Dear Healers who don't DPS

2K raid DPS combined is a realistic figure to expect out of your healers on V4S and that is enough to get a clear with sub 50 percentile DPS assuming you can pull off a clean run.

More is absolutely dooable, but it's hard work and requires top notch coordination throughout the team. If the group is used to speed runs and such, 2.5-3k combined is a good number to aim for. For more casual groups, aiming that high is going to cause more problems than it's worth at least until you've got some clears and gear under your belts.

4 DPS doing at least 4k damage each = ~16000
2 Tanks each at least doing 2.5k each = ~5000
Meaning both healers need to hit a minimum of 1.5k DPS each = ~3000

I've seen DPS pull above 5k and tanks go above 3k. I've seen healers go above 3k as well, but the main point I am trying to make is, it IS possible to clear without both healers getting 2.5k RDPS.

I agree with your estimation that 4 dps ahould do about 16k rdps and 2 tanks 5k rdps. However, both healers only need to do 2.5k rdps (including personal dps and raid dps from buffs) because melee LB3s do about 700 dps.

The time spent on dpsing is actually much more than your estimation. In my clear (1s before the hard enrage), both healers spent 75% and 70% of their time dpsing the boss, amounting to 2.1k personal dps. MP shouldn't be an issue if (1) no more than 1 resurrection is needed and (2) casters and ranged dps provide mp appropriately.

Honestly, who cares if healers do or do NOT dps? If you need healer dps to clear content in 4.0 (excluding savage content) -- your dps are absolutely god awful.

In a lot of low synced instances a single basic cure can easily heal 50% or more of a tanks HP.

Who cares about healer dps? Those who wants some fairness. Is it fair for a healer to contribute only the bare minimum -- keeping people alive -- while reaping the same rewards as DPS? Is it okay if a DPS chooses to do non-zero dps by using abilities only 30% of the time or if a tank chooses to do no more than acquiring the highest threat by merely spamming Flash/Unleash? if DPS are expected to press useful buttons whenever they can, then so are healers.

Sure. In that case, give everyone equal responsibility for tanking, healing, and dpsing. Tanks and DPS both get strong heals that they should be using to heal others. DPS and healers both get tanking and mitigation cds and access to provoke that they should be using to help mitigate damage. Tanks and healers get stronger DPS focused moves and mechanics that require them to do DPS. Of course, to keep things balanced, tanks, healers, and DPS are equally capable of dealing damage, healing, and tanking, and all play exactly identical to each other.

Everybody wins!

Either way...
-first- I don't mind throwing out dps as a healer. But I play healer to heal. Not to worry about your dps checks.

BUT.

If SE wants healers to heal... When you get into a party of 4+, they should reduce healers dps potency to nothing. I'm sure they could get it in the system. That would be a good definitive way to say "hey, healers are healers, not dps"
