An interesting German speaking GM under the guise of a Raven reporter popped into Ul'dah today and prompted me to check the German side of our forums, I found this:

Now I don't speak any but I see a reply to live letter 3? Can anyone confirm or translate?
Klar! Es gibt auch mehr.
Of course. There's also more.
I've been away camping over Easter, so there is stuff to catch up on. Because it was so extensive... I'm going to be lazy with this one and just post a sum-up of it of things that might be relevant to us.
In my personal opinion, Sasu is in a sort of damage-control mode regarding people getting different levels of service in different countries. It's about lodestone-update delays for German and competition access.
- Typos and mistakes shouldn't happen in our translations, but that's the nature of the beast. They do their best.
- Competitions are restricted to certain countries because of mundane law. For example, Quebec is excluded from North American competitions because of their local law. Likewise, all the various European countries have unique rules and conditions for competitions that have to be worked through. That's why there are region restrictions. That being said, they're looking at more options. (And I personally note that the Garuda comp recently up is all regions, possible due to there being in-game rewards only.)
- If you're not living in the required region for a competition, you can still participate, but are not eligible for prize consideration.
An in-game menu should be standard imho. Being able to change the settings while the game is running outside the game implies game not crashing on alt-tab. While I'm aware they promised it won't come 2.0, I'm a bit skeptic about it.Quote:
We are currently diligently working on the system-configuration for 2.0. We would like to implement either an in-game configuration menu or make it possible to adjust settings from outside the game while the game is running.
Just so people know, my mundane life has taken a turn for the busy recently. I'll be on weekly at best for the next little while. Hopefully that will ease again in the not too distant future.
As usual a few more posts, but nothing we haven't already heard ourselves.
It really is that time of year when I only get on fortnightly... So some of this is after the fact. Pulling out a few key points:
- No new market ward taxes are currently being planned.
- The habit of slow forum avatar and lodestone information updating can be resolved by clearing your browser's cache.
- The Legacy chocobo won't be replacing your current mount, but there is no further info available right now.
- The drop-rates for Inferno totems, Kupo Nut Charms etc will not be changing.
