of magazine.
Not only do you have the best promotion just like you did last time as a NA region (Buy 1 time card), but you don't even bother to read about said promotion before having a tantrum on the forums which does nothing but highlight your ignorance.
Everyone in the EU regions would gladly swap promotions...
Heads up all if you order digital items that count it takes 1-3 days for the email. The promo codes wait for a payment to fully clear. Just how the automated system works got an email explaining that
So you'd rather pay money just for only digital items than pay money to buy a game/controller/game time and get the digital items at the same time?
*rests head on desk* Well I can foresee the EU getting shafted again, I couldn't even buy the magazine last time as it was either sold out in places that could have it / the cornershops and the like didn't know wtf magazine I was on about / it was also sold out online.
It can't be that hard for them to do an Amazon promotion on the EU branches surely? I mean even if they only managed it on the UK Amazon as an example, at least then, people in France, Spain, Germany, Italy etc could still make use of it.
I have said the same thing some times ago and was attacked by some Members.
They want to please their own people. They don't care about the rest of the world
It's not trivial. It shows how they feel about the playerbase outside of Japan.
I have never seen such behaviour in another MMORGP.
Imagine WoW would do that. Handing out Items to NA Players weeks or month before the rest of the playerbase can have them.
I will not buy Stormblood because I'm sure that SE will not stop doing this. This behaviour will go on as long as SE is selling their product in EU and NA.
Thanks for the help guys. O/
All working now
Here we go again with the crying.....
I might be tempted by this offer - if not for the fact that the last promotion (maid, butler, masks) are STILL consuming twelve of my inventory slots. And now they want me to reserve six more? No thanks.
Maybe if they'd made this promotional gear Armoire-storable, I'd consider it.
That's fair enough. I had a tiny moment of panic when the new 7-11 promotion was announced, but that was quickly replaced by confidence that NA would probably get something akin to the previous Amazon promotion, eventually. I can only imagine the fear EU players must be feeling, wondering if they'll get another shitty magazine promo, or maybe even worse.
Guys, stop complaining. Just buy a time card. Don't sit here and tell me you're not going to sub to the game anyway. I'm looking at you OP.
You don't even have to pay shipping for a time card, they mail you code almost insantly. So Free shipping, extra account time, and your redeemable extras. I do not see the down side.
Amazon is fine. THANK YOU SE.
I don't know which region OP is in but like this post says:
EU accounts can't simply buy game time or expansion and be done since the codes won't work on our accounts. A lack of information about possible future availability is also a thing.
I wish I could get the items via Amazon! We're going to have to deal with magazine BS all over again, even though we have Amazon in Europe, it's ridiculous.
This promo does not work for anyone outside the US. Canadians gets screwed yet again. We are unable to purchase anything off .com because items (including a 60 day time card) are unavailable for purchase due to geographical restrictions... because apparently the promo is only for "NA Accounts" and Canada is not part of North America. lol :(
um buy a physical game? pre-order an upcoming one? buy a controller? these all work
I do like the idea of buying something else I want and getting the codes too, but the world is a big place and that's an issue for a lot of people (also offering different items in a campaign is an issue too imo), perhaps in the future they can partner up with the best companies they can AND also include a way to purchase them through the mogshop directly if one desires.
I think many would actually go buy something from Amazon for $20 or so, rather than paying 15$ to get the codes direct, but for those who don't want to use the other methods this could be a helpful reliable alternative.
So when Japan starts it's campaign, everyone can buy them from the mogshop or they can wait for their campaign. And no one gets more or less items.
EU is pretty big so ideally they pick better partnerships (less obscure than magazines only lol), but even then not everyone is in Japan, EU, or NA territories - so an alternative would be helpful and one that is always a parity of items available in the campaign that is active.
All this could be solved by just putting them on the mogstation so everyone would be able to get it at any time or even do an SE store promotion which I assume they'd have much more control over with were they can do it.
I'd tell you to just buy game time, but they just ran out of those for now.
WoW had the same bias towards NA with their TCG items and expansions/patches being released earlier (Legion being the exception). So I wouldn't call them innocent. But I will agree that SE and FFXIV are among the absolute worst when it comes to limiting items. 0 support.
And the Stormblood hype ship I boarded so that ship has sailed for me...
I bought Mario Cart 8 while I wait for the expac so... it really doesn't bother me.
Already mentally prepared for EU getting shafted once more. I really wished SE would put these on the Mogstation and make things much easier for everyone. Berret, I'm also in the US with an EU account due to moving and all I wished was that SE would let me change the region to the correct one /buriesfaceinhands
Please not another shady magazine promo SE /pray
Without a current generation console, it's really a struggle to find something I want to buy, especially because most of it isn't eligible. I'd rather not resort to buying game time, though I will if I have to.
could have given it for spending $20 or more on mogstation instead, especially since so many players just bought time cards.
RIP EU.

I just don't understand this promotion or the one last year. What exactly does SE gain from people buying products that aren't made by SE? Seriously, how does me buying a 20 dollar XBL card benefit SE, or I should say 14? 14 isn't even on the Xbox so SE doesn't make a penny from this. I can't recall ever meeting anyone who bought 14 strictly because they got promo items from a sale either, now that I think about it.
Not sure why people are complaining. We will get ours though Gamesmaster magazine soon lmao :P
I'm part of the ever forgotten EUROPEAN UNION. For future reference could we also get this sort of deals too? Thanks x
