A plea to reconsider Inner Beast changes

Pretty sure you can't actually make HQ X-Potions of Strength, mega appears to be the highest you can get (+61). There have never been any sales of even normal quality x-potions of stats on my server.

I told you exactly what I used to do it. Gryphonskin jewellery melded with TANKING stats. This jewellery is better for TANKING than the fending stuff is, you gain 45 STR 45 DEX and some crit or DET in exchange for about 400hp. I do have a setup with pure VIT jewellery for tanking Twintania, but for everything else, Gryphonskin is better. The Gryphonskin setup gets about 7.9khp in a group with food and the pure VIT setup is about 8.3k. Once I actually get some armour drops (or in 3 week's time), this will easily be 8.5k with Gryphonskin.

3k heals are possible every time you have Berserk up. This is with 8k hitpoints. It wont be every time, but it is often. With Berserk up, I can guarantee 2k, 3k on a crit.

Don't put words in my mouth. I have never said I hit 3.7k regularly, I said it was my current highest heal.

They are in fact not craftable at this time.

Gamemako was throwing out theoretical maximums, so I found the biggest STR pot I could in the libra.

A weaker STR pot means it's just that much less worthwhile if its sole purpose is to boost the IB heal.

Yes and No, depending on what you're fighting and your gear level. For me, this change (Inner Beast specifically, the rest is good) is a straight up nerf on all content that isn't Twintania or a 6+ stack Caduceus, and that is before we factor in Inner Beast critting.

Have you seen my gear? Have you actually looked at it? Just in case you haven't, let me list it for you:

Bravura+1
Warrior's Burgeonet
Warrior's Cuirass
Heavy Darksteel Gauntlets (+12 Parry, +16 crit melded)
Heavy Darklight Plate Belt
Heavy Darklight Flanchard (I have the Warrior's Jackboots, but can't use them due to accuracy issues)
Gryphonskin Choker (10 Vit, 12 Parry, 6 crit melded)
Rose Gold Earscrews (10 Vit, 12 Parry, 6 crit melded)
Gryphonskin Wristbands (10 Vit, 12 Parry melded)
Gryphonskin Ring (10 Vit, 12 Parry Melded)

Aside from the Gryphonskin stuff, which is just a huge time sink really, it just isn't that good. I simply can't get drops from coil. After 8 weeks of clearing up to turn 5, I have seen exactly 1 piece of tanking gear, and it was a ring. There are many tanks with better gear than me, in fact most people's tank ALTS have better gear than my tank main does.

It's much closer if you don't count the STR pots (and you shouldn't count the STR pots).

You stated, and I quote "I hit for 1.8k to 2k without Berserk."

I said, well its obvious you are referring to the heal.
Which means that your regular inner beasts are hitting for 600- 750 each time.
Which they aren't unless, as I stated before, and which you also confirmed, you are utilizing strength based accessories+str pots, which shouldn't be considered because tanks are going for the most vitality as possible.

Simple as that, I do not see where you got the idea that I stated you were hitting 3k regularly, unless you were so caught up in a reply you thought I was referring to a 3k heal.

I am simply stating that, your hard hitting inner beasts are simply not feasible unless you sacrifice significant amounts of HP to do so.

As for the new change, it really isn't a nerf...at all. Its actually quite a buff.
I mean, it lasts for a good amount of time, and you can pop it on demand.
A hit from ADS at around 3 stacks will hit for around 3k or so by itself.
With 20% mitigatio, that is 600 damage negated alone.
At entry gear level, the baseline hit for a bravura +1 is around 1200, so simply on one single hit alone, you've been half as effective as an IB.
When you consider the sheer amount of burst damage that bosses can put out in coil, the inner beast is going to be a significant buff, especially because it is also an indirect boost towards healing which inner beast has absolutely no effect on due to being a percent based absorb.

Yeah, I don't count the STR pots. But just as you can't really count things that aren't always available, you also can't discount them entirely. It seems like most people here always assume worst case, no berserk, no crit, no pots and pure VIT gear.

Worst case Inner Beast is a 1.5k heal. Best case is 3.7k, but I think we can safely say I wont be dumping everything into a single IB. Usually it is Berserk for the first one, and then pot for the second. It wont happen every time, but you absolutely can get a 3k followed by a 2.5k Inner Beast, without using Infuriate.

Assuming the worst case though, 1.5k heal means that in those 6 seconds of DR from the new IB, I'd have to be taking 7.5k damage... which is really only a few encounters. Assuming 3k though, it'd be 15k and that just doesn't happen on ANY encounter.
