If they do anything it will be weaken self healing and sustain. But that is pointless if oGCDS are not in turn weakned as well. OGCD are too powerful and add to the problem.

In fact, I've begun my own healerstrike since patch 6.1.
The only time I put my healer gloves back since then was to play Alexander savage (yes) with my static, because in this raid, I actually have to heal lol.
oh bless your little cotton socks, honey i'm from the south this is exactly how i talk in real life. and i only get sweeter the more rude and nasty people are to me. ^-^ my gramma always said to kill 'em with kindness.
now don't you have somethin' better to do than get all riled up over my linguistic syntax?
You can read a JP players thoughts just in the very same thread, though I know it's draining to read every post in here.
Tonaka-san did a great job, honestly. It was a very interesting read!
And ofcourse there is a JP thread in the JP section, which would require an auto translator to follow their discussion.
I like how he acknowledges that people sign up as healers to heal, but says people shouldn't expect to heal outside of high end content, and also says FF14 wasn't designed to have a lot of heals.
And also seems to imply that healers are designed to be boring in casual content
Repeating the same, dumb, trite, repetitive, pedestrian arguments. If this guy has said anything fresh or made any good counterpoint or supportive argument let me know.
Like "dungeons are casual content"... ok, please stand in line, 54235908092385 other people have said it before you.
Did these people ever play in HW when it was far, far harder to play healerless in dungeons?
I didn't see this but thanks for basically telling me nothing was noteworthy in that video.
And this idea that "healers that complain about this don't do that content that's actually hard" needs to die because 80% of the players in this game primarily play normal mode content. The game should be fun in normal mode content.
I love how the goalpost back in ShB/early EW was that people complaining about healers are toxic elitists who want the game to become too hard.
And then you now have people saying these healer mains that are dissatisfied are actually noob casuals who don't do any hard content.
Nice goalpost shifting.
And even then, as someone who had multiple tiers of 99 percentiles on healer and finished rank 4 at the highest, healing gameplay has unquestionably declined in high end content as well, because the glut of free oGCDs have removed player skill expression when it comes to healing efficiency optimization. You barely need to fuse together a few neurons now to reach 0 GCD healing on most Savage fights. You barely need to think about movement or slidecasting. And the atrociously asinine design philosophy of using body checks to inflate the difficulty of Ultimates and Savages has meant that triage as a valuable progression skill is worth half a penny, if even that. If making a mistake means everyone dies, do you even need the healer to try to fix anything? All this means that at the high end, healer gameplay has declined greatly as well.
Finally, this streamer/Youtuber hasn't even healed at all during HW/SB, and not even during Shadowbringers. Literally WTF would he know about what good healer gameplay looks like.
I support the strike. Healers abilitys should be built into a damage rotation, with big party wide healing to make them thier own jobs.
