You can't put in events that require communication and coordination when (almost) everything else in the game caters to facerolling. Maybe if there were more situations where people have to pay attention and be creative, such as events like this one or the presence of support classes, the playerbase overall could benefit from some actual critical thinking/situational awareness and eventually whine less.
I know, it's probably too late to change the overall model now, but hey I got my chance to say it.
