Hear what your saying but I have been playing for over 13 years in most of all the main mmo's and the ones that have the anti-collision I have not come across any issues apart from 1 instance in Rift,when they enabled mounts inside main buildings.
I can see the point about open door ways and I would imagine that could be sorted by making door's into mini instances that zone you in,but I would guess they need to sort the server issues out first lol. But they really need to at least add something around bells and popular NPC's to stop players standing on them,which in turn can as you say cause grief to other players for kicks and yes I have had that experience in Rift.
As for the crafting if they gave us our own supplier and enabled crafting in our inn rooms I would be the more than happy (wishful thinking) but maybe if/when they bring in FE (guild) halls we will be able to craft in there and able to buy supplies etc. as I really hate having someones character rear end stuck in my face via a monitor......while they stand there on top of you.
They really need to pause dungeon timers for CSs. I had to skip the story because people were bitching about not getting through in time. The other problem is not all cutscenes are showing up for reviewing. I don't know whether this is intentional but it's aggravating that I can't watch the last boss go ape all over everything. As it stands I get to watch someone else's youtube video.
Notification of amount of sold items on all retainers near mail icon. I think this would be quite useful.
Increase mail text limit. 200 chars. Too small imo.
Also, "Focus Target" text on Focus Target bar overlaps with action bar of target making it close to impossible to see name of action and its progress.
I can't agree more on the Tab targetting point. It's currently all wrong or the developer guy have never played an MMO to know why we want to press Tab.
What do you think of a mobile retainer ringing bell? It could be an item with a 2 hour or 3hour CD.
Totally in agreement with this. Some of the earrings and necklaces (all of the necklaces really) just don't fit with alot of the gear. Sporting all the Blacksmith armor and trying to rock a gaudy gold necklace at the same time really isn't working for me. Lol.
NAMES
- Option to toggle nameplates for as NPCs, Players, pets, enemies, group, raid, and All.
- Use a contrasting colored nameplate for people in your group and raiding party vs other players. At present your group party members will have a slightly different shade of blue compared to other players. This is hardly detectable. We need a different color, or let us choose the colors we want to use.
FRIEND LIST
- Let us add notes to our friend list as well, so we can jot down crafting orders or make references to good grouping experiences with them
CHAT
- More tabs please. I like to easily view a LS log without having to filter through my other LS's.
- Would love an ability to link items in chat.
VENDOR
- Allow us to sort vendor list by price, item name, item type as well. It's just easier when things are organized.
MISC
- a small timer on the UI for the chocobo minion
- Allow us to reset Chocobo SPs in some way, playing with a tank chocobo may be good if you are playing as a healer or a dps but when you switch to a tank job it becomes pointless, also better enmity generation for it.
Chocobo changing specializations should go hand to hand with our aiblity to change job on the go, it's not fair in a good MMO to have one (wrong?) choice made ruining something without a way to revert it back, even something like an expensive item similar to the Keeper's Hymn would work.
It's a nice boon that they allowed localized settings however they aren't very clear what data relates to what character and thus when importing/exporting to other computers or new installations, it can be a sore trial and error that sometimes still won't work.
A server side option would give you the chance to swap things around a little bit more conveniently and accurately.
Yes, would be super nice if we could change the inventory window layout and adjust it's size.
The 'collections' vault and system in Guild Wars 2 is probably the best ever done in a MMO. FFXIV is in sore need of something similar - even if just the way the system works for a one click 'desposite collectibles' option to get them out of the way nice and quickly.
Either way some management is definitely needed. I want a tackle box for my fishing bait/lures; storage barrels for food and ingredients; pouch bag for potions; logging ropes and wheel barrels for wood/metal etcetc. They could get pretty creative with this and allow us to move more freely with stuff we find so we can stay out in the world and adventure more.
Agreed. I did request this some months ago - they need to unlock the gamepad button remap limitations. Similar to your locking problem, I often go into an auto run when in combat because I hit L1 to switch targets.
This happens with Hyur bangs - they get tucked up under hats.
One thing I wouldn't mind seeing is automatically using Gysahl Greens once the 30 mins is up (although I do not see much point even having a timer at all for Chocobos but sure there is a reason somewhere) so that we do not have to keep re-summoning them. So basically they keep using them every 30 mins until you use withdraw.
the bit you quoted me on was more for the crafting where other players stand on top of you while your crafting and getting a rear or front end shoved in your face via the monitor lol.I know they are looking to add more bells and market boards to maybe ease some of the overcrowding but the market area's will always be a very very busy area and that is where I find it near enough impossible sometimes to click the bell.
Right click character in chat window -> Search Info. You can invite them to a party that way, but not find out anything about them - you have to go via the player search UI. Unless I'm missing something.
This has probably been suggested but can items stack in a flat 100?
Yes Armoury Chest and Inventory need more Space, I think it would be nice to do "quest" to obtain unlock more space or "purchase from NPC" to additional slot. I hate rid off those binding gears/ weapon because I may need them later for new classes/jobs to use it.
Or other hand they should add "Moogle cavilar" during your journey instead go back to Cities to use summoning bell.
I know it's already been mentioned but, A Free Company Chest Log should be added. Being able to see who donated money and who deposited and withdrew money seems pretty important for any Free Company
Could we get the servers region locked to try and help control gold spammers, you could region lock na/eu/jp then have some servers unlocked for the ones who don't mind dealing with the frustration of gold sellers. In other words Square you really need to get some kind of control on the gold sellers, its crazy and only going to drive away your customers/players. You cant fully stop it we understand, but this is just out of control and needs at least a response that your looking in to ways of dealing with them.

I'd like to see the linkshell capacity raised considerably. Right now it's just rediculous. I've had to remake the one I lead once already to make a placebo fix. 300 is what most games that cap things like that aim for. Make it a buyable upgrade or something... just please get it fixed.

Why are fate mobs not at the very top of the display priority? I don't care if people that aren't in my party vanish from my screen, having fate mobs disappear is totally unacceptable.
I'm looking at you, Odin... or I was, until you disappeared after 2 seconds. Half the server was there and we wiped because nobody could target, but this happens all the time on lesser fates as well.
I am not sure if this has been mentioned but PLEASE put gear list labels on gear in my armory bag. So, an item would display what set it is apart of because I'm trying to clean out my armory only to sell an item that was apart of my lower level class set. In addition, when I hover over quests on my map please have it show the level.
It would be nice if there were fieldcraft leves available at all towns/cities, not one in particular. As it stands for mining currently:
Mining 1-15 leves: Ul'dah
Mining 15 leves: Camp Drybone
Mining 20-25 leves: Quarrymill
Mining 30 leves: Costa Del Sol
Mining 35 leves: Observatorium Camp, Coerthas
Mining 40 leves: Whitebrim Front, Coerthas
Mining 45 leves: (Unconfirmed) Coinach's Find, Mor Dhona.
It would be nice if we could get a leve in Uldah or La Noscea isntead of say, Quarrymill only for level 25 Mining. 1.x had this, not quite sure why it was removed.
Where it concerns crafting.
-Make it so that once you use up NQ materials, it will automatically choose HQ materials so that you can continue crafting (or give us an option to enable-disable that function for those that don't want that).
Current the way crafting is, you have to manually keep selecting HQ materials to us in a craft once NQ is done, this is very cumbersome especially when using a game-pad and you have to keep going up and over to select the number of HQ items. When you are making more than 50 items this can become very frustrating. We need a way to enable or disable auto HQ materials for craft.
Please add hunting logs for each dungeon, That gives a dungeon specific equipment item upon completing the hunting log.
How about we get rid of gil spammers before we worry about hair...
things id like to see..
1. mayb add a bag only for materials harvested for each gathering class since space is extremely limited considering all the different mats harvestable/dropped
2. warehouse/inventory sorting and increased space mainly for point 1 lol
3. change bards limitbreak please.. since quite often duty finder parties up 2 bards a healer n a tank so the lb feature is pointless for those parties ;/
4. make teleporting free sicne for the provisioning n supplying missions its to far to walk just to collect 10 items then gotta run 5 maps just to catch airship
I only have a couple small requests
1) Allow us to use a mount with the chocobo companion out. Either make the chocobo companion disappear temporarily (like entering a city) or have it run along behind.
2) Have tab targetting also able to use the base of large monsters. If I'm right up next to a large monster, sometimes I can't tab target it without zooming out far enough to see the center of the monster. Even happens when I'm standing right next to it.
I'm finding as more players reach lvl 50, they are pushed towards lvling alternative classes through fate groups, this is a great method of easy leveling no doubt, but as the population of fate-grinding players increases in one area, the process of rendering entities on-screen becomes slowed almost to a halt. (more prominently in Ps3 users.) one could imagine how difficult this makes gameplay for ps3 alts.
as a suggestion, other sources of quick xp could be implemented (perhaps a respectable xp reward when finishing dungeons or raids. [not too far off from the guild hest system])
^ or other incentives to make lvling an alt a more pleasent experience.
The entire guild interface needs updated to allow for sorting people in the guild window by factors like name, rank, level, class, etc. Also It would be nice if certain achievements were broadcast to your guildmates in guild chat. Along those same lines, how about the ability to link achievements and items into chat to easily show what we are working on/need....etc.

As a tank, it would make my life much easier if the enemy list would display the signs attributed to mobs ("1", "2", "O", "X", etc.)
I use that list to quickly target mobs and watch my aggro, however when mobs have the same name it's somewhat a bit tedious to know which is which (I must select one, look at the scene to see which one is selected and so on). Typically when a mob goes on my healer, I can see it's #2 for instance, but selecting that specific mob from the list is a bit hard if several are in the same configuration (same name, not aggro'ed by me). It's typically in these emergency situations that a fast way to link a mob on the field to the ones in the list that would make said list an invaluable tool. (on a side-related note, I've been wanting such a list in all MMOs, and I'm so glad FF XIV did it! this suggestion would just be icing on the cake).
I want this really bad sorry I have sch and smn leveled but i hate it when everyone feels to have their pet out 100% of the time it's not nnecessary and adds lag as well I hate the minions like absolutely hate them I think they are tacky worthless and waste of server space please add a filter to atleast disable rendering of minions if you wish, because it causes me lag and they look silly.
One of the bigger things I can think to change is the Chocobo companion functionality. As if stands now the whole system is just too clunky. In this game we are constantly mounting and dismounting, going from one location to the next. Having to repeatedly push 3 separate buttons each time you dismount , summon your chocobo for a fight, then dismiss and press mount again, is just too much of a hassle for not only myself but most folks as well. Which is why most ppl I see don't even bother to use this feature. Take some hints from Star Wars: The Old Republic. The companion in that game was able to be auto summoned / dismissed based on party size. Also simply hitting the mount button should automatically dismiss your companion/ chocobo and cause your char to then mount him as normal.
Yes I know there are guild hests and leve quests however if your leveling up multiple jobs you'd quickly burn through your leve quests. There needs to be another option for a game where you can be each job, than the standard "One and done" line of quests.
