Sell Fantasia on the Mogstation

I can't wait for the name change :)

I was able to change my name during transfers, so like the phials of fantasia the function is already present in the game for the end-user, it's just a matter of implementing them as options in the mogstation.

People change names, races, and servers all the time in MMOs and their bad reputations almost always catch up to them. Things in a game change; people don't.

Im good with a name change if it updates everyone's friendslists and all reference of you to your new name. Name change should be for people who don't like their name, not for people running from a bad rep.

A name change may be of help to people with a bad reputation who wish to change their ways and start fresh, if you look at it at another point.

Should be $60.00 like server transfer was on XI, or more. Changing name/appearance should be a precious commodity and treated as such. If you think otherwise then I'm fearful of what said person is like when the time comes to name their child lol.

I'm totally down with the name changes as well. It's highly likely that the name you picked for your current race would not fit your newly designed/fantasia'd character. My surname of Fuzzypaws would be ridiculous on just about every other race :3

I do think though they would need to make the following possible if they allow name changes:

-Have the character's lodestone page display all aliases used in the past
-Make it so that the friendlist/blacklist updates automatically to show the new names (and also maybe show past names used).

As long as they keep the black list, notify your friends list and keep friends list when name change, then keep it a cool down like every 3 - 6 Months then it wouldn't be a problem.

BTW, the Fantasia item let you changed your gender too. So you know it's gonna happen anyway. It very silly for example you have a male and change to female and your name don't even match your character.

It already states in the in-game FAQ that if/when a player changes their name it is updated in friend/blacklists. This is a non-issue.

GMs gave me the impression that it'll be restored since it was only 12 days since mine was last used. Still awaiting an official response either via email or in-game mail on their investigation. I even spoke to a GM and she kindly asked me which character that I would like my Fantasia restored to! :O

I also don't understand everyones animosity toward name changes. We know the names are changed on black and friends lists, if you're still hung up about the whole reputation thing the odds of running into that person can be slim to none anyway. To those opposed to name changes: You know you can already change your name, right?

All you have to do is create a character on a different server with the name of your main character, then transfer it to that server and you will be prompted to change your name.

One way or another d-bags will be able to name change, might as well let SE profit off of it!

Also: So sick of this "but people might abuse it, so lets ruin it for the people with legitimate needs!" mentality.

There's a huge timer on server transfers though, you have to transfer and wait a long time before you can transfer back, assuming you even want to stay on the same server.

If I wanted to steal my free companies bank, I would just take all the items, delete everyone off my friend list, pop my fantasia and boom. Only people who had me on blist would know who I was.

An easy name change like this is preposterous.

What does this huge timer even matter. "If they even wanted to stick around." is my point exactly. They're going to be reported first off so good luck to them keeping all the stuff they stole and secondly if I stole a bunch of shit the last thing I'm going to do is stick around for the off chance that someone notices it's me with a different name. Your argument simply holds no merit.

You're aware that you can set restrictions per bank tab, right? You're aware that it's the Free Company leader's responsibility to designate access to trustworthy individuals, right? You're aware that stealing items in this matter risks account termination, right? You're aware that even though there are already methods to do what you're afraid of people doing - you're asking SE to screw over innocent players that might have legitimate reasons for name changes such as roleplayers, .....right? GMs told me there was a "10 day limit" so I was wasn't able to do this, which is a real shame. This matters to me more than any loss of an in-game item in the future, each time I was told the same thing "If it wasn't reported 10 days after use, it'll be ignored".

An online handle is what it is, you picked it, you live with it so other people know who you are. If you don't like it, then stick to 4chan. Online identity is an important thing that shouldn't be so easily modified. I can't see your face, so your name is your identification.

Ninja lotting, FC bank stealing, anything to discourage activities like that is more important than some RP player needing to change their name. Having your name be stuck to you forever is an important deterrent. When *some* people are able to become anonymous on the internet they turn into idiots.

My god man you need to get with the times. This is 2013 and we are playing a modern day MMO. NEWS FLASH: This isn't FFXI. Name changes or not you're still going to have inconsiderate dicks that will do as they please. You're proof of this. I can get a name change in real life but you're telling me I can't in a video game because someone might steal your crap? Get over yourself. Stop trying to dictate how people play the damn game. You were probably one of the people that were against jumping because you didn't like to look at it.

Tell you what, the moment you start paying for my subscription is the moment I will let you decide how I play this game. Deal? Until then I will be looking toward to SE giving people the option to change their names. You know why? Because its a fucking video game that I pay for and I can do whatever the fuck I damn well please. If people decide they want to screw over other players so be it, there is always a concequence. With features like vote to kick coming we will see this less and less.

I would also like to point out that SE was hesitant to allow name changes for legacy players because it might wipe friends lists. They managed to pull it all off without repercussions. This goes for the blacklist too. If they allowed race and name changes for legacy players I don't see why the hell not offer them for everyone.

Change name? I don't think SE staffs would like to have an extra job to manage complaints regarding specific character name.
