So just did some spiritbonding with a single set of carbonweave gear, head, body, hands, legs and feet. End result was three T4 command, 1 T4 cunning and a T5 competence. Each piece was HQ, had 2 materia added, with +11 spirit bonding (right side + potion) it took about 140 griffin leather strap quicksynths to spiritbind. Anyone else try converting a set into materia?
Any tips for hitting the cap for ironworks on my weaver here?
I don't really wanna use that cruddy oyster confit food but looks like I might have to, that or get rid of some of my 180 pieces.

You have better gear than me ... but to answer your question :
I kept 500 red script on me, and I'm going to buy 13 goblin dice on Thursday (10 now and make 200 red script for the rest) in order to get the i200 Main Hand, that shoots me way above the requirement, it should do the same for you
Unless you spent all your scripts, in which case ... you could craft the i190 chest, but it will be costly
glass fiber drops in aquapolis aswell

this is the gear i'm gonna be using to reach the stat cap to make the new i190 specialist stuff, i already had the right side and belt melded and a few i170 left side stuff from being 3 star on my specialists in 3.2. the i170 omni stuff was really easy to make and only cost me around 700k give or take me being lazy for some mats.
using seafood stew for the missing control.
Posted this in another thread. Here's a minimum setup for those of you in i150 stuff... I think this is the most cost effective way. Keep the right side for awhile The Ironworks stuff isnt' that much better. http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/UCH2
I've heard that Glass Fiber also comes from i180 red (now blue) scrip gear. Anyone able to confirm which pieces? Maybe the tools desynth into them too just like the good old days with Artisan Saws.
I think the green gear is pretty helpful to craft 3 star gear isn't it? (Or to make i190?)
I dont understand one thing.
I Read that 180 scrip gear its buyable with blUE scrip.its possibile to go full 180 and then craft the 190 omni? Ive enought stats for it? I dont have much time to spend and Ill try to find better way to craft 3*
It is possible yes. Here's one way with "seafood stew HQ" (you need to add the Free Company Bonus +10 Control and +5 Craftsmanship):

Left side blue, except belt, tools 180, right side acessories white and enough CP for Rath's Rotation.
If you invest into the ilvl 200 tool and/or Body, it is even easier. If you switch to ilvl 170 belts and accessories, it will become much easier.
I made the i190 bodypiece hq last night. With all hq mats (my alchemist friend got lucky at 42% and got me some hq luminous fibers :D), I had like 5000 initial quality, which made it really easy to hit 100%. My normal three star rotation worked just as well on this as it did the other things. Compared to my pentamelded i170 weaver chestpiece, the stats were roughly the same, with only minor of a few points (with the i190 unmelded so far), so it's definitely waaaaay better than i170.
Oh, the 3 hq luminous fibers alone gave me like 1200 or 1800 quality I think, I forget the exact amount but that should be roughly how much you get from the 3 hq fibers.
I'm sorry for the trouble, but I'd appreciate some help.
I've regularly been capping Red Scrips and purchasing Tokens for DoH/DoL,
I've never spent any of the tokens however, and I'm still wearing i150/i140 MH/OH, minimum melded Chimerical set for DoH (i150) and Serpentskin min melded for DoL (i150). I still have the 3 soul of crafters from the quest unlock, having never committed to a specialty. Also, I'm still wearing the max melded BiS accessories from 2.55. (Essentially I've been doing the Doh/Dol grind for months but never went passed the 'get your 9 weekly tokens,' part)
I suppose it would make sense for me to finally take the next steps in gear progression, but I'm wondering how I should best handle it with the 3.3 adjustments. Now with new gear, should I be trying to leap frog?
IIRC, I was told before to purchase the i180 BSM offhand tool, then with it craft the 2-star i170 Offhands and meld for other DoHs. Has this changed? Should I just buy the token belt/accessories, or is the crafted + melded necessary?
Essentially, what would you do in my situation? Obviously I'd like to move towards the universal set for omni-crafting as the 'end goal.' Tryng to catch up.
http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/UCTQ (never linked an ariyala set before myself, did I do it right?) Craftsmanship/Control/CP: 661, 648, 358. Not sure why Craft/Control is much lower on the link.
thanks for the help, I'm overwhelmed. I thought waiting would make things more simple, but now Im' more confused.
You must have a ton of red script token then?
Two options:
One:
Convert them to Blue (get 4 for each) and gear up everything but belt and accessories to the i180 (grind more Blue to do this if needed). Now craft the i170 belt and accessories from the old red script mats, which will now to super cheap, meld them up, you are now 3 star.
Two:
Get someone to craft you the i170 shared set. Convert those red script tokens to crafting materia, and meld the shared set up. 3 Star.
Personally, I would say option 1, as if you have the i180 mainhands you can then upgrade them to i200 over crafting the i195 potentially.
Thanks duuude, yea about 135 tokens, took a hiatus in Jan-March (Fallout 3). Trying to learn best bang for buck
Anyone know how to make the new Glamour stuff the Moonfire.
So, I'm very confused about one thing. They stated in patch notes that all of the Scrip cost of the i180 gear and tools was being significantly reduced, and most of it has. However, the off hand tools are still showing up as costing 26 Red Scrip tokens. Is this on purpose? Why reduce the main hand tools to 12 Blue Scrips, but leave the off hands costing a full three weeks of Red?
Yes. That system was a mistake in the first place, needed to die, and this patch was the appropriate time to kill it.
In 3.2, they made the most ridiculous grind with favors and crap to gear up crafters, with ZERO reward for doing so. There was nothing to craft if you geared up. By "nothing," I mean i180 battle gear that cost several million Gil worth of mats to make. No one would buy that when the uncapped tomestones gave 180.
SE had messed up badly. Never before in ARR had the grind been THAT bad and there be literally no reward. The forum was filled with threads of people talking about how crafting was dead. The market board for the crafted 180 battle gear was literally a sea of zeroes.
Nevertheless, a number of dedicated crafters spent the ridiculous amounts of time and Gil to gear up anyways, either for their pride as crafters or the hope that they would be rewarded in a future patch.
Yoshi decided to delay nerfing of the gear progression that would have normally occurred in 3.3 so that those who geared in 3.2 would be rewarded for their efforts. Those crafters had a great run in 3.3 and it is now time to stop making up for the mistakes of 3.2 and move forward with gear progression.
So as someone with basically nothing but i180 gear on a couple of classes and the rest 150 white melded gear, what is my best progression to eventually make the ironworks set this patch? Farm blue scrips to get 180 for all of my gear, craft 170 accessories and pentameld them? Will I be able to craft ironworks armor with that gear? For main hand off hand, do I craft the 170 or do I farm scrips to go 180->200 for each class? Is there a main hand/offhand craft higher than the 170 gear?
I know this is a catch up patch and I've been absolutely aching to catch up for a while now, I just am not 100% sure how to go about it. (Currently grinding blue scrips for master 4 books)
Rowena tokens did nothing but gate newer crafts, which served the exact opposite of what everyone wanted. This divides people up based on whether you want to casual craft (use red scrips for ilvl 200) or grind for the ilvl 195 set and meld it to be better. Much better approach. :D
anyone can tell me where the neo aetherstones drop? im looking for the body part
I want to know if it will be possible to craft these without melded gears if i choose the goblin cup gears path
Based on the stats shown on Ariyala, we will need an almost fully melded ilvl 170 set to meet the minimum requirements for Ironworks (Craftsmanship: 870; Control: 835). You can substitute food to avoid a little melding, but not much. Unless I'm misinterpreting something, this makes the ilvl 180 set completely worthless if not upgraded. You won't be able to meet the requirements with it. So preparation is to use red scrips for the old ilvl 170 set and meld either or use red scrips to upgrade the ilvl 180 set and work your way back.
Made the chest, miss my pimp suit already.
I'd glamour but then all my other crafters would be stuck looking hideous. /cry
remember that caps are for specialist only, wo.. we need count the 20/20 from the soul.
right now my BSM have 883 (if i remember well) craftmanship and control 812 with 170 MT(penta) + 170 OT (single) + 170 Hands (PENTA) + 170 waist (PENTA) + 170 ringsx2 (PENTA) and the rest is just new 170 (omni double meld IV), i still need 3 acc 170 and im pretty sure i can pass the cap with out food, today i going to finish my set and going to post for show.
Yes, but you'll need the entire left side though. That'll require 2,350 red scrips, which takes slightly over five weeks.
I did. Even with Soul of the Crafter's boost, you'll still need to meld 90% of the ilvl 170 sets or wait until you have the ilvl 200 in full. There is no way to reach the requirements with the ilvl 180.
