BLM, Extreme Primals, and Surecast "buff" request

^ Couldn't have said it better myself. If you notice your dps dropping in any fight, find ways to work around it and maximize your dps, it doesn't mean the class/job needs a buff. Rarely does it mean that in fact. If you really put in effort, you will know the fight's mechanics/rotations by heart and know exactly when it is safe to cast at all times.

200 for a BLM in that fight is an accomplishment imo, very difficult and takes a lot knowledge. Like you said drg and brd are getting around 200-220 respectfully while monk and smn I do not have experience with good ones to know.

I don't have a "rotation" Rotations imply that dps is static. BLMs, and I am sure most DPS classes in this game, are dynamic. Think on your feet. Know when and where to be most effective. If any of you have ever played an arms/fury warrior back in the good ole days of WoW, you will understand my discomfort in revealing "tips", "tricks", and comparisons of my play style to other classes. Stop asking for BLM buffs. L2P. inb4 troll.

Still, you're either a troll or a liar. There is no way you parsed 500+ DPS on an extreme titan fight, or any single target fight. The only way you hit peak 500 DPS (and do 48% of party DPS) would be on some dungeon with a lot to AoE, and even then, only on 1-2 pulls.

I'd be willing to bet that is simple 2 pulls in WP as 22.7k isn't anywhere near a full dungeon. I'm sure as soon as you got to the boss right after you peaked at 500 DPS, it fell off drastically by the time it went down.

Actually I can see someone doing 550 dps on titan as blm, you just fire2 and flare every time a bunch of bombs are up. Especially the 3/4 bombs.

I dont remember my exact numbers, but when I did rotational potency modeling before 2.1, I had a max-ish ST rotation of about 110 pot/sec. And with my damage testing, I have a potency value, in a group with HQ Buttons of 2.6... So that is 286 dps...
Well, last time I parsed on a dummy without a group or food, I was at a bit over 270, so it seems about right. This is with an I90 weapon and I84 overall gear level.

So maybe with all I90, and magically having 100% uptime, a BLM can do 300 dps on Titan, at most... So 550 is completely possible if you just throw aoes every time you see a set of bombs.

never asked for a blm buff. I do think surecast is kind of garbage, and I did think it would be *cool* to have float, but not at all necessary. Didn't start the thread. And just thought that since 500 sustained dps seems to be kind of an anomaly, that you wouldn't mind sharing some tips. But if you want to keep your trade secrets for profit or whatever, thats fine man. Seeing how I'm clearing extremes, BC, etc, I feel confident that i've "learned to play". But whatever, to each their pwn.

so yes, by AoEing all of the inconsequential bombs that you should be dodging anyways, you can hit 500 dps. Am I reading this right?

I still think the guy is trolling with some screenshot he got from the first 3 minutes of Wanderer's Palace.

In reality, you would never spend your time flaring bombs during Ex Titan. In reality, you would never have 48% of party DPS in an 8 man encounter. In reality, you would never complete Ex Titan having done only 22k damage. In reality, people just post nonsense to get attention.

Cool story bro. My dps on trash is usually between 1200 - 1600. I got up to 1600dps on Binding coil turn 4 with raging strikes and a lot of luck. I wish I had a screenshot, but alas, I run FFXIV App on my 2nd monitor, and screenshots only snap the FFXIV game, not the other monitor. The first pic I uploaded was taken with my phone. Next week I will try to grab better screenshots.

Seems to me that people are just asking for buffs instead of using all the skills they already have. : /

Surecast may be almost useless in PvE, but it is plenty useful in PvP, is it not?

Until I start seeing groups purposefully avoid BLM (as LOTS of groups were doing with melee pre-2.1), I just don't see the need for a major change to a skill that already has its niche.

Well, you can use either Wall or Ward depending on if the attack you're trying to mitigate is magic or physical right?
Some mechanics you can "dodge" this way, and some you can't. Just like float. :D

Yeah, as a BLM you can cheat on Titan a bit.
ManaWard will let you eat a bomb, it'll knock you down to half health, which is fairly safe.
ManaWall will let you eat 2 landslides within a minute every 2 minutes.

ManaWall is a good dps gain once you get used to the fight, but the uptime is kinda low and only helps against one mechanic. Plus if there are bombs around, you need to move to bait the landslide with the group anyway. Pretty much ManaWall is good after a bomb phase or perhaps right after a jump.

PS. ManaWard and ManaWall do absolutely nothing on Ifrit Extreme.

If you don't understand the difference between consistent dps across a fight, and the big numbers your parser throws up when you've done an AoE, then you don't really understand dps.

You did not achieve 1600dps throughout T4 - you managed to do 1600 damage in a second in Turn 4. DPS is a constant figure, not something you measure in an instant. What you're doing is like claiming BLM can do 4k dps because a crit Flare on the big snake in T5 hits for that much.

Perhaps you'd feel a bit less arrogant if you compared actual dps, like everyone else does.

Can someone tell me where to get this "Parser" dps gauge?

Is it safe/legit to use? I.e. Is it against SE's ToS?

As if it's ok to use, I'd be quite interested to know my own dps for titan.

I like Surecast the way it is. It's really helpfull in Turn 5 when I'm under a fireball to not interupt my damage. I would however, like a similiar ability, to be able to cast the next spell on the move. That would give us options during fights with lots of movement.

Just wanted to say I am running on 2 screens and the Print Screen button actually works 2 ways.

First it will screenshot based on your game screen, and the screenshot file is found on your game's screenshot folder.
The 2nd one is kinda captain obvious. Open up your MS paint and ctrl+v and you should see both of your screen there. Assuming you are running on 1080p monitors (which I do), your screenshot size in MS Paint should be 3840x1080.

One of the big problems with "Surecast" that I see, is the 1 seconds casting animation, makes it stupid, if you want to cast a spell like fire/fire iii, but have to add an extra second for animation time with surecast, it makes the spell 33% weaker
