There are a lot of reasons for players to be jealous over salvage and the effort it takes to get there.

But this post isn't even an attempt at good feedback for SE to fix it.

You literally are just like "well i don't like it, so it should be gone".

I could get behind decoupling it from housing, and/or tying it to GC, it could act as a pretty good extension for the GC system if they ever want to expand on the ranks.

That being said, regardless, a solution such as this would still require pretty much looking into the whole reward structure anyway. Something like extravagant 'works' and hasn't undergone any radical changes because it is tied to housing. Same with many of the other rewards locked behind it -- When you look at bringing it to players in such an accessible manner, then the impact becomes a lot more clearer.

This is why I already take an issue with the system of present. How devs expected it to function and how it has actually played out are very differently, IMO. beyond this, another problem I have really is that it does detract from other gameplay elements -- I suppose the way I view it is -- If making Gil is the goal in general -- Why would I bother going for an approach that requires constant sustained effort, e.g., crafting, doing Eureka, doing Bozja, or any other activity when the viable alternative is essentially just passive income through submarines?

I'm at a point with my FC submarines where they can farm Gil, and the only thing I need to do is login daily, send them out, and forget about it until the next day -- and everything else related to Gil because they are already adequate for anything that the game throws at me that would otherwise require or even encourage spending Gil -- So I posit the question again -- Why would I bother interacting with many other gameplay elements, when this is all that is required?

By all means how people have their fun is ultimately their own prerogative, I'm no different when it comes to achievements -- Brrrr... Number go bigger... Brrrr.... -- But this enjoyment does not take away from any issues that people may have with a system -- Be it issues people may have with achievements -- Or be it issues I or others may have with submarines ultimately boiling down to glorified retainers with fairly broken rewards in the long-term.

Yep, that is the big issue. I sit on gil too, I could buy all the mounts I want, but I don't, because I actually wanna play the game for it... Devs creating a game, where people don't need to play PvE. It will get hard to foster participation and find groups that are willing to do it, because there is simply no need for it. Why bother, when there is the easy exit strat?

I think retainer system, as well as marketboard, could use some upgrades too, it essentially barely changed since launch... Why not have automatic ventures pile up items, so you don't have to click through it. Some items from ventures are almost impossible to get once you pass a certain retainer level too, as % chances change with a bigger pool of potential items. Why no bid/ask prices to make a real market like other MMOs? And so on. But that is another topic.

Submarines should never have been a fc only thing.

Either this needs to happen and/or obvious submarine farms need to be banned
i've seen an entire ward bought up by the same dude, it's so blatant its sad.

They could always just make submarines and airships available to everyone, not just FC owners.

It takes 4 months to level submarines for it to become profitable.
It's deserving.
Workshop problem =/= housing problem.
Let the legit FCs keep their gil.

Ha that's funny, yeah it takes 4 months so let them have their afk infinite money glitch, while the rest of us have to WORK to get scrapes.

Salvage should be removed, all future workshop rewards should be mbable Mounts, housing items, Minions, etc.
It is absolutely not deserving, it takes zero effort and minimal player time to set them up, specially now that even the sub discord incentivizes 3rd party tools to automate it all.
There is also minimal investment since selling the fc plot has become the norm on many discords, so they can always exit out of the investment and make a profit.

Would be easy to solve the workshop for FC's, just make the workshop work through the grand company and add an extra door at the Grand Company your FC represent, permit only one of those per server for FC's or something down those lines...

As for those saying it is for breaking even, well that is hardly the issue at all to do such, huge profit margains in SUB marines and they do not cost anything at all to build as if you are a little bit persisten you can quickly gather up the base needs pretty fast and more to it.
