Yoshi P's Stance on Pld

We know that the first group to clear A3S with a PLD was Blue Garter, actually, who got World 5th on that fight, and despite their impeccable play they actually would've died to enrage if the game engine could actually handle everyone dying simultaneously, since the enrage cast actually went off. Also PS: fflogs proves that PLD DPS lags behind every other tank based on statistical analysis and averages for every Savage fight, its simple math to say that early progression would've been slower with a PLD than with a DRK because PLD offers either very little (most of Savage) or practically nothing at all (A4S) compared to the other tanks.

Ya it was a troll thread trying to use the annoucment of a livestream event in Japan as supposed "changes" for the PLD. At this point, we just have to wait until the live letter in October for any more information.

If anyone has cleared it within the first few weeks. Please step up and with proof. Until then the burden of proof lays with you. ;)

Until then it's on the plate that PLD hasn't cleared either AS3 or AS4 without hitting enrage, for now there is quite the time span between original release and current time and the fact that each group that did clear it with a PLD where geared so that DPS checks could be made.

There is proof that Pld sucks at the following: Everything except it's O-shi button (Hollow).

What you can summarize from this is that if groups were pressing forward without PLD to begin with and were handling busters to begin with. PLD in it's current state is always going to be sub-optimal in every situation with a slight lead in mitigation that no one cares about and has lost it's main playing card which kept it relevant in the 2.0 series, it's safety.

Edit: If you actually think it's only about the DPS problems, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about and need to go read a bit more on the problems made obviously clear by a lot of top raiders on various forums. Then git gud at the other tanks. ;)

I proposed once to have the WAR start as MT, and we tried it once. WAR DPS dropped, and the WHM's DPS dropped (oh, we had the WHM solo heal and he managed 300-400 DPS in the first 3 minutes at the same time?) We also used Hallowed to take the entire first cleave set on the hand without having to split it. Basically to just have the MT in DPS stance meant someone(or more) lost DPS, MP, or threat was iffy, etc. So in the end we figured it was fine the way it was, I was estimating nearly a 200 DPS gain if we practiced WAR MT, PLD OT at the start, but it really didn't get close to that. (200 DPS x 180 seconds = 36,000 HP or roughly 20 seconds on enrage timer)


Basically the inconsistency wasn't worth it at that time. As soon as we hit a wipe at.... 12,000? boss HP (with our BLM dying) we knew it was doable with what we were doing anyways. Basically we didn't change right away, so we were too deep into the fight to make any major strategy changes that cause multiple people to revaluate thier process in the fight.

Since we used both PLD and MNK in that fight, instead of the other 4 clears that week pre-weapons using DRK+DRG (one used a MNK+DRK i think) we had to be completely optimized in every section of the fight as we were working with a DPS deficit. We cleared right at the enrage yes, for our clear but DRG did the same DPS as MNK back then, also buffed your MCH/BRD, AND also buffed the party (battle litany), and then DRK did more.... well I guess as I said in the other post I don't think those DRK clears did that much more than I did on PLD but anyways... I'd like to say that's the reason we had to optimize so much, is that we were just playing with a shot leg. It's hard to exactly evaluate how well the DPS from each clear was doing, but based on how we were attempting it with an undeniably worse comp, I'd have to wager we had to perform at a higher standard to achieve the same results (ie a clear). Obviously the 4 groups that cleared it before us had spectacular players as well though so its possibly they would have been able to clear it using PLD/MNK also, but maybe just not as quickly as the set ups they switched to.

Will have to wait ya! though I don't see any major changes to PLD, only slight threat buffs. As the same thing will be said, it needs to fit into the story first, viable in raid is like meh its okay :(

Game can't handle 8 players dying at once? Wat.

I would like to see small Potency Buffs to:
- Savage Blade
- Rage of Halone

A bigger buff to:
- Goring Blade

New Effect:
- Shield Oath: Heals every Party Member for 15% of Paladins DMG done


With the new Effect we will get a nice Group Utility that is not overpowered but heal our self for a small amount, as well as the Party.

The servers apply damage from AoEs in the order of nearest to the attack's origin first to farthest from the attack's origin last instead of on all targets in the AoE simultaneously.
