Does it count as naming and shaming if the OP is naming and shaming them self?

Had you first asked this would not have been a big deal i think, really would it of been so hard to do? You will not be banned though.
Our FC i have ranks set up, officer rank, rank for crafters, etc.. even if they have permission to purchase items via fc credits they always ask me beforehand, and i usually consult with my officers.
Will you get banned? No. Is it a dick move? very much so
OP next time someone accuses you of stealing a picture - just tell them you've been framed.
Actually, I'm pretty sure some players who were hopping FC's and emptying the contents of their chests on my old server got banned.
Sure, it's the FC leaders fault for not having their ranks set up properly, but using their credits which they earned and spending them for yourself and then leaving is extremely rude and you probably should get banned for doing that imo.
You won't get banned but what you did was poor. Don't do that again cause people do work hard to get stuff for everyone in their FC to share with permission
THIS ISN'T ROBBING
If using FC credits is robbing, then joining an FC just to purchase "Heat of Battle" for personal use should be robbing to.
Thing is, the OP never stated the reasons for leaving and honestly, that isn't any of our business. OP just asked for a yes or no question, not an "Explain your SJW reason to show your work".
Here're the facts we're presented with.
-OP joined an FC
-OP purchased pictures using company credits
-OP had permission to use the company credits that belong to all members of the FC, not the leads and their officers.
-OP left after purchasing the items. We don't know how long the OP left after the purchase though. This information is an unknown. It's possible the FC didn't make it a big deal until the OP left.
-OP is now being threaten with being banned which is a form of harassment.
-OP thinks what they did was wrong.
-What OP took isn't even tradable or sold on the MB. This is literally the only way to acquire the items.
-What OP took isn't even a big deal. For whatever reason, the OP decided to leave. The leaders should probably figure that out first before accusing a member of ditching an FC as that just goes to show they didn't really care about that individual member within their walls.
Anyway... my point is... it's just company credits. Can you even call it stealing? It was points accumulatively earned by all members of the FC including the OP. The points are free and cost the FC virtually nothing. They didn't steal from the company chest. They didn't take a bunch of materia, crafting mats, airship parts, crystals, or gil from the chest. They just took something that's more or less free. Is what they did really that bad that we have to go all SJW on them and say they should be player banned? Because if so, that just goes to show you how sensitive and uptight this community really is. Then again, this is the same community that wants to ban people for early pulling hunts.
OP you did nothing wrong. It wasn't even stealing, you didn't rob them of funds. You even contributed to the use of earning FC points, which could possibly entitle you to the use of them because you had permissions to use them. If it's still stealing for whatever reason, then it's the leaders fault. You have nothing to be ashamed of.
You won't get banned.
Lol I know you, I met you when you were asking in pf for an FC, you joined us then left the next day without saying anything. Now that you've admitted to this, I'm glad I assigned you to an appropriate rank. Look all you had to do is ask, even if you have the privileges and especially if it's only you benefitting from it. Those credits were earned by everybody in that FC, remember that.
Is there any wonder people are disliking the community more and more when people think this is acceptable behaviour?
@ Vivi_Bushido
Hardly an SJW, but it would be one thing the to use Heat of the Battle as that benefits the FC, the OP, used these for themselves and of no benefit to the rest of the FC, since they left and took the portraits with. She could have placed them in the FC house just as easily to see "what they looked like" and placed them back in the chest.
This comment made me laugh. "I don't have time to wait that long".
You do something that is rude to begin with and now you don't have time to see if you will be punished? Who cares if it's against ToS it's just disrespectful. So just sit there and wait to see if you get some type of punishment. It probably won't come from SE, but the community itself.
Assumptions can only be made when there isn't enough facts to support a claim. And because we're lacking facts I cannot agree that what the OP did was wrong until further facts present themselves.
What if I used a different buff then? What if I wanted to use the buff to reduce the weakness timer because I wanted to do the sac strat in AS4? Would that then not be for personal us full well knowing I would be the only one to benefit? I agree with you they could be put back in the chest, however seriously... they don't belong to the FC. Not everything has to. It's just as selfish to make them put it in the chest as it is for them to keep it. There's no point in putting it in the chest if the FC house wasn't going to use it themselves, it would be just as good to simply discard the items at that point. Let them have it if it's just gonna rot away in the chest. Better for somebody to use them then nobody at all.
the only question to ask truthfully is
OP : Why do you ask if you are going to be baned ? you have done what you have done even if you would be baned is too late to do anything against it.
So conclusion : you want attention....unfortunately for my taste you got too many of it already that you dont deserve beyond the answer yes/no
Whenever I want to see what things look like before I buy them, I search on the internet.
Anyway, even though you can take it without asking doesn't mean you should. Common courtesy.
If someone invited you into their home for the first time and said "make yourself at home", would it be okay to just to open up their fridge and begin eating their food? And then just leave? Without saying anything?
It's still polite to ask.
You couldn't spend all of 30 seconds using google image search or visiting one of the popular ffxiv furniture sites? I would apologize and at least pay them for the portraits if not return them if you haven't bound them yet. You already said you knew it was a bad move. You can't undo it, but you can at least try to even the scales.
You posting making this thread proves you have a guilty conscience. It's like you're looking for reassurance in what you've done. I'm not the one for drama, I'll keep silent about it, but you better hope others from faerie doesn't see this. Rumours might spread, y'know?
I am curious if this is this person's MO. Does this type of behavior carry over to people in the Marriage hookup mega thread you have posted in continuiously? Would you take from someone in that situation as well or do you see that differently? Just curious as to the motivation overall in the gaming environment as there are always going to be opportunists.
I think it was careless of the FC but it isn't something that would cross my mind to do anyway as I tend to be in an FC and stay and hang out with those people long term. But I know not everyone is looking to make friends. Idc if you get banned but it does raise an interesting question.
I doubt you get banned, but it sure does speak volumes about your character as a person. A good example of the type of weed I keep pulled out of my life.
You basically steal from them (even if the leader didn't set them correctly) but seeing as your posting this you obviously feel you did something wrong and knew it from the start. You may not be banned but next time you have people being rude to you on the server need to remember this cus I am sure word will get around. It also goes further to people wondering why some people can be absolute jerks and not care about others, cus instances like this start to break them down and refuse to trust new people.
@ Vivi_Bushido
Type of buff is irrelevant, although if you are referring to Back on Your Feet buff, how does that not help everyone regardless of what they are running? Maybe someone else may have wanted them and could put the portraits in their private chamber?
Are you all serious he used a small amount of fc points in a fc with a lot of credits where his fc rank granted him the use of fc points.
I run a fc and we have more credits than needed for. What did the fc need them for. Buffs? Airships? You can handle all this for a week on about 50k credits, during which time you usually generate that much if your fc is active anyway.
Sheesh people. Just really? I do not have my fc ask me if they want to buy something that takes a small fraction of our fc credits.
By that logic I could be invited into a rich persons home and take some cash or stuff? I mean it's not like they need it, they have TONS. They can just replace it or may not even miss it at all. The main point is she never even asked. Even if the door is left open you don't just walk into someone's bedroom and start taking stuff.
Sorry, but why would you do something like that? Never mind that there's Google images for a reason but why would you basically want your reputation to plummet and be called a thief and be frowned upon by many in your server/forums? Its just morally wrong on many levels and I really hope you don't something like that to another FC that gives you a certain amount of trust.
If you had a sign outside that read "if you come into my house you have permission to take what you want." Then yes.
It's the principle of the matter. Taking something and then bailing like that, regardless of what it is, is a shitty, scum thing to do. And the OP proved that's the kind of person they are. They won't be banned from the game for it, but I sincerely hope that the FC's on her server blacklist her and don't let her into any more FC's, cuz who knows what she'll take from them next time.
So OP, come back and correct me if I've got this wrong:
You joined a FC. In fact, reading through the thread it appears you might have joined several in quick succession while looking for one with permissions you could take advantage of (possible grounds for a ban there, if that is the case). Then, once you were a member of this company, you bought things with their seals and immediately left them.
This part of your post annoyed me:
You did a scummy action but the Company Leader is really the one to blame? No, you need to take responsibility for what you did. They are not to blame at all, they probably had things set up that way because the rest of their membership behaved decently and were trustworthy.
The real shame is that companies often end up tightening their permissions, not because they don't trust the majority of their members (because most people wouldn't do something like this) but simply to protect them from people like you.
I only read the first page so my apologies if this information was already provided. There was a GM response to a similar situation in the past (17 pages long) debating whether or not it would be considered stealing from an FC even though you were granted permissions to access the chest etc.
Topic: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...can-do-nothing.
GM responded on Page 15:
Thus, GM's will look into these situations. Getting banned for spending company credits would probably be a bit extreme but might be possible if they found malicious chat logs etc. IE. Admitting you sabotaged the FC on purpose.
A person's character dictates every action they take. A person who is morally bankrupt, will show symptons of that in every single area of their life- In the smallest actions they take, to the biggest. People leave evidence to their future with every step in their past. This is why its so stupid to get into relationships with people who have exhibited a clear lack of character in their past. Its why cheaters always cheat, and abusers always abuse. Their character dictates the code to which they live their lives. It infects their very perspective on life. They do not live their life by the same high moral code that many others do. Selfish actions are justified by blaming the victim for allowing it to happen (as in this case) I say all that to say yes, someone who has shown you their ability to be self absorbed and lacking of a high moral code, will likely exhibit that same behavior in every area of their life. If they will steal a 5 cent piece of bubble gum from a dollar star, you should assume they are also capable of stealing a new car. Someone who has a high moral code would steal neither, because they do not consider the value of the item being stolen, rather the act of theft itself. Individuals with a flawed character often focus on the value, rather than the act itself, as a way of justification. This is what defines personal integrity.
People have done this many times before cleaning out FC chest/credits and running off and they never gotten in trouble cause simply the FC failed to set up their system correctly. Unless something has changed most likely only thing you have to worry about is a bad rep in the community.
