Tanked Halitali normal in leveling roulette.
Healer is healing me for 39-49 pure Cure. I'm getting auto attacked for 50+ by one mob, any time I pull more than one thing, despite rotating my three buffs, I'm nearly dying every single time. Healer is asking me to help out and heal myself, I say I can't do anything more than what I'm doing because I'm a PLD and I can't even cast my heal while being attacked.
ACN starts healing me, they're doing 200 per Physick.
We tried everything. We asked the healer to turn on and off Cleric (think it bugged when they entered or something), asked them if their attribute points were in Mind, checked the gear, we were totally stumped.
It took us an agonizing 60 minutes to complete the dungeon. I commended the ACN for their clutch heals, somehow managed to bank me the other 3's commendations.
As soon as I exited the dungeon I realized that the healer was probably healing so low because all their gear was broken. >.>

Doing High roulette with bf, we're both dps. We get Satasha Hard, war and fairly new whm. Still no new bonus so this healer HAS done it before.
Tank pulls all to door, we start killing. Tank dies. No idea why, whm full mp. Okay maybe mistake, they happen.
Tank pulls next set of mobs, he dies again. Me shortly after him. Okay, what is happening now? Healer was trying to heal, but reacting slowly... We manage to kill trash and proceed to first boss and I am terrified.
We pull, boss hits with his debuff on me and about to finish me off with his tornado thing(whatever it's called) BOOM, I'm dead. My bf is next to die, then healer himself and tank lastly. We tell healer he NEEDS to heal us before we die.
2nd try, doesn't go any better same result. Me and bf and maybe tank getting annoyed now.
3rd attempt, we die. Healer asking us how to avoid getting killed by tornado+debuff. Are you cereal? Tank has had it at this point and decided to kick healer which goes through, and we get rep heal.
But guess what, 4th attempt and we still die! At this point we're all so annoyed and frustrated that we vote abandon. -

Our healer in Copperbell NM got very salty right off the bat because the tank wasn't using Flash. Spammed something along the lines of "Can I get a Flash?", and complained that he probably hadn't done the quest for it. This went on until the first lift.
The tank stops in the lift, turns around, and spams flash until he's out of MP. The healer silently joins us in the lift and I don't think anyone said anything about it the rest of the run.
For some reason this cracked me up, even though I was pulling constantly. -

Running Copperbell HM on my WHM, get a DRK new to the dungeon. DRG explains everything, DRK does as he is told... and then thanks me for keeping him alive.

Well yesterday (or early this morning) I managed to do that 60 dungeon. Got two drops, iLvl from 145->149. Still leveling alt classes but will do the other level 60 dungeon so I can also do roulette. I must say the group I completed it on- much worse geared. BUT I prefer a friendly badly geared group to a group of three well geared jerks and dinky ol me in questing "greens" and whites. Plus, everyone was still much better than me. All in all it was fun :).

Ended up tanking Brayflox NM today as a DRG. Our tank was a level 32 GLA with no jobstone, oath, or any gear above level 20. Their tanking rotation consisted of the following: body pull, flash once, spam Rage of Halone. Few days ago i was tanking Library. While during the mobs it was all fine, during the bosses it was like wtf? The healer abandoned a little before the second boss, and even if I hit 60 with PLD, I decided to stay with them and try to finish the dungeon. I wasn't really feeling good but I tried... but after 3 wipes at the last boss, DPS dying because of the orbs that they put everywhere where they shouldn't be; the new healer telling us how to place them, and then them not following their own explanation, and the last round I as tank had 7 stacks, which I have no idea how happened, it seems they put the things all around me. I really couldn't anymore, and I left, and days after I feel guilty for not staying.... but really I just wanted to finish it and go sleep. (and no nobody was new to the dungeon)

I got an experience yesterday....me BLM for a change. We start and I noticed that there were no dots on the mobs/boss, I said to myself ok, lets continue maybe it will improve. At the second boss, finalyl I said to the SCh who was doing othing other then throw now and then some heals, that maybe it would be useful to at least apply dots would help us kill stuff faster, note the apply dots and NOT the *you should DPS*, the answer was she knew her job and to *suck it up*...those are days where you wish you could remove all exp gained during the dungeon from said person and have her feel she lost her time.

Leveling my dragoon, took it into MSQ roulette which meant I got Praetorium. First thing I noticed was the level 50 Gladiator. Then saw that SCH, BLM and SMN were new. Hour long Praetorium run after I gave up trying to talk to said Gladiator. Tried to ask him if he knew about Jobs, how beneficial soul stones were, ask what world etc. During that intro cutscene I looked them up on the lodestone, found out what world (can't go to them and talk 1 on 1 to give pointers or suggestions etc), and saw that they were level 50 GLA, 7 MRD, 9 LNC, 1 CRP, 6 BSM and 26 ARM. I kept trying to talk with Gladiator until I gave up but... nope. I did get speakage from the new SCH and the new BLM but most of what they commented on was about how long the cutscenes were and WHY did it impede the middle of the dungeon.
The four experienced ones of us spent the time talking about the 'good ole days' and the only time inn cutscenes were mentioned was when the SCH commented on the cutscenes being an inconvenience with them in the middle and they need to put it as something you can view afterwards. Told them you could watch them there but it wasn't as epic or how they changed cutscenes to be shorter if they were in the dungeon at all or after the dungeon was finished. BLM mentioned how long it was and wanting to use the toilet lol.
But yeah, level 50 Gladiator. @_@;
I gave them cute ascii macros and they rewarded me with 5 comms. 233 soon for a fat pope chocobo. -

I had an interesting A1N yesterday whilst trying to get accessories for my newly minted Summoner (I went in as WAR for quick queues and the fact that I have decent gear).
First jump happens and there's an add attacking a healer. Quick Landing happens and we're down two dps. Two jumps in myself and the Ninja on original Oppressor realise that 1.0 is hugely behind on dps (1.0 on about 23%, 0.5 on approximately 45%). Ninja goes over to help on 1.0 after the third jump and I solo 1.0 plus adds. I get lucky with missiles coming down in a good position and manage to have fun with a Beserk decimate spam on two adds and Oppressor whilst positioning them without cleaving any of the dps running around without any idea what to do.
We eventually (after two further jumps) LB both bosses and get the kill, but my word that was a painful run. Two accessories drop and I lose out on both with 90+ rolls, but that's life. -

Apparently the Tank kept trying to overpull, and the healer barely had the iLvl required to unlock the dungeon (Saint Mocianne's Arboretum). There was muchly death, and the tank refused to pull smaller groups so that the healer could keep up.
So I guess, here's a PSA to folks: Some of us may be i210, some may be much lower. Please be mindful of this and adjust your playstyle to meet the ability of your party. D: Overpulling just because you can, doesn't mean the dungeon will move faster -_o -

11-24-2015, 11:22 AMImmutThis is a game where you take several dozen times your max HP in every encounter. Your max HP simply doesn't matter, it's all about the RATE at which you take damage. This is why nocturnal aspect and vitality accessories are considered utter garbage, because a shield will simply increase your max HP. In order to DPS in a dungeon you need some kind of regen to slow down the HP loss to a managable level. A scholar's fairy casting embrace counts as a regen for this purpose. A regen effectively counts as 50-90% mitigation if it doesn't stop damage entirely. That's how you dps as a healer. You (and the tank, together) set yourself up to where the tank won't take enough damage to kill them in the next 5-15 seconds. You don't just watch their HP plummet and try to catch it back up. They will lose HP but it will be at a (relatively) slow, controlled rate. Particularly with AST. ASTs will let you get VERY low before switching out of cleric to cast ED, because ED is actually stronger the lower you are and beats out Tetragrammatron anywhere under 50% hp.Quote:

The monk is the only one who is actually trying her best and following the mark. Get to the final boss and AST has to go AFK for a sec so I use this time to check levels. The AST had quite a few classes at or above 50, the Arcanist was in the same boat, the monk being the only new one with just the needed classes leveled.
Call me rude or not but at the end of the run (to avoid being kicked lol) I told em it was sad that the new monk out did both of them and commended her. -
11-24-2015, 12:31 PMImmutIn low level dungeons like that, having carbuncle tank an enemy lowers the amount of damage the tank has to deal with, allowing the healer to dps more. Typically when the tank is taking two mobs and either the healer (lol) or carby is tanking another, and the healer is dpsing, nobody needs healed until everything is dead. I'm not a summoner so I'm unsure if this scales up to Titan in experts, and I'm super not sure how it compares in actual dps to emerald/garuda. They aren't supposed to let the damn thing die though lol. What level is sustain again, 8?Quote:

I ran expert roulette with FC mates (PLD and BLM, myself as AST) yesterday, we ended up in Saint Mocianne's Arboretum with a new so-called bard - with accent on "so-called" as she didn't sing. Urgh, my inner bard cried.
After the first boss the PLD wanted to do some big pulls and thus asked the bard if she could sing Foe's Requiem for the BLM. She sings Army's Paeon. We told her what Requiem does, then she sang this, our BLM was happy.
During the second big pull, she didn't sing anymore, and DPS was pretty low - althought I helped out with DPS - so combat took forever and my MP dropped so I asked for Mage's Ballad. She sang Foe's Requiem. I told her what Ballad does, then she sang it.
After the second boss and up to the final boss, this bard always used the right songs at the right time - Ballad for me if my MP dropped below 1.500 after Gravity spam (^^') and otherwise Requiem for our BLM.
This woman entered the dungeon as an archer and (with our advice) left it as a bard :') ...her DPS was substandard though...
