Final Fantasy is a party-based RPG series. Leves are your solo content. If you want to play a single player game then boot up your PS3 and play one of the other dozen or so FF games because MMOs are NOT single player games.

Actually her analogy is right. You might think its silly of me to compare a video game to sports but technically they are games as well... and well you don't play Football or Basketball to play by yourself. Yes you can throw a football around or shoot hoops but then you are not playing the game of football or basketball, you are doing something similar.
Same goes for MMO's most people/gamers are here to be part of a community like athletes are a part of theirs.
MMORPG = people sharing an online world. Nothing more, nothing less. There should be content available for both solo and party content. MMORPG doesn't mean party all day, nor (edit for spellin) does it mean solo all day, it means share the same world, which is a world that anyone who is online can interact with (secret: in whichever way they choose!).
I gave you 3 irrefutable factual examples from MMORPG games that I play. In EVE you have corporations but there is content you can solo as well. You have options, the more options the better because you pull a wider audience.
edit:
Your second paragraph, I'm not going to comment on speculations..
but yeah i kind of missed it.
In all of those examples the majority of the content is geared towards multiplayer, but yes they do have a nice selection of solo content. That doesn't change the fact that the focus of those MMO's has always been on the multiplayer side. By focus, I mean where the majority of the resources are devoted to. If it was the other way around, as in the focus was on solo play but had a nice selection of multiplayer content (Dragon Quest IX), it would not be called an MMO.
I read those examples, which is why I asked where the main focus was in those games. It was multiplayer, since that is where the majority of the content was.
need details on HD soon.
i have no idea what it can be.
Version 1.0 = Solo content.
Version 2.0 = solo content, too
Did you forget the treasure hunting for DoL? ^^
Chances to find a treasure map during gathering. It sound like a solo content.
But I hope PvP don't be solo content in 2.0 like 1 versus 1, but more party versus party or free company versus free company like in ragnarok online ^^
I don't like 1 versus 1 PvP
