Surely they won't be so demanding on one of the only guys they'll have keeping them alive. Probably less so, since they seem to be so time focused and can't afford to have to wait in the queue for another one.

While I have not actually come in direct contact with these types of people, I can fully understand and feel the many threads that details their experience. I feel sad and angry about all this. I have told myself that when I hit level 50 and manage to gear myself decently (while trudging through all the hate going on) I will form an FC that aims to provide players an environment where he/she can learn and have fun at the same time. Anyways players deemed to be toxic, will not be allowed in or will be removed if evidence shows him/her to be a toxic player.

It is really sad to see how immature and angry so many people are in this community. I hope at least one person in each server creates a friendly FC to help out the new ones and the nice ones.

Dudebros like Furio are a little short in the Self-Awareness and Empathy departments. Seems they always think they're at the center of the universe.

I've come across some of these cretins who seem to have an IV with energy drink and vodka in it. These people really need to learn how to act in a community, virtual or otherwise.

To be fair, even people who are new to MMO, should have some google skills. It's not like the information is hidden in a corner on the internet.

And when you start getting into endgame, you should do some research. And while I don't think CM and AK is "the" endgame, they should have gotten a wake up call on AK at least that they need to gear up for the next content.

And nothing sucks more then queuing up for HM Primal, only to notice that a lot of them don't have the gear for it. Those people just waste your 30min-2 hours of DF queuing. And I would consider that rude. This is not a single player game where you only have to think of yourself.

These AK gear requirement posts make me chuckle a bit, do people really think that you need Darklight or a Primal weapon to clear it?

the only thing the game tells the user is a requirement for any instance at lvl50 is that you need a level 50 char. I'll be honest with you i like reading up before and knowing what i will encouther etc but not everyone likes that some people like to try and learn by playing.

Even reading and watching videos will never beat actual experience.

Apparently, they do. Since, you know, Amdapor is very very very difficult, probably as hard as Coil of Bahamut. I mean, who cares about the fact that the stuff drop there is weaker than Darklight. Who cares about the fact that Amdapor Keep is pretty much an 'intro' to end game dungeons. It must be completed by a part full of Relic +1 and Allagan gears folks!

not required, but if you have, will be nice because in the end, you ll need to do multi run for cap. And if you have a full pt and farm garuda until cap, is much better than do AK

Yes, but people who have AK gears usually have limited experience with Garuda, and therefore, would be more efficient to farm AK than Garuda due the difficulty. Point is: It's pretty silly to require people to have DL/Relic when Amdapor keep is a bloody joke with Primal weapons and amdapor keep gears.

I mean sure, to each their own, but it's not like a few extra minutes is going to kill anyone there. The other night i've seen a WHM with nothing but Amdapor Keep gears (or less) with Ifrit's staff do a hell a lot better than most White mages out there. I understand that having relic/darklight kind of "proves" (I use the word loosely) that you're a skilled player, but gears don't make a player....

I think I would join CM as a healer, ask friendly if I can see the CS my first time or if I should leave.

IF people would slow down and play with good tactics, they will realize those dungeons do not require anything bih. If others ca run it perfect with base gear, then perhaps the issue is the attitude you approach it with.

I don't understand this anger at people who aren't prepared or capable of a fight the first (few) times. If I had had that from other players early on I never would have made it through copperbell mines even. I am new to MMO's. This means, no matter how much research I do before hand, I will be moderately deadweight the first go round. Actually in my experience it takes me a good three to four successes (not counting failures) before I feel I am starting to pull my weight. I do get that general mechanics are "easy" to those who have played other games, and once I have them down I can usually agree. But being shut out and raged at for not knowing what to do because I have never done something before, is.. well. Ridiculous.

When I first learned to drive I read every thing I could on the subject. I knew I was totally prepared. I watched other people do it. I aced every written test, and knew everything I needed to. And then first time parking I backed into a pole. It was months before most of the knowledge I had so diligently acquired was actually useful to me.

Research is nice. But it is doesn't make you prepared. :)

How bad are we getting as humans were people cannot even show kindness anymore let alone in a game designed to be about cooperative gameplay and banding together. now everything is just "me, me me, what i want, to hell with your needs/wants!"

I am actually getting scared now, even games with online community are becoming social nightmares. people say "just find that good FC/freinds" well, for some of us that is quite difficult when trying to weed through the massive amount of bad eggs.

The trouble is the balance, i don't want that happy go lucky player who loves to have fun but sucks horribly at the game and is wiping on normal ifrit for example. but i also don't want that pro gamer who has mad skills but the moment you display human error you will never hear the end of it. The latter of which is the most common.

To be fair to those players though. You need 5 months of AK runs for full AF2 and Relic +1 for 1 job. That is somewhat around 150 times in AK. Wouldn't you want to cut down the time spent in AK as much as possible? Or at least understand that some people want?

Anyway, I have never been in a DF group that demands that sort of gear. Just seen shouts. Has anyone actually been in a DF group where they raged because someone didn't have relic + DL gear?

I personally haven't gotten to end-game with my new character yet(still working on getting battle classes to 30), but I've been on countless dungeon runs in my playtime. I think I've had about 4 or 5 bad duty finder runs, usually due to PS3 players without keyboards.

WHAMMO- half of FF14's problems solved in one fell swoop.

It seems to me that the vast majority of issues in this game could be solved be people standing up to the little bully children in party chat who are scared cutscenes will cut out a precious 2.5 minutes of their lives. Every time I see someone complain about it, I just want to slap everyone involved.

Every time anyone anyone demanded I skip the cutscenes, I laughed at them. Every run I had someone be told to skip the cutscenes, I told them specifically to watch it.

Stand up for yourselves, people. It's not that hard, ESPECIALLY on the internet with a group of people you'll probably never see again.

It's a sad situation that these cretins are increasing in number as well and funny enough I've yet to "wipe" one of their groups and in many times by the end have been told it was one of the smoothest runs they've had (generally by the healer, they seem less belligerent)

That kinda sucks. Maybe my duty finder server is just nicer, or people playing on my time frame are just nicer all round. :)

I've been in several situations where me watching a cutscene, got me locked out from a boss fight.That is the groups fault not mine.If your going to use Duty Finder for your party and most people running dungeons for the first time DO use Duty Finder, especially the story dungeons, then you as a person need to deal with it.

I've never had to deal with a situation yet where someone told me to skip the cutscenes but if I was told to by anyone,I would respectfully decline and finish watching. For one,the cutscenes in the Inn have nowhere near as immersive value as when you watch them during the first run instance. Imagine running CM without looking at the cutscenes, or skipping your first cutscene of Garuda, the first time you fought her? Hell no.

Not to mention if people want to run ahead and lock me out, as the White Mage of the group, I hope you die for being in such a rush. I will not skip a cutscene I have never seen before for no one. If you don't like it, you can be replaced.

Sheesh! I don't understand why so many players are being rude. :confused: I mean everyone was new at one point or another. FF XIV ARR is my first big mmorpg I've played and so far I'd only had a few bad runs in dungeons. Hell, I even re did some lower dungeons with my hubby and had a few new players and it went just fine. Even let them watch the cs. No sweat off my back. As long as we do a good job and have fun that is all I care for...and some good loot of course.:o

But, not matter where you go you'll have those elite players who seem to think they are better then anyone else. Sad really.

That does not apply to everyone, the example you just gave applies only to people trying to rush down gear quickly. I personally would do other dungeons for tomes and other things in general, to take a break from grinding, if you do to much of it to fast, you become quite irritable. and snappy. if you learn to take breaks from what you are spamming you'd be surprised how calm you are when you actually go for it again at a latter date. there is no one trying to kill you if you don't have said gear asap.

The biggest issue with this problem is that when these mad rushers actually do get said gear, they have nothing left to do, then we get people complaining about lack of content and not enough to do and demanding updates to quickly over the actual plans they had. because they went for everything so fast, they now left them selves with nothing to do.

They made the cut scene skippable because they know these dungeons will be run multiple times, You dont have to watch them every time hence the skip option. All the dungeons where folks get yelled at seem to be ones you will be running on more than once so i will for sure watch the cut scene the first time through and if peeps have a problem with that then they can leave me behind or leave group i dont mind. This option in telling people to watch cut scenes at the inn in not 100% accurate the only cut scene you able to view is the beginning and ending ones not the small short cut scene's after boss fights. I have checked multiple times checking to see if those particular cs and they are not in the inn at all so I can understand if someone first time doing it they want to watch those.

The only times when I really ask for people to skip is when were already short on time and those miniutes could make the diffrence between a successful and failed run (Completed Praetorium with 2 miniutes left on the clock, we would've failed if people didn't skip)

I would love to see some etiquette guidelines created for farming for mats... When farming, I focus on 2-4 spawn locations. I do this to allow other people an opportunity to also collect mats from other spawn locations. However, on several occasions I have had people call me a bot or RMT for simply farming these few mobs because either A) I know exactly where they pop (it's not like their locations move) or B) they get mad that they can't out-claim them.

If you see someone farming a specific spot, go find another location or come back later... It's like in pre-Abyssea FF11... don't camp on top of another camp... It's rude!

To the farmers who just run around willy-nilly and kill everything with AoE when there are other people trying to farm the same thing... Stop it! That's rude, too!

Yes they are, there's a dropdown menu where you can select the other cutscenes. Every single cutscene is in there, no matter how small it is, even the 5 second "oh noes it's the boss and he seems angry" cutscenes are in there.

Your statement is a very good example of how perspectives are very different from person to person. You relate the better days of MMOs with UO. While I think UO had the most toxic community to date. I actually think the birthplace of “player griefers” started with UO! I would rather be yelled at to skip cutscenes than be killed and all my stuff be looted and house taken because I angered someone. I actually think most MMO rules were formed because of the asinine antics that went on in the UO community. With that being said, I really don’t think this is anything new and I don’t think it all stems from recent world of warcraft players. I see this type of behavior from day to day in real life and from MMO to MMO I’ve played over the years. When something bad happens some people only tend to focus on that and use only similar occurrences to validate their claim.

When i queue for Duty Finder, it's to progress in where i'm currently standing in the story.

if a few impatient turds want me to skip the cut scene, telling me to watch it in the inn, making my experience with the game a bad once since i can't experience the story while in the dungeon, how it's meant to be, instead of in an inn, then i will put on my "obnoxious person that sits in the movie theater throwing popcorn at the screen while yelling NO DON'T GO IN THERE IT'S A TRAP!" act.

I pay for this game, just like you. But just cause you are impatient and don't give a rats ass about my game experience, then why should i care about yours?

I let any new person that joins my DF group watch the cut scenes, and i even explain fights while they do, so they can come back to read the information to know how to preform on the incoming fight. No need to be a douche. i get home to play the game to relax and have fun. Not sit there being told off by impatient ****s.

We ran CM last night with 2 new people and told them to enjoy the cut scenes. If you are in that big of a hurry form a party OUTSIDE the duty finder! I think all of these people are ridiculous and our free company will never give in to these elitist attitudes. The funny thing was the 2 new people were asking for our server as they have never had anyone be nice to them on their first runs.......truly pathetic.
