Minimum item level can be compensated by fairly heavy handed Echo bonus from wiping that keeps stacking until they hit close to current capped ilvl or bit more.

It was quite jarring doing casual ARR/HW/SB for a long time and then moving into casual Shadowbringers+ content. Every dungeon trash pack and boss feels like a huge slog in ShB, with double or triple the HP of anything in the earlier expansions. I began to wonder if I was playing wrong, but no, I was doing correct rotations with decent leveling gear.
They're just damage sponges and the earlier expansions don't prepare you for it at all. Quite unpleasant. Would love it if the enemy endurances could be averaged closer together across all expansions.
Took every single hit from the final boss of Lapis Manalis, all the p9-12 bosses and MSQ Golbez as a Paladin in crafted gear.
Not even close to killing me.
There is no risk in normal content, so people can afford to be lazy and not learn to play the game.
Content needs to be harder, even if only fractionally so people actually face small challenges and their braincells activate for the first time in 9+ years and get excited over beating content.
Maybe just an ilvl adjustment would do just as fine!
One thing that I'd like to see, would be some sort of incentive to do old Savages / EXs sync'd, because currently there's none.
This would be very nice. Had the same thought about this since Stormblood. Stop leaving oldee content horrendously undertuned to the point where newer players just breeze through it withput truly experiencing what made that older content great!
I completely agree. I always pitched the idea of having an ilevel sync that's basically the max ilevel possible for when that particular piece of content released, but I wouldn't mind a hard pass on older content if syncs aren't ideal.
Either way, part of the reason players loathe content like LotA, cheese aside, is because of how boring it is due to being able to not see like 70% of all the mechanics. This will bring some spice back to it, especially for players that started after the release of HW.
To to sync to first raid tier of the expansion item lvl....heck sync to first crafted set for the 1st raid tier, jobs are already buff that would still feel easy.
Thordan was ALWAYS a joke. A group that did him at MINE recently for fun didn't have any issues despite seeing almost all of the mechanics.
His phase change is set at 10%, and after the adds phase, he LOSES ALL OF HIS MECHANICS, GAINS THE DAMAGE DOWN STATUS, AND IS ONLY ABLE TO AUTOATTACK.
The game is soloable now minus a couple of trials. It's time we lower the ilvl again and stop the cheese. Implement a "very easy" option for trusts if you have to. Stop forcing the same boring concept onto every individual player. I want to play a game with fail states. As it stands now you need to play through multiple expansion until you get remotely threatened. Even people who are just in it for the story get shafted, see Thordan.
