This is what i expected amd I'm good with it. Keep your expectations low and the only surprises you get are pleasant ones.

Does the story and/or world space have a need for this kind of thing? Last time I checked I the player solved all this stuff. There is no need for this army of X grand company.

PREACH
Garrisons were the worst thing ever WoW ever implemented. I'm pretty aggravated that squeenix thought they were a good idea.
FFXIV does not want or need the equivalent of a facebook game. I mean, we already have the Gold Saucer for that

Actually Garrisons weren't a problem. Problem was Garrisons were the only thing to do in WoD. They were also mandatory. Neither is true for Squadrons.

you point out the trouble, they are core feature that need time for be upgraded, player are unpatient. now with the man power they have, they need to take time and prefer give us the core featureand increase them with time. what don't bother me much.

the squadron have a lot of potential, right now it will be at you to level up your squadron. after all, the story is slowly leading us to the war with the empire. yes guys, that the whole point, we are going soon to enter war with the empire. as officier of the GC we will probably have mission with this squadron for the GC. if they use the squadron and what they did learn from the palace of the dead it can be a nice feature for solo playing.

people always say group/raid is the must, true, but when you have only 1-2 hours and no one for play with you, having interesting content you can do is always welcome. and anyway.... it's only a choice offer to us. people can do it or not do it, up to them.

Until he sees noone is doing it a few weeks after release so he makes some future content rely on it to make sure it is seeing use (lets look at how many times we have been forced to revisit old content like hest's, fates, old dungeons, irrelevant trials, through story/relics/etc) leaving anyone who didnt do it from the start to play catch up.

Dont really care where this system goes to be honest as I have friends I do dungeons with, it screams WoW's garrisons to me which was an incredibly unpopular thing from that game so it baffles me as to why they would copy it but I will begrudgingly do it like a good little soldier because like when they added the rewards to the old world beast tribes but only to those who were capped ranks (materia and relic progression items) I would prefer to not be behind when they do make some sort of reward be it mandatory or quality of life improvement for those at cap.

To be fair, you basically did all this way back in Final Fantasy Tactics, and that predates WoW by nearly a decade.

If they didn't release "unfinished" content, then everyone would complain about there being no content....oh wait they already do that.

Since when wanting 100% day one stopped being standart? O_o No one is pushing them to release content now. If they need more development time/testing so be it. I don't understand how crap and dead content every 3 months is better than good and deep content every 6-9 months.

We are the testers in the development.. They do everything they can. Then give it to us to test for a few weeks befor doing any fixes.
And no there own test ppl don't know shit, other then a few bugs. We the players are the main test group!

We're so close to a new expansion pack that they might better hold off some stuff till they make it good. Plus who said some of the feature squadron features will work on PS3 for example? Not only PS4/PC?

They might be waiting to cut off PS3 players with the expansion pack features.

Pardon my ignorance as i've never played Wow but, i heard few times now that Squadrons are being compared to Garrisons and that said Garrisons drove alot of people away from the game. Why exactly ?

No it not the same ppl form wow are just over reacting again. WoWs Garrison crap was just NPCs doing shit for you.. The Squadrons system is not like that you can LV them fight with them train them and gear them all over time.. Use them in Dungens and more(Not right away but soon) So no it not like the WoW crap. Not by a long shot.

The follower system is one of my least favorite thing in WoW. Squadrons sound pretty boring now. If we can take them to dungeons one day and do more with them that may be neat. Looking forward to what we can do with them in 3.5.

I think the main reason why some players are disappointed with the current Squadrons is, because its a venture type of feature. I reckon everyone here was hoping to take our followers and do content with them, like in a dungeon. We have seen in the past that SE releases a new feature, they release one part of it and then nothing. What those players and myself to be honest is wondering, will we even get to take these Squadrons members to a dungeon or do something with them or will we get a Live Letter in 2017 where Yoshi-P says: "I am sorry, but we tried to create the second half of the Squadrons but, because of X or Y this will not be possible" then he will announce another new content that they have been working on and will tell us to look forward to.

If Yoshi-P told us that the second half of Squadrons is working and will be added, I doubt anyone here would complain, we would all be leveling our Squadron and preparing for the content to take them to dungeons/open-world.

There is no if we can.. We will..they alrdy said so

This is looking like a day late and a dollar short. for something that was pushed back to 3.4...I was hoping to interact with the squadron, take them places, perhaps a bit of customization or personality like the path companions. This is none of these things.

It is disappointing that they're basically just ventures. Retainers, airships, now platoons. Not a huge difference for now. We'll see in the future.

So, what do you want? You want SE not to release anything for a year until they "finish" everything? That's not why I subscribed for. FFXIV is a theme park MMO with a lot of different things to do. This is what FFXIV is. If you want something else than that, something with very deep features released only every bisextile year, this isn't the game you're looking for.

Besides, platoon management isn't "half-finished". It is complete and ready to be released. If you wanted the "complete set of features regarding platoons that there will ever be in this game", then you'd have to wait for another year.. and who guess we'd see complaining on the forum that there's "no new things"? So, yeah. Platoon management is done and will be released. Deat with it, dear entitled always angry customer.

"Done and will be released" yet it is not done, nor releasing with the features hoped for. people voices what they wanted or desired with squardrons, and the foundation of this is not promising. This is important because that foundation is what is going to be built on, so if that is poor, that is not only not going away, but will only built around instead of revised.

Please don't start with me on something you obviously are oblivious too.

Would I prefer SE release systems that a fully fleshed out and offer more than 20 minutes to content at release? Hell yeah I do.

FFXIV can have hundreds of theme park attractions and if 0 of them offer anything of value or continue to linger in maluse due to half finished mechanics and potential. What is the appeal in that I ask?

What use are Grand Companies right now?
What use are the old PVP arenas?
What use is Diadem right now and even in the 4.0 patch with the gear it supplies being allready useless and no real changes to the system to make it more appealing even in sight?
Will company crafting ever expand to be something more usefull than to advance your glorified airship retainer ventures?

I could go on about the games systems that get released and then left to rot. If they had a habbit of actually coming back to these in a good way I wouldn't complain but their track record is shoddy at best.

I have to say I would rather have this particular feature delayed until it had more meat. XIV really didn't need a 3rd Venture system in my opinion.

I would have settled for being able to use them as AI companions in the field and some Grand Company related story missions to accompany rank ups (similar to the story instances where you're accompanied by npcs in game already) even if SE couldn't get them ready for full dungeon mechanics at launch.

White knight? I'm just the one who has already figured out that this is their way of doing things for more than 3 years now. How long will it takes you to see that? You are literally asking for them to completly change the way this game is being developed.
Besides, what I like or dislike has absolutly nothing to do with white knighting. If their way of releasing content suits my needs and expectations, but not yours, it's only down to subjectivity and differences in standards... which is also subjective.

And yes, I'll keep being me, as it makes me able to enjoy that game way more than you do apparently, so no reason why I would want to change.
