So SE should personally cater to an individual who plays 24/7 and give them new content every few days when they deem themselves "done" with current content?

Didn't you know?? We can play THEIR game how WE want, which means it's totally THEIR fault if there isn't enough content when we decide to turn the game into CT: The Game or BC: The Game! >8C
That content other people like? Lol, that's not content, that's <insert something to be broken down into basic control inputs here>!
Please tell me your trolling please. 1st how easy do you want be able to get a "relic". When I saw how ëasy"the relic qst was i honestly was kind of disappointed. A relic isn't supposed to be easy to get. I wish it would of at least taken a month for the relic instead of a week. If you honestly think Titian HM is tough you need to go play wow because for the most part this game is easy mode - average at best. This game hard lmfao
I think what many of us are forgetting is that... The Zenith version of the relic is not the end of the line. I rather hope they take the data from the community and make the future upgrades much more difficult to obtain, and worthwhile. But on topic... If there were no lockouts, and everyone could just power through content (With Coil being the major one here) What would you do if you had all of your jobs geared up in i90, with your Allagan weapon because now it suddenly became easier to get sans the RNG hating you? Let's be realistic here, the vocal minority would not be here anymore... As many are not here anymore now.
Dude just quit the game. MMO's just aren't for you because everything you complain about is just how MMO's are designed. You like gw2 which is a pvp focus game with story content. Most mmo pvers will tell you Gw2 is pure garbage. FF14 is a pve focused game two different genres. FF14 isn't your type of game stop QQ about the way the game is made and just play another genre. Because 99% of MMO's you will not enjoy.
Guild wars 2 has been out for almost 2 years come August. The content they add is really a big hit or miss. It doesn't last long and you're back to playing some other game.
Factions is annoying.
Guild wars 2 doesn't have trinity and that really affects the game for better or worse.
Dungeon were way too complicated the first three months of launch.
I've played since launch and end game was unappealing. Each "update" doesn't last that long. You're really just achievement hunting.
Yes Guild wars 2 has a lot of updates but how much of it is really good or worth playing? Not much.
Have you never played MMO's before? Plenty of mmos have lock outs for end game content.
For the love of god, if you enjoy the game, just play, if you don't, just find another game.
Where are all these excuses coming from. lmfao
No endgame crafted gear worth using, no rare gear whatsoever, highest ilvl gear obtainable through buying from NPCs, etc.
None of these elements in this MMO, make its endgame/gear progression poorly designed.
I never said lockouts alleviate it, I said they're forced to use them as a result of their poorly designed game.
How fun would it be if they removed tokens all together and made drops from bosses only. A chance to drop one piece of gear per dungeon. You can run it as many times as you want, but with RNG coming into play it would take forever to gear up. I can't tell you how many times Tiamat and Fafnir/nid dropped crystals and that's it. More times than than we saw Gaiters or rid/ebodies. The point being you get a reward for just being there and running content. Yes lockout suck but it keeps people from spamming the same instance 25 times in one day to fully gear themselves and complain there is nothing to do. Would you prefer they change it to where the drops are random with the possibility to drop nothing and them removing lock outs? That's the only viable way to keep their customers engaged, either lock them out from loot or change the way drops are handled.
Let me know how you'd fix it, I want to hear every person who hates the lock out explain how they would set the game up drop wise and still be able to retain a player base after two months.
The endgame crafted gear actually serves as a decent jump off point if you are a new 50, also the crafted ilevel 70 weapons are great for alt classes if you aren't downing ex primals or farming Allagan weapons and have horrible luck with the RNG.
Rare gear? Esplain how "rare" gear would make the end game more interesting, as it is with the RNG being the way it is, any piece of gear can be rare.
Highest ilevel gear being obtainable through Badges/Tokens/whatever you wanna call it, it's rather akin to end game gear being craftable, just skipping the middle man of a player, and yes, it is still on a small "lockout".
Lockouts are used to slow progression down, to give people something to look forward to, instead of, oh look, I spent 3 days straight running this stuff, now I have all the gear in the game, I'm bored now. Or being at the mercy of extreme RNG(which we kinda already are...).
Dynamis had a 3 day lockout as did limbus, it wasn't until recently they changed it to 1 day for both events since they aren't top tier content anymore.
All MMOs have some sort of way to slow progression, because they are in the business of making money and if someone can 100% cap out a mmo in a month then they won't sub that long.
so you played FF XIV when it was terrible?

There is no endgame crafter gear, period. ilvl70 is not endgame. Pentamelded is stuff is good, but that doesn't make the item endgame. It was said many times that no crafted armor would rival the best dungeon loot. Hero's gear and Relic armor are among the highest level gear obtainable, they are not the highest alone. Gives a section of players who play less a chance at high level gear, while others who spend more time playing, usually min/maxers will still have to dump loads of time collecting the best in slot items for their characters farming primal accessories and Allagan armor. If you ask me, they are providing content to both types of players, not poorly designed in the least. Now, Coil before Crystal Tower, I agree, backwards as hell. They admitted to the mistake. It supposedly won't happen again.
Lockouts have been discussed enough for me to touch on them again. It's basically the carrot on the stick. It is a business, and it makes sense. Do you think Wineport would be like it is every Monday if it wasn't for it. Coca Cola had it's way of making the drink appealing to you. A Realm Reborn does too. If not you wouldn't be even posting in here.
Not that it really matters but dynamis used to be a 72 hour lockout for years then went to a 24 hour lock out. Yes ffxi had lock outs as well but there was a lot of fillers as well. Not that I'm trying to say ffxiv needs to be ffxi-2 but they should of took what worked and rolled with it. BCNM,KSNM were some very fun content that was only limited by how many seals you wanted to farm which these said seals dropped off monsters in the wild. Royal jelly was always one of my favorite battles. But yes I do agree lockouts wouldn't be such an issue if there were more tidbits of content to do maybe it's just me but I can't help but feel like if there was open world content besides fates and didn't have lockouts there wouldn't be so many complaints.
Yes just give the game more time, nevermind it's actually been around for 3 years and by the end of the last version it had some semblance of gear variety and places to obtain it, all that with only a 15 min lockout per run with an admittedly bad but better than the lockouts we have now RNG for the best drops, variety that mysteriously vanished at launch and only just now is starting to come back with HMs/CT/EX Primals.
Yeah one thing that I think helped ffxi content wise was it was out in japan for awhile before it was released world wide. When Japan got it there wasn't Drg or Sam I believe and level cap was 50 I think. When the rest of the world got it we had rise of the zilart expansion, more jobs, level cap was 75 with chains of promathia expansion around the corner. I tip my hat to any mmo developer trying to release a game in this day and age now because it seems people are expecting a lot of content when the game first launches.
MMOs are made to be time sinks, this is the only mmo (And I've played a lot) where people are like "Omg guys stop playing so much!" The reason people are running out of stuff to do and/are bored is because, let's face it. It's way too easy! I've played games were content only comes out once or twice a year and they never run out of things to do. Because it's hard and it takes time to get whatever. A look out + RNG is simply because the game is to easy. If they actually made the instances hard, all they would need is RNG.
I really lol'd no joke. Where is the game hard at? You mean when you can get to max lvl in 3 days? Yeah that's really hard.
Or maybe when you just instantly spawn in front of the boss, no trash to burn down, no mini bosses. Just que up and "Oh, there's ifrit and his easy pattern to learn"!
Nothing and I mean nothing in this game is CLOSE to being considered hard. Go to Aion where a patch came out in July and not even half the population is good enough to beat a few of the dungeons so they are just NOW nerfing it.
Get real. People are saying this is a WoW clone, it's really a Hello Kitty Online clone.
lol. Brilliant solution, please work for SE! If every player who has a complain just "stop QQ and quit the game"- This game will be empty and die.
news flash, these forums are for feedback, please don't tell me what to do and not do lol. if I have a complaint it doesn't mean I don't enjoy the game or other aspects of it. I'm free to discuss about it or QQ as much as I want, if you don't like it you don't have to read it.
Get real. People are saying this is a WoW clone, it's really a Hello Kitty Online clone.[/QUOTE]
Completely agree, I wish it was more like FFXI, people who say this game is hard, or has a lot of detail. All I can say is L O L. this game is a joke right now, crafting is a great example of even the equipment system. Everyone gets everything is the go to right now. 100% HQ? heck why not. You all want relics and easy to obtain gear? ok here you go. They tried to copy WoW with the system, instead of making it difficult like FFXI, then they listed to the squeaky wheels and made everything too easy and dumbed down, NOW WHAT? people are bored.
D'awes can't dodge fast enough? Dodging, requires zero skill. They had no clue how to make something difficult so they just make you dodge. Not to mention they even give you a warning of where the attacks are going too happen.
Wew much difficult. Hue.
I heard about how difficult 1.0 was which is why I came here, thinking it was going to be just like that. The way they described the grind parties, I was so excited to play this game!
Now this is just Fluff .-. And the devs know it's fluff which is why Yoshi P said he made this game for casuals and new people. Which explains the lock out+RNG that's the only thing that makes gearing up "difficult" lol.
Most of the content we have gotten is just the same content, saying it takes a lot of work is an overstatement for now. We need real new content, that is HARD. Seriously 90% of this game right now is the ability to dodge, which is stupid. At least make us know how to play our jobs.
Hahaha so true. I'd like to know which dev came up with this idea for dodging honestly, I never want to play a game with them on the team. Its literally one of the main mechanics in this game, I don't understand it. It SHOULD be something in harder content, that you cant see, have to know how to do and when to do it, while playing your job. Oh wait... that would make it ... hard?
you haven't killed any of the content that people describe as challenging, yet spout nonsense about stuff being too easy.
http://de.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/5859449/
you seem to be some disenfranchised wow-player that is rocking wp and thinks he is the champ, lol.
people who never clear the most challenging content, yet complain about the game being too easy, are embarassing and should go back to the backseat-mmo the crawled out from.
