It will hit the tank as well.

Who knows? With the weekly resets, that could have become a mechanic. Can something be done differently in Turn 3?
Now I haven't set foot in Turn 5 myself, but I figure you're at a point where there is no harm in putting out ideas on the slight off-chance they haven't been tried.
There are three other dragons when the fight starts. Have people tried not killing them to see if they interact with any of the later mechanics, such as Twister?
I'm guessing SOMEONE has, but who knows...
100% of FC just race to the bottom of Turn 3 after the first week of doing it and finding no loot. I would find it quite comical if the solution was there.
Guys just... Random thought, i've no place here as i'm not even on turn 1 (friend of mine's on turn 5, tho)
But couldn't the Twister be... A point of the fight you're not supposed to reach at all? Like the explosions on turn 4? A kind of enrage timer?
Ya sure if entire groups with an average ilvl of 80+ are having an enrage issue where the twisters are the enrage then they all just suck that much. No it is an intended mechanic of the encounter and begin as soon as the phase starts because they are the majority of the phase. Please unless you have seen the fight do not try and put in input that has been considered many times already and is not the case.
Ugh, I feel stupid even suggesting this.
Have y'all tried stacking in Neurolink for Twisters?
Have you tried /kneeling? (joking)
Maybe it's an instant kill if you're ABOVE a certain % of your max HP? (serious)
Patch added a new mechanic to Twintania. She now randomly 90k's party members.
I don't understand this attitude, why is it such a big deal if random people just throw suggestions out there?
As someone said, it's worth it if by some off-chance one suggestion haven't been tried yet. There's no reason to lash out on people for just trying to help with good intentions.
Yeah but still not a reason to lash out on people for just wanting to help :)
I'm sure it's a little fun for people that haven't advanced that far to think of the craziest possible idea on how to beat it, they don't have a group that can do it here instead.
Nobody is forcing them to attempt the suggestions. If people think this is an AV case, they probably don't even attempt fighting her.
I do understand some of these people are probably newer to mmos or raiding, my intent wasn't to say that any suggestion was for nothing. It's just for a boss like this and the kind of groups going against it from the start, if there was somehow a suggestion that could be said that higher end groups haven't use and could get a kill then this games "hardcore" are anything but.
Suggestions are welcome but if these better groups are anything they say they are then they have tried everything within the limits of the game to try and down this fight or pass this phase. There is nothing more than a severe lag issue with this mechanic(that may or may not be intended to gate a kill). If it was a datacenter location problem and the distance ping preventing moving out of these then that would be one thing(and would be entirely on square with their datacenter locations). But there are Japanese groups that are on this even and are having the exact same issues and they are literally sitting right ontop of their datacenter making it so they get an almost not existant difference in ping due to distance with what square would be getting(ofcourse it could also have something to do with the majority of Japanese 14 players are playing the game on ps3 because they hate Microsoft and what it stands for and for whatever reason favor console mmos far more than pc).
Well they definitely noticed that issue fast enough and this time they seem to want to take it down indefinitely until the exploit(and maybe twister bug) are actually fixed. So in other words "please look forward to 2.1 where we will be bringing back turn 5".

Brb slashing my wrists.
Have a great week, everyone!
Yay, againg doing nothing the rest of the week -.-"
Do you think the twister bug and this bug are related? o.o
I doubt it. They're just trying to fix the exploit people were using to kill her before.
I'm sure they managed to adjust the glitch a little and still get it to work, hence why SE is taking it down again.
Is this legit or just made up?

Meracydia is a place somewhere in Eorzea that believes heavily in voodoo and the Scourges have some voodoo-istic qualities when you kill them together; you have to kill the adds at the same time with them being the furthest possible distance away from each other (which actually isn't really that far, but just to be safe) this seems to increase the cast time of a special skill later in the fight.
soaking fireballs and giving Twintania stacks of waxen flesh during P2 increases the damage ceiling, size and knockback effects of individual twisters. the less stacks of waxen flesh Twintania recieves, twisters will no longer instagib and instead, deal real damage without the deathly knockbacks and knockups.
the Hygeia's damage debuff can be applied to Twintania to burn through P4 (twisters) as soon as possible as the positioning to safely dodge twisters is so wonky as to not get knocked into a wall or in front of Twintania, especially with a Dreadknight on the prowl. Asclepius doesn't seem to alter any mechanics.
at 25% Twintania loses her Slow debuff as the final chain breaks from her. at 10% Twintania splits into two and begins casting Mind Blast which will also instagib unless it's 3 targets, who are marked, are standing in their own Neurolink. This will never be cast on a tank. the placement of the third Neurolink is as important as the first two as this phase is also a DPS race as she counts down to Giga Flare, which seems to have a timer of 2 minutes when all Scourges are killed at the same time, far apart and 25-35 seconds without. Death Sentence is great fun on two tanks at the same time :/
good luck!
^ Still doesn't explain the Twister mechanic. It doesn't even do damage, just kills you. At least Odin's skill did 99999 damage.
It is the same bug that was going on before with the rooting of Tania before any real mechanics begin. Therefore, im afraid Twister will not be addressed yet again. I dont understand the coding and why this happens under the circumstances but it seems like a pretty simple fix imo. I dont really wanna give away on these forums what causes the bug but its easily repeatable but should be an even easier fix. :/
My impression is they just didn't test their fix properly. After 5 seconds of initiating the original bug they saw Twintania was still 'attacking' and said "Yep! That's fixed!" and called it a day.
What about a burn strategy where you skip the phase? Is there any way to ramp up dps on her to skip this phase or come close with LB etc? Maybe a full burn party setup 1 tank max dps, max output gear swaps etc with potions? Can anyone comment on HP% when twister start, possibly end. Has anyone theory crafted how much HP twin has and how much theoretical dmg it would take to kill or bypass phases.
Since we can map out dps so easily I figure someone has to have done video of the fight and figured out these basic parts first. I'm on Turn 5 but only have a few days inside so not at twister yet myself.
I don't really understand how the few addons that out for this (boss percent/ parser) work. But my limited understanding is that they some how read the game files to predict/update an indicator. Does Twitania have to target you to cast twister? If so would it be possible find the boss targeting part of the game files and create an early warning addon for her target changes?
Would that violate the terms of services, I mean you wouldn't be changing the game files just reading them. Maybe it wouldn't even work. But I remember using similar addons in other games.
This game doesn't have a 'destroy the resistances' type thing, does it? By that I mean, as opposed to trying to Silence/Stun/etc, for 3 times before they become temporarily immune to it - that you have to use it a set amount of times until it does affect them.
Just a thought since I imagine the first thing someone would do when they see "Resisted!' is not use it again.
I don't see any way a single tank could survive with the bosses and all 3 adds. Death Sentence would eat them alive. Not to mention even if they did survive the start I am pretty sure you need 2 tanks to soak damage at the end. No DPS would survive a death sentence
Eh, the adds dont really hit that hard and death sentence isnt really a problem early on. I would be more concerned with a single tank tanking Asclepius + the 4 smaller adds than I would be the 3 scourges + Twintania
Read somewhere that producer Yoshida was boasting that by patch 2.1 less than 100 people would beat Turn 5. Dismissing wins because 'you didn't do it like we planned it out!' and keeping instance locked for weeks so that no one can even try it out... We're not gonna win the bet like that...
Reminds me of when people beat Absolute Virtue with DRK KC zerg and SE, instead on congratulating everyone, made AV immune to Souleater, 'cause ya did it wrong!
It's really not funny when the trick to winning is "get lucky not getting hit by instant death twenty times in a row".
Between this attitude and rampant duping I feel quite demotivated about playing this game once you get your relic.
I thought he meant interrupt armour; in which case this game hasn't presented a fight which does have it yet. So no, I don't think this game has one.
Edit: An example of interrupt armour would be; boss has 3 stacks of can't be stunned, every-time you stun him he loses a stack, after the 3rd stack is gone the next stun will apply the stun. The mechanic used in GW2 PvE (aka the biggest joke ever).
Requesting someone to fully gear themselves in Wind Res IV materia. Thx.
