Thank you again. I have 6 zeta's, I suppose I'll upgrade those to 200 (seems easy enough), the 210 leg of this is something I have to decide if I want to do even once.

what bother me, is why ask 4 hq item for 1 item... especially if that some item crafter from rare ressource, not everyone craft and i'm kinda scared to see the price they will reach....
i really think they have gone too far with this quest... the number of item is insane
10 per item from Alexander is dumb... who will be sane enough for do 10 run of alexander for get the item...
you know the worst? they will tell us that we can do a mix of the different option. but will not admit that they have gone too far with this quest. worst, this weapon will be useless in 2-3 month with the 3.2.... if not already useless since some people have already i210 item.
they don't learn from them error and we are paying the price of the will to continue to repeat the same error over and over and over.
I wonder if PR is going through these threads thinking, "Oh dear, Yoshi done fucked up."
thats kinda funny considering the crafting stuff is the easy part. you're ok with an astronomical grind time but not ok with a small crafting req. logic....
so because you dont craft, its not fair? yup crafters make gil, suprising isnt it?
The problem I have with the crafting part is that not everyone is going to have the millions of gil to get this done. It then, creates a barrier to those people whom cannot afford that cost to get their relic weapon.
It's the amount needed per, when they did this with the last relic, it was just one each from each craft using desynth to get the item needed to craft.
It is just a bit odd for them to go from 1 HQ from each craft to now, 4 crafts have a base mat that are used in the other 4 crafts item but you need to HQ them oh and you also need 4 of each for a total of 16. The jump from 8 to 16 is just very out of place, had it just been 2 each it wouldn't be that bad in all honesty but making it 16 just seems overly excessive.
The main problem with the crafting part is that it requires different specialists all the way through (some the materials required to craft all 4 HQ final products also need specialists).
If it weren't for that, then sure: I'd be able to craft them all by myself (even if it took a long time).
As it stands, though...
you can't say Player A is a specialist crafter who is going to screw over everyone else. at best player A has 3 specialist crafts and he will need other people for the other 5 specialist recipes. at minimum you need 3 players who are co-dependent on each other, so no one person is screwing everyone.
and anyone can be a specialist crafter.
No, but said specialist crafter is going to make millions on the items they can craft, which makes it easy for them to turn around and purchase the items for the crafts they don't specialize in. For anyone who is not a specialist in any craft, good luck on ever completing your relic.
I can only have 3 specialists like everyone else. So... I have to pay too? Because Ic raft though, it will even out. Its not "screw everyone else" its, you dont want to craft so why should you reap the rewards from a max level crafter?
but I can only have 3 specialists also, these items require items from ALL crafts. so everyone has to pay, not just non crafters. Dont be mad that you chose not to craft.
The ENTIRE last step is overly excessive. No clue what was going through SE's head... this is pretty ridiculous.
The amount of items you need per is excessive, but as it stands, I like that it needs ALL specialists. It makes more sense that way and also evens out the playing field accross the specialist board.
And who's fault is that exactly? Oh, thats right. Yours.Dont be mad when you choose to not craft when things like this require crafting. You have had plenty of time to level at least ONE craft to 60.
Haha, reads funny...
So everyone is angry about the alternative to the raid weapon? You all know, you would have to go through a heavy grindfest to get a relic.
And now the crafters get finally something what is worth of crafting and everyone is complaining about.
I don't need a relic for myself, cause i don't do endgame raiding and people who don't raid at all don't need a maxed out weapon/gear.
This last step is... going to be rather interesting to see how long it takes before I start questioning my choice in doing so.
If I understand that stuff right, there are 3 options:
1st, you are a raider. You will need a good weapon, but you also can get a weapon from a raid.
2nd, you want the Anima and have no problem with grinding for it.
3rd, you are a casual. You don't want to waste your time on the Anima weapon. Well, you don't have to, right? If you are a casual, a ilvl180 or ilvl190 weapon should be enough, if you ask me.
I'm not a hardcore raider, but I do raids with friends sometimes. Even that is possible with my ilvl 180.
Nobody forces you to get Anima.
Crafters have not had anything that effected battle classes at all in Heavensward since they took away being able to make accessories or meldable combat gear. This is actually a great way to reward the utter crapshow that is crafting and give crafters a reason for existing again. I know all the people who like to pretend crafting doesn't exist aren't happy, but for anyone who has suffered the red scrip grind and the blue scrip grind and the timed hour long windows for gathering mats, this is the first time we've had something to craft that wasn't just for other crafters or glamour.
Don't kid yourself, these items are going to be undercut like all hell because every specialized crafter is going to jump on the chance to make some gil. It's the gatherer's that are going to make serious dosh on this.
Basically, making crafting and gathering relevant again was the only thing about the last step of relic quest that SE did right.
Yeah, no. That crafting thing is a dealbreaker for me. Not gonna bother 'til they're like 20k each.
I'd rather do another 800 runs of Alexander.
The overall problem in the design as there is a HUGE difference between a fun somewhat grindy quest working towards an awesome goal, and an insane months upon months of grinding the same damn thing over and over and over again, only to see only the slightest margin of progress each day.
I'm one of the top geared, and wealthiest crafters on our server... and even I think this is completely idiotic. Both the crafting portion AND the absurd grind. I was expecting it to be grindy but this is just dumbtarded. SE has lost their marbles. And for everyone saying "remember the first weapons" You're being stupid... nearly EVERYONE complained the first weapons were too grindy as well.
They'll be 20k by the end of the week. People are freaking out because they're looking at prices in the first 6 hours. Not a smart move. Does no one remember allagan catalysts? They sold for 4 mil the first couple hours and dropped to like 800 gil in 2 days.
The devs finally threw a bone to the craters they've been shafting since 3.0.
How many dungeons need to be run to get to this last step? Im currently at keeper of the lake which will be the 4th dungeon.
Crafting part is the least of my worries at this point. The grind is real. But if you want the prize you gotta play. See yall in a month. lol
My biggest concern is the ratio between "Challenge" and "Reward". Normally they should be in a decent balance where a high investment is matched with high reward. However, this has a massive investment for almost no discernible reward. This will alienate a lot of people and make it feel like the devs are being very disrespectful of the player's time.
If we aren't vocal about this we will get more content like it, the people who are annoyed will abandon the game, the revenue will stop, and the game will be dead. You cannot retain interest by mindless grinding if the reward does not match the investment.
So, am I understanding this correctly? Once you finish step 2 (dungeons), you get an i200 Awoken weapon. So, then you have to finish the ludicrous step 3 before you can start the first two steps for a different Awoken weapon?
my god. I really hope this thing WAY outpowers everything else we have. Because for all this work, it better not become obsolete anytime soon. I love me some glamour, but... unless this thing smites my enemies with rainbows and unicorns flying out of it, I might have to just pass.
I do like the crafting bone, although I wasn't surprised by the specializations since they started introducing more of it in 3.1, because they have a war on omnicrafters, and their philosophy is everyone should depend on others to get things accomplished. I get it though. If you have three specialist crafts it shouldn't be too much of an investment considering you should be able to make some bank from what you can craft to subsidize the others you can't.
Allagan Catalysts were pretty easy to get though because of the raid and weekly drops, the supplies were high in a short amount of time. Considering the high amount of crafters, I would expect the market to stabilize over time, but it will still cost a pretty gil depending on your server.
Overall 2.0 relics were worse, cause that first run atma drop rate was just sad panda. This is about a month or so effort, and that is throwing yourself at it daily. Or you could be better off banging your head on the Savage A4S Manipulator.
So the relic is optional. The investigator story is short.
What else is there to do this patch?
Sigh, when you think SE learned from their mistakes (i expected at least some hydra or chimera fights) it turns out they are pure sadists!
Instead of making players happy they just let them suffer...
Exodus will continue and currently i wonder if it will become F2P with 4.0...
well, lets see how it turns out but hope is already dead
This will get nerfed. Just don't bother doing anything. Yoshi P will punish the elitism mindstate in favour of the lazy who feel they deserve what you have for paying a sub. If this weapon would never get nerfed and grow with you even with new chapters it would so be worth it but in FFXIV thats just wishful thinking because this doesnt work for casuals they are just too derp and want stuff handed out as usual because its "outdated".
I don't really care if it's nerfed either way I will have mine. What other people have to do is no concern of mine what so ever. Mine is currently bis and that's what I will be getting. The grind is of no issue to me.
Dante_V: Its also about making thing rewarding and putting some sort of competition between players. You don't do that by giving stuff away all the time.
I could finish 4-5 brand new games while ppl are at "playing" for 1 weapon lol... O-O
I'm glad it's this intense. But I enjoy long term grinds for a weapon far more than farming for a drop or buying one with tomes.
Serious bs i tell you, what the hell is up with the HQ crafted nonsense....
Have they not learned anything from all the complaints from previous Relic?
Also how accurate is this info? The having to do Alex so many times, etc.. does not seem right? Many players have stopped going there.
You do realize many that raid have also done Relic right?
I have to contemplate my thoughts about this one..I don't have time for 800 alex runs ...........
