They are usually the ones who mess up most and blame everyone else while spitting out a mouthful of prime roast dirt they just ate again XD

I just don't like rude players, period. I usually learn content quickly. As long as someone is trying, I don't care if they mess up. I've stayed in instances where I know the fight inside and out, but there are many new players, and it's going extremely badly to the point there's no way it's getting cleared, but I'm not going to be rude and yell at anyone and just leave.
I have few elitist LS friend, I don't like the way they express to other players that make it look like totally worthless and only them are the best. What I do is I never do any content with them or invite them to any content (even Hunt) and refuse their help with polite. I'm not hating them it's just they are not suitable for me because I'm a casual.
But for my personal view, HW content is not that hard but got the challenge feeling, Haven't yet go to Ravana ex, Bis ex & Savage Alex, so no comment about that.
I believe everyone want to clear it swiftly, just use a proper language and don't rage out like a mad man.
And I never see anyone want to be carry also, they have their own pride to clear content with their effort, it's just some player who being paranoid about that.
I've been called an elitist call cause I call people out on being lazy or don't seem to know their class. Example
In the vault, I noticed a BM not using his lay lines at all through a big part of the dungeon or FLARE for aoe, I asked if he could use them alittle more and he went off on me calling me an elitist. WOW, another example of a BM not knowing their class or being lazy. He was just spaming BLIZZARD 1! or blizzard 3, in...the aery. <Tears hair out>
Making the run 3 times longer then it needs to be. When I called him out while hes just spaming blizzard 1, the healer and dps was like "Just let him do it" wow, just let him be a waste of space for a dps, hitting for about 300 per hit while i'm hitting up to 600+ in tanking stance. Oh, and it gets more funny with that one, when I got tired of his laziness, they said stop being an elitist and vote kicked me out. NOT, kidding.
Another example(last one mind you) A ninja was in my expert run not doing anything but Spinning edge/Gust slash/Aeolian slash and maybe putting up mut dot. He was not using his mudas nor was he even USING the attack speed buff huton and when I called him out to DO damage, he said "I'm playing on a controller, I don't have buttons for the other moves, what i'm doing is fine, this is just an expert"
Yes, that was his excuse, an excuse that which got him vote kicked out.
There are going to be lazy people or bads that do NOT try to learn their class at 50+ and expect to always be carried. Its an insult to the people that do and waste time of other party members for their badness or laziness. If being called a elitist by calling that person out for their laziness or badness, so be it.
Instead of saying that here why didn't you straight up til them yourself.
I would.
Reminds me of a player from ffxi on bahamut server. One of those guys you put up with because no one else puts up with them.
In Dynamis sandy I got tired of his bullshit. Epic verbal beating for me and the Shell fell apart because all felt the same way. It takes just one person with balls and mine are big.
See, I can forgive not using ley lines outside boss fights or heavy hitting trash pulls (which I guess is all of them in the Vault if I think about it) but when you reach the point of "BLM not using anything but blizzard" it turns into another beast to me. The former could be lack of experience or just zoning out if it's a new mage but the latter just strikes me as trolling. Any BLM worth his salt knows you don't spam frost spells into perpetuity... I'm not even sure you can beat the BLM quests post 50 doing that.
I flame every one :( it happened overnight or when i got a parser I also get mad when people dont pick up mechanics as fast or at new ppl when im in roulette it is annoying when you ar grinding either tombs or leveling another class and some one explains the fight and yet some one manages to die 3-5 times on something thats been clearly explained and or has videos out on it just saying.
Example Bis ex
"Don't stand close to each other or near orbs when lightning strikes the screen. They die standing close to someone." Fine, ok. now they know
"Next pull, lighting phase happen, they die due to standing near an orb." Strike one.
"Next pull, they die to standing near 3 people on lightning phase" Strike 2
"Next pull, they die standing in the spinning circles" Strike 3
Sorry guys, I'm done. People shouldn't be dying from stuff you avoid on the ground yet alone standing next to each other on lightning phase when lightning strikes the screen.

I became an elitist the day I realized I do perform better than most others while having equal or worse gear. It was arround the day I read the tooltips.
We just do not agree about the term elitist. Your definition is like newb. As it occured it was nothing more than the description of a new Player (new by). Folks perverted it to noob just like they did with elite because they were not part of that minority.
edit.: The word you are looking for is jerk.
this is probably the most silly answer I have seen and read. If you decided to unlock a book 3 is your decision because you wanted it, wished it and desired it. I dont think that building a stuff that you do not have to put forth any effort other then beat on a hammer or needle or whatever, and asking INSANE amount of gils for that is just being greedy is all and people that pay for that are as silly, but then they have no choice other then pay if they want their stuff, it sounds like is a sort of blackmail is like to say *I can, you cant, if you want it you pay or go to hell* this kind of mentality is just unbelievable, especially if it is asked for something very specific.
It doesnt mean that because you can you should

You know, this makes me question what kind of society you grew up in that you can point the finger at someone rendering you a service and blame them for your own incompetence 'because it's your decision to service me!'. PLENTY of people decide to advance, to push beyond the norm. That's what college and university is for. That's what academies for all different professions are there for. Do you think attending these institutes is just a walk in the park? No. You need to put the effort into learning. You need to pay. You need to sacrifice time to get that far.
And what is the end result they all strive for? TO MAKE MORE MONEY. To be above the norm, so they can be fulfilled when they are willing to put their services to use. Let us not forget that it's YOU as a consumer who WANTS their services and products. YOU want the high-end goods and services, YOU want luxuy, YOU want to be that special snowflake, but YOU aren't willing to put in that effort they did.
Why do you think a fast food burger is cheaper than a plate of wagyu beef with sides? Why do you think renting a room in an alley-way motel is cheaper than staying in the Four Seasons? Why do you think government lawyer attorneys seem to be worse than private lawyer corporations attorneys? Why do you think private schools charge so much for a number and a piece of paper at the end of a student's time?
Yes, crafting and gathering in-game is vastly different from an actual profession in the real world. But it's not just "beat on a hammer or needle or whatever", which is what YOU see. Would YOU question the chef of the high-ranked restaurant, "Oh, all you did was smack on a piece of beef on the grill and put it on the plate!"? Would YOU go up to a hotel manager and berate them stating, "All you do is change bedsheets and charge exuberant prices on a Mars bar!"? Would you complain to a teacher that, "You just sit there and mark papers!"?
Because that's all YOU see as a consumer. YOU don't see the chef slave for years training at numerous cooking academies, suffering scathing remarks and burnt fingers. YOU don't see the hotel manager working up from being just a loader, and studying his Retail degree in order to work at such a position. YOU don't see the lawyer and teacher going to post-graduate studies to obtain even higher qualifications, paying for their time at the universities.
Just as YOU don't see the crafter behind the screen of their computer spending their time on levelling and gearing their crafting jobs to 60. Just as YOU don't see the crafter desperately fight on the markets for expensive materials or spend time and effort in farming which requires more effort spent on a battle or gathering class. Just as YOU don't see them exasperated at having missed that one hour in-game slot to get an item, or botch their 6th synthesis in a row due to RNG.
No, all YOU see is them "beat on a hammer or needle or whatever" and an item comes out. And guess what? Even after all the explanation I've done, I doubt that YOU, as a consumer, even care. All YOU care about is getting what you want, at the lowest possible burden, resources and effort that you can expend. And I do not blame you for that, for it is the nature of a consumer. It's in the way you respect such a service or profession that separates you from a bad consumer and a good one.
Regardless to say, your behaviour is very childish and close-minded. Just as you said that just because they can put things at a higher price they feel reflects their effort and their expectations of being rewarded for such effort, you don't need to, on the CONSUMER side i.e. YOU, just because you want it doesn't mean you need it.
You call her answer silly. I call your reply sillier, even pathetic.
This is going into grounds that can't be napkin-mathed out, or be entirely quantified. I'll almost say this is a mix of a "Tragedy of the commons" and the "Everyone wants better, No One wants change" attitude that is prevalent amongst the common crowd nowadays. Someone more experienced in such areas of psychology would no doubt be better than me at explaining.
Just to clarify; I am not a crafter, nor am I a gatherer. On my main character, I barely broke 3 mil gil atm. However, I can see the effort that numerous of my FC mates are putting into their crafting and gathering classes, and I respect them for their dedication. That you can insult their dedication and effort and dismiss it as something common makes me mounmentally outraged, and apathetic to your opinion.
Elitist = gear > friends (even long term ones)
And when "booting people from duties – even df – becomes acceptable when they don't live up to their standards of play.
Sometimes I feel like I'm in the minority, but I rather enjoy wiping on previously downed content if the group I'm with is making discernible progress. So many of the fights in this game are flat-out fun. And even if I can't fully experience that initial rush of a first time clear ever again, I can somewhat approximate it vicariously thru others accomplishing the same.
I've met others like this, but they really seem to be few and far between. My suggestion is to join more clear parties and see if you don't achieve this sort of satisfaction.
That person was replying to a crafter who replied to this:
by calculating the price of mats into an item anyways and then stating that they should expect to be charged as such regardless of having already paid for/gathered up the mats themselves. And to that, yes, it's a silly demand. I don't mind tipping generously because I do respect the amount of work people put into leveling and gearing up their crafters, but I'm not about to be double-charged for something.
hahah my thoughts exactly its not that I dont mind, some new people pick things up and it goes smooth maybe a little hickup or two but when its constantly over and over again to something you have seen and been explained !! and when its like one person and the whole group agrees and that one person is all like you guys are elitist jerks*facepalm*did you ever think its not us its you
Most "high-end" crafters unlock master books at great expence to themselves, in order to hopefully make back more gil in the long run. Surely anyone can understand this logic.
We do not do it so that we can then go around crafting everything for free, for random players who are too mean to even pay a 5% tip on the mats cost (as per my example, that you call "greedy" and "insane").
If everyone did as you suggest there would be no "high-end" crafters, as none of us could ever afford to level/unlock them.
You appear to be one of those players that expect everyone else to do everything you wish, without ever doing anything in return, yet your calling me Greedy xD
I find your mentality to be unbelieveable too ^^
P.S. I have only ever had 1 person say my crafting fee's were unreasonable, I offered to sell him the finished item at a very reduced rate or if he provided the mats I would make it free. It turns out that offering to craft with someones mats *for free* is unreasonable, as I should make it with my own mats and give the item away free. Maybe you would have taken his side Mei? xD Needless to say, this person is now on my blist...
Same...
I can be pretty lengthily patient and chill with random people, new players and mistakes - shit happens, maybe they're lagging, maybe they got confused, maybe it was something off-screen on their end (people talking, etc), maybe they didn't know/no one told them a mechanic/skill, maybe they have an impediment (device, physical, mental, etc) - but when it's obvious they're either in "do not give a damn burn everything even if we die" mode, "I has a lazy", "the WHM will fix it so I don't need to dodge AoEs", being whiney/bossy/rude or just not caring to get it.... I'm probably growling at my monitor or venting quick one liners in FC chat... better believe I'm saying, "Are you people serious!? For pities sake!", at my monitor when people are still attacking during 5 headed's Heatwave and I've forced to maim myself to keep their sorry asses alive. *FLIPS TABLE*
If having no patience for people who should know better by now makes me an elitest, then I guess I am one. >_>
If I should ever become one of the elitist minority I should hope I get drummed out of my company and linkshells and treated like the pariah I would be. This community doesn't need nor deserve such condescension within it's population, much less have it be accepted by better players.
I usually team up with friends or family members when it comes to do dungeons I have never done because of Elitists though since 3.0 I did the DF and I was lucky to encounter nice people and tanks that took their time for me. Example in Neverreap the tank went slow instead of speed running because I have bad gear and took the time to explain everything. I wish I could be able to thank him again and play with this person but sadly not the same server.. Oh well..
The argument you give as a reason to allow HIGH prices of market is totally silly and I will repeat that to the end, what you choosed to do is no one business and is not acceptable as a reason for inflating the prices and* kill* those that want or just need something because they cant build it themselves.
For your information, I do everything myself..eh? Including undercutting by alot those that I consider thieves.
This is a game, not a life job that you need money in order to live.
Mei
So if Thavarian Silk cost 5mil each and you need 3 to make a robe, you'll sell the finished robe on the MB for 1mil, because anything more is too high?
Or someone who has just bought the mats for 15mil off the MB, you'll craft it for them (after spending millions gearing crafters) for a like 5k?
Yeah sure...
I guess it's easy to talk like this when you don't even have 1 craft at lvl50 >.<
Elitest's are players that continually strive to be better than they currently are; sometimes other player's perceive this as being an ass but it's not the intent.
You can be an ass and not be an elitest. You can be an elitest and not be an ass.
