Afcourse we are entitled, if one half of the playerbase gets the option to get more glamour, isnt it only fair to request for the other half to get it aswell? SE has made glamour an important part of this game, alot of casuals only do dungeons for those glamours. I'd say at most a 1.5 if that's allowed.
We have very little community representation, the GMs on our board are as mystical as a blue moon, only showing up when something gets a high level of upvotes from what I can tell. They don't even engage in general discussion, it would be a good sign if we had GMs show us proof they play this. It's like SE lists on their job responsibility page that GMs have to be antisocial.
As far as things getting translated into game, obviously that's awful, ya, they added a few things this community called for but really there is a ton of things they drop the ball harder then Shaq at the free throw line, things that could make the game all the more better.
I mean, I've been away from this game now for 3 weeks, prior to that I was doing every Tuesday, but now I'm playing other games that are more engaging, that brought out new content, and feel more complete. I've got no reason to play here, don't even want my Wild Rose vet reward.
So no, I don't think they do a good job at all. And it's a shame too, 840 days subbed, all the effort I put into the game, and I feel like in the end SE doesn't even care. -

This trend toward rng is catered to the eastern playerbase.
This type of feature seems prevalent in ftp imports ported over to the west, but I don't like to see it in a sub based AAA mmo.
Then we have the most recent events:
PotD - with the well published outcome of intentional wiping, quitting at last boss etc - which is still occurring after the recent changes.
Yo-Kai - pure imported......well let's just say not to my taste.
I feel a re-visiting of the ARR game's roots by the development team would be welcome. A return to a more story aligned focus and less 'fluff' content.
I would really welcome a Garlean invasion about now. -

Under considerable pressure they will communicate with the fans, but let's be honest, it is not like it once was. In addition, whether it is the lack of communication or the release schedule or the devs inability/unwillingness to do so, there are long term problems with the game that have yet to be fixed. Chocobo companion, RMT, the token treadmill becoming old hat and discouraging players. Walking back statements and promises don't help. -

Hahahah @ the "listen to the jp" replies. Yeah lemme tell ya...blizzard totally listened to their NA players and Oh look at that...they have the most subs and success.
I've never played wow but I have a ton of friends that did/do and they all tell me they love the game because the GMs listen and they all feel the developers listen. Even when going to a random forum or fb page its clear to see blizzard listens to their players. I am also best friends with a blizzard dev and yes he says they do listen. Or at least they make their customers feel as of their concerns are valid.
So, let's see how listening to mainly only one side keeps workin out. Everyone acts entitled, stop putting a race of people on a pedestal, it's embarrassing . Do you ever go to 2chbbs? That is entitlement +1. Do you even know how the jp on there mocked ffxiv, held a funeral for 1.0 and demanded wow and said f ffxiv they are going to play wow? I wonder how many here praising the jp player base actually read their posts and know what I know.
Also I don't really feel like ffxiv devs listen anymore, they did in 1.x days, now the most popular threads get ignored. They used to be fantastic with listening, now..not really. Live letters are rather boring...i mean look at the last one, they answered a bunch questions from balmung about emotes and furniture's...while ignoring all the huge threads lol... -

It's probably a 3 or 4, in general. It's hard to say whether they really accept feedback from Japanese players more often or make changes in accordance with Japanese player complaints instead of doing so for NA/EU feedback, though.
By and large, most of them time when they've made changes to things, the feedback has been consistent across regions—much of the recent feedback regarding the RNG in Palace of the Dead was coming from both the English-speaking regions and the Japanese playerbase. I'm not personally aware of any instances in which they sided with JP feedback that was specifically counter to NA/EU feedback. I'm not really aware of any major instances in which criticism or feedback has been markedly different between the two, either.
But outside of that, I actually think SE takes player feedback into account a lot more for FFXIV than they did for FFXI and far more than Blizzard did for WoW, as well. -

It is only natural that feedback from us won't be taken in as strongly. I don't condone it, they should be listening to everyone more, but that is how it is. -

Looking at how Blizzard is treating the console player base in regards to Overwatch pretty resoundly wrecks the idea of them listening to fans, considering they've literally walled off console players from using their US forums outside of bug reporting, as access to group gathering threads and discussion threads require an ID code only on the PC version, and made it pretty clear they aren't interested in changing it. Mind you, the EU forums are free to all users. It's only the US forum that has arbitrary gating.
It's made the PC Master Race trolls tear any section with console players a new one with little to no repercussions as those areas are barely touched by the GM's and tech support. Adding fuel to the fire, they are seen monitoring and helping threads for PC users dealing with issues of any kind.
This is on top of their lobsided patch schedule, weird balancing, lack of text chat inclusion despite leaving the UI for AI opponents to use, and forcing consoles to pay for the more expensive edition.
And the bugs! The patch day bugs!
So, yeah, Blizzard as it currently stands really isn't setting the best example on how to treat and communicate to their fanbase. -

I think the language difference is part of the reason for the disconnect, that and the fractured nature of the NA/EU players....and I think they see JP as their "main" market. I've had suggestions made through the game client show up in patches and I don't doubt that they try to include us.
We don't make it easy on community dev with 5 theads on the same subject though. When you're trying to quantify what the players care about, it's much easier to see "We'd like x improvement" with a large number of posts and likes and convey that as a priority for NA/EU players than trying to chug through endless variants of the exact same topic and a few opposition topics. -

As an EU player coming from WoW i can tell ya that they are doing just fine.
Blizzard have decided to keep all eu players in a separate forum, making them unable to participate in discussion with the devs. The few posts they recieve are copied from us forums. The one time i remember the blizzard team mentioning EU players was in their 2014 documentary. In this film they insulted eu players indirectly stating that they unable to provide feedback.
Sorry for the wall of text/rant, just letting yall know, better to be partially ignored than full on neglected and eventually insulted. -

It helps that interviewers usually at least have a few questions mixed in with the soft balls that actually address real issues.
They'd also probably listen more if the community did a better job of organizing and presenting their criticism in a productive manner.
Also, as a community, with how crappy our behavior is at times, we don't exactly make their jobs any easier. Just look at Yoshida's recent response to removing GC restrictions from Frontlines. He's considering it but worries about the way we will abuse it. In some of the discussions regarding the interview, people are already proposing numerous ways to abuse the removal of GC restrictions. People might make some argument regarding human nature but sometimes it's not about what you can do but what you should do. If SE didn't have to deal with so much blow back from the exploitation of their systems, they might be more willing to just push changes out. -

But Lightning items are on MogStation and you can buy some primal mounts for 99 tokens, so clearly they are listening and selectively agreeing/providing to some popular feedback.
That being said, there is a natural bias towards the feedback you, yourself as a direct developer can go and read in your downtime/playtime because its in the language you actually speak. -
