People don't understand this. I think any effort we put towards communicating what we want from SE is not wasted. We've still yet to see a reason to bring a WHM when we could have The Balance and Chain Stratagem. SE won't design content that requires specifically a WHM for healing. That would be a more horrible imbalance than what we have right now. (I'm trusting you to not prove me wrong on this matter, SE.)

And hopefully Cure I will do the same. If the benefit of having Lilies is as worthless as we've been told, then getting them should be so easy that we have access to it basically 100% of the time.

So, why not Nerf Regen potency and M2, while buffing cure and Cure 2? HoT effects are overly powerful in this game.

If I'm wrong, the worst that has happened is that I've wasted some of my downtime discussing the issues I have with what has been presented to us for a couple of weeks.

If I'm right, I have to suffer for an unknown amount of time with a fundamentally broken class, or switch to a different job, but at least I've done my best bringing my issues to the forefront so they can possibly change sooner rather than later.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what the better option is.

They want to make WHM the pure healer, then it SHOULD be overly powerful. A joke of a single target shield, no debuffs, only mitigation is in role skills. If all we have is healing and personal DPS, then we should be better at it than the others.

Suggested this in the other thread but do we actually need Confession for Plenary? It seems to me the heal would work reasonably well if you just made it consume Lilies instead for it's tiers of potency. At one lily is a weaker Assize, at two lilies it's an improve Assize, and at three lilies it becomes a semi-impressive capstone. Wouldn't this make good use of a resource we are already generating and (with the confirmed 100% Cure 2 proc) allow us to attempt to plan it's use?

We'll have to wait and see what all the changes are. But based on 100% lily proc rate off cure II and supposed 20% chance of confession; every raid pre-pull sequence could start off with 6 cure II.

According the the Job action video you can obtain lilies even while an ally is full HP. So you'll cast 3 cure IIs get 3 lilies then cast Divine Benison, then cast 3 more cure IIs for 3 more lilies for a 25% dps buff on your second use of Assize. Meanwhile you'll have a high chance of getting 1 confession during that prep drill, which if proc can be used within <30 in the place of Tetragrammon (allowing tetragrammon to replace yet another mandatory healing gcd).

This prep drill is comparable to the AST and SCH pre drills

Obvious draw backs to this WHM prep drill is MP!!!!

Scenario 1

• Cast 3 cure II's
• wait for complete MP regen (9-12 sec)
• execute Divine Bension 17 sec pre pull
• start casting 3 more cure II's at 17 sec pre pull
• 9 sec left b4 pull to get 90-100% Full mp regen

Perks:

• Tank has a 15% shield for 13 sec,
• Benison recast @ 31 sec on pull,
• Your second assize will come in 25% faster,
• 48.8% chance you will have a confession stack on tank that proc off the last 3 cure II (in the off chance u got one you'd have between 15-20 sec during the opener to make use of it).

Cons

• 13 sec buff may not be long enough for tank to maximize the 15% shield, especially if OH (AST/SCH) adds their own buffed shields, if the boss doesn't hit hard enough faster enough a port of your shield would have been wasted, yet that a matter of effective potency/max potency.
• 15-20 may NOT be long enough time for the tank to take dmg worth a decent effective potency/max potency out of PI--all in hopes of save a GCD and potentially a CD=Tetragrammon.
• Cumbersome pre-pull ritual for a healing class that's accustom to taking it EZ

Scenario 2

• Cast 3 cure II's
• wait for complete MP regen (9-12 sec)
• execute Divine Bension 8 sec pre pull
• start casting 3 more cure II's at 8 sec pre pull
• Execute Lucid Dreaming

Perks

• Tank has a 22 sec, 15% shield,
• Benison recast @ 40 sec on pull,
• Your second Assize will come in 25% faster,
• 48.8% chance you have a confession stack on tank off the last 3 cures (in the off chance u got one you'd have between 24-29 sec during the opener to make use of it).

Cons

• You'll be 3 cure II's short of max MP on pull
• You'll be fighting to lose MP fast enough such that Assize + Lucid Dreaming doesn't Saturate your MP pool (NOT TO MENTION THIN AIR.......rip...)
• Still a cumbersome pre-pull ritual with now an even tighter execution requirement

You can make other small variations to the two scenarios, such as not using Lucid Dreaming until after Thin Air and Assize and mp is low enough to make certain it will not saturate. Or do all 6 cures II instantaneously pre-pull with a quick divine bension between first 3 cures and last 3 cures which would up your chances of getting a confession to 73.8% with 17-28 sec during opener to utilize PI. And b/c you spam those cures you could pop lucid Dreaming asap upon pull being more confident you'll not saturate your mp pool using lucid + thin + assize in close succession. (do not use Lucid dream before assize....the amount of instant hate you'll generate on your opener will be huge)

All these variations and more just b/c we have a 100% chance of lilies and 20% chance of getting a confession?:cool:

If you lower regen potency, you're just going to reduce the cast frequency on my Stone and Aero. I'm still going to be using regen so that I can use Stone and Aero instead of Cure.

Even with a 400-600 total potency HoT in comparison to a 550 basic heal? Interesting.

No amount of healing potency in the world is going to best this. Fact is, all healers need to heal all content, so they'll never design fights that will NEED a WHM to heal it. All healers need to stay around the same level with healing, so it then comes to what else they bring. WHM brings nothing else. It doesn't matter how much they band-aid fix potencies and proc rates, the lily system doesn't offer anything worth while. It's essentially the Spear casted in yourself.
