i95 weapons drop from Leviathan HM, you can't be serious?

Game's way of letting people quickly catch up. Since i95 will be the new standard for new content.

Making people farm Turn 5 until their weapon drops would be pretty dumb. Rng is terrible.

* Leviathan HM will almost certainly NOT drop the ilvl95 weapon
* You have to have Relic Zenith to start the Zodiac quest-line
* You will be able to upgrade your Zodiac weapons when they add progression to it, and the first implementation will be in 2.25
* DON'T speculate on things you know nothing about! At least not on things that seem unlikely...

They said the Levi HM fight will be easy and only for story, so why would it drop ilvl95 ? Makes no sense. Also Yoshi-P have said that you can use the weapon that's dropped by Levi EX for something else, which points to the ilvl100 weapon.

This is why I added "At least not on things that seem unlikely...". I'm speculating too, but at least I base it on something and with common sense.... also I didn't say it has to be that way, but it's most likely.

Who's to say Leviathan HM will even drop a weapon? HM primals are the new standard for story quests so they may not even drop weapons from here on out. The only reason Moogle HM dropped weapons was because it was a 1.0 fight and people were running around with Moogle weapons when ARR launched, so they had to make them obtainable.

Maybe, you'll need to obtain Mirror of the Whorl from Leviathan HM (which probably either has a low drop rate or you have to fight other people for it) to upgrade the EX weapons from Wave to Tidal Wave.

To go for Leviathan HM/Story you need to have passed King Moogle fight... King Moogle dropped weapons...

I read the patch notes, and not sure how the conclusion of beating the Leviathan HM will get you an i95 weapon.

Any direction on that would be great. Otherwise, if you follow what has currently been happening, you would only get an i80 weapon. Additionally, you STILL have to get your relic weapon and quests done in order to move on with the better weapons quest lines (per the patch notes).

EDIT: Which I will find funny when I look into PF and see "Titan HM - ilevel i100. Must know the fight so I can get a relic, i90 weapon"

I think relic will always be useful, its a stable choice that will get upgrade each patch or expansion.

They also mentioned it can be customized, so i assume the relic will be better than ilv115.

Relic is like your highshcool crush that will eventually be your wife, and Coil drops just the hot chick next door.

The OP is saying hard mode, not extreme mode.

If the OP meant extreme mode, then yes, OP needs to read the patch notes. If the OP meant hard mode, then still trying to figure out where that conclusion was gotten from.

Oh, the sweet irony of your post. Who said anything about Leviathan Extreme?

... and anyone saying the i95 part is not a weapon, well it's listed as a WEAPON! A separate one from Leviathan Extreme weapons. If it was an upgrade item, they would list it under new items instead - unless it's an empty weapon with hardly any stats on it, but I doubt that.

I don't see the problem. Pre-2.2 you could get i90 weapons by either getting the zenith weapon or beating all three em primals. Post-2.2, why would SE add a third way to get i90 weapons? that just makes no sense. especially when they're making it easier for people to get i90. soon i90 will be the old-i70. and every party in the pf will require a min i100. why in the world would you want new content that drops i85 gear when anything under i90 is going to be pointless? on top of that, titan hm drops i80 weapons. why would 2.2 new content drop only i85 weapons? where would be the incentive to even care about this primal if all you got was i85 weapons?

Just because this two items seem to drop from liviathan, don't just assume one is from HM and the other is from EX. far as I remember no story mode trials has ever drop any loot.

Thavnair....off the coast of Limsa Lominsa, right? So covered in moss, eh? Maybe these weapon parts are the reward and can be combined with the X-modes to create the Tidal weapons?

Turn 5 gear has had 7 months at the top... it had to get upgraded somewhere.

I know the stats for Twintania are still best in slot for some classes (Warrior) because of the accuracy. Accuracy is not important for primals because there is no chance you'll ever miss. However, it is a big issue in Coil.

If Normal Leviathan or even Extreme Leviathan doesn't offer accuracy, I'm going to rely on Twintania/Primal weapons until I am accuracy capped for Turns 6-9.

So again, the itemization on Leviathan is not a big deal. Though I will use Leviathan weapons for any content that is not coil.

And if it does drop an i95 BFD. Titan HM gives you your relic which can be very easily upgraded to i90 with no myth cap, and Leviathan comes after Titan. If you are mad that your previous stuff being inferior then this entire patch is going to be rough on you. Weapons aren't the only thing that dropped from T5. "OMG SE it took me forever to farm my Bard ring from T5, now you can get better stuff from grinding dungeons. Wahhh."

Moogle HM (which is story) dropped i75 weapons. Also Ifrit, Garuda and Titan HM all drop weapons.

I think Ehayte has it. HM will drop the Mossy Stone weapon part (which is useless by itself), while EX will drop the i95 weapon. Combine both for i100.

Problem is all other story mode primals wasn't hardmodes. Also Good King Moogle was a story primal.

Bard ring from T5 is trash. Allagan weapons from T5 were not.

I'm with Schala here. Since it's been stated that Leviathan HM will be around Garuda HM's difficulty, I find it hard to believe that it will drop ilvl items the same level as Twintania, even if those weapons are not BiS anymore, it's a huge gap in difficulty. I'm leaning more toward the above approach. Or something along the lines of both weapons dropping from the EX, just that the ilvl95 has a much higher percentage of appearing than the ilvl100.

Actually, in terms of secondary stats, most of the Allagan weapons were trash to me, and if not for the Determination, I'd never have been tempted by them. The only one that actually completely tempted me as a "MUST GET!" is the SCH one, but that's because the Crit Rate, which helps increase the odds of Galvanize being more powerful and of Eos/Selene getting a crit and giving us a spell speed increase. But for the rest, the secondary other than the Determination were rather...useless things.

Yet the Physical/Magic damage stats on them typically trumped any subpar secondary stats.

You can't really judge right now.
For all you know Leviathan HM could be be just as hard, if not harder, than T5. So it might be fair to drop ilvl 95 gear.

Only the BRD T5 bow is for debate since it's basically a relic +2 and we all know many bards were unwilling to upgrade to Zenith...
