Thankfully SE will soon be adding this really nifty ability called Spiritbind so that your mages can...
Wait, it's already in the game.
So our mages can... root themselves in place at every opportunity, rendering them unable to move onto the next targets when they defeat a target? So we're forced to equip it just to heal effectively, because 'proper' MP management hasn't yet been implemented?
Believe me, I know the merits of Spiritbind I just dislike being forced to require it every time I need to cure someone. Thats 2 abilities instead of 1 required, adding to the ability equip points as well as forcing us to spam it on the off-chance we need to heal someone during that time.
Again, I ask you. If this is MP management then why are cures the ONLY spells affected?
i can understand some of your point's . 1
Yes it's a bit high i would say but i like itno more ez mode god mode people now need to learn to manage there mp and so forth.
2,
yes this is annoying as hell but to be fair u get 2 rebirths every 5 mins + raise 2 if used the right way u should alway's be able to raise and be cool unless a major F$$k up it's a small thing really
3. This is ment to be happening once they remove the phi level so time will tell with that
4. please don't take this the wrong way. but dude hear of money sink needed and u dont have to return if you don't want to just time out and return outside or dont die it's fine give people a chance to spend there money on something + i made 200k outside the instacne other day was nice :P thanks people.
5. this is silly it does not need any type of nef or anything it's fine the way it is we my shell has killed him many times one of the first u just need to do it right and no thats not with 4 arc 3 con and tank it can be done with random set up's also as i have done it with others also, we are trying to get server first on last boss only had 1 try's tho we got 35% and damn eye caught a
mage and we was slowly to react got lazy :P. done the quest for all 3 citys now i love it so much it's hard its cool iti felt so good that i killed the orge for the first time when we got it the cheers over vent, That's how it should be you feel super u did a task that was so hard and u all hard to work as a good team :)
6. yes this needs to be tweeked slightly just a bit but thats about all but we do it fine now helps with acr trait and skills and yes ( im a mage ) just needs to be managed u cant be one mage mass healing now u need to swap it out between each other go to red stop next mage
I dont know but me for one i love how 1.18 has come yeah some tweks needed for me i just feel the auto attake needs to be tweeked but other than that i Love it i want to play more now i look forward to coming home and playing
THANK YOU YOSHI P!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. Have someone range attack the first ghost.
2. Have everyone else stay away from the tank.
3. Let tank get aggro. If you followed the previous tip no one but the tank should get hit by the spit.
As soon as you see the ghost disappear, run in and down the ramp. If you don't do it quick enough they'll obviously pop on you.
4. Keep a healer with the tank as you're running down
5. Position
6. Kill.
First off, stop with the mindless insults until you can actually learn English. As to your "points"
1) 8 Cons in a dungeon will wipe easily, but that makes 16 raises, yes.
2) There is no possible way for 1 con to cast Rebirth 10 times in a 60 minute period. Stop lying to make yourself feel better.
3) I'm obviously not brainless since I have been able to shoot down every single one of your comments.
4) "you" and "are" are not joined as "your." They joined as "you're." Is English hard for you?
I'm not sure what your group is doing because mine doesn't have those problems. It seems this thread is divided between people who have a ton of problems and people who don't. Since it's unlikely that some of us have unfair advantages in the game (free cures, 10,000 MP, etc.) I can only assume that the side having issues is doing something wrong.
I suppose you could just stop and regain your MP before pressing forward if a lack of mana is that huge a problem for you.
What I can say is prior to 1.18 I used to watch television while doing leves and would simply spam AoE cure III, all the while barely looking at my PC monitor and could do this pretty much indefinitely until the leve ended. That to me seems more broken than having to be efficient with your mana.
The fact is people have completed this dungeon, using the same mechanics you have. People who have not are progressing further and further in it every day... again... using the same mechanic you have. If your problem is tanks not being able to hold hate, discuss with your group how you can better control enmity. If your problem is a lack of MP, discuss with your group how you can be more efficient. Adapt. Evolve. Progress.
I can't help but think this has more to do with this being more or less the only real content in the game so far. Maybe try the R25 dungeon? It just sounds like people want everything nerfed JUST to the point that they themselves can complete it and complete it immediately... and where does that end? There's always going to be someone worse at the game than you and following this line of thinking we end right back where we started with a game that plays itself. Thanks but no thanks.
I suspect once the game is opened up a little more and there's various things to do for a wide range of skilled and not-so-skilled players, people will be less worried about what someone else is able to do and they're not.
Had 100% of the FFXIV community downed Batraal the first night of 1.18 we would all be here rightly claiming FFXIV is dead and that Yoshi P's vision was a complete failure.
Well it looks like you and the people you roll with need to look at these challenges a lil more seriously, after all they are supposed to be challenging. Your typical zerg strat will now work since the 1.19 patch, that was kinda the point. Remember to learn from your mistakes and dont be afraid to try new things, Knowledge is true power in the world of Erozea. This dungeon is totally achievable, I know this cuz i've completed it and got the Batraall achievement.
shut this stupid thread down already
mm like I said, last night we ran 3 CON, 1THM, 1 MRD, 1 PUG, 2 Arc and almost beat Ogre, but right when he went into "rage mode" (where he starts glowing full time and literally spamming moves) the 2 Arc d/cd so we ended up with nowhere near enough dmg to finish that last 20% of his health..
You can leave at anytime. No one is forcing you to keep coming back and commenting. You've already established your thoughts about me and my group and while they are not welcome, you had every right to state them. Now, you have every right to stay out of my thread =)
English isn't his first language nor is it his only language.
He's also killed Batraal which you haven't even seen yet. I was trying to be constructive when I threw my two cents into this whine thread but that required some restraint on my part considering your attitude since about page 3.
The fact is a lot of people in this thread aren't from Figaro and don't know you from a hole in the wall. I am from Figaro and although I still don't know you from a hole in the wall I do know your linkshell, Magitek Legends.
Back in January people were killing the pre-nerf NM's with 3 or 4 or 5 people. A few THM's were trailblazing the solo. Your LS was fighting them with a full alliance of 15 and used about 9 mages in party (and maybe even more outside?) to AoE cure III bomb hundreds of times a fight until maybe you managed to kill before rage. No BR's, no tactics, no strategy, no nothing. And did you honestly think this sort of mindless spamage was going to carry on into actual game content? You're now surprised you're having issues with a dungeon? If you're surprised, you're the only one. Every competent linkshell on Figaro saw this coming for you months ago and now here you are wanting a nerf.
I have nothing against your LS. I've spoken with some of your members and found many of them very likable and was even going to invite one of your Lalafell to my LS because I thought he was a pretty cool guy. I also believe, generally speaking, that what one man can do another can do, but your LS has been lead into a lot of bad habits that aren't going to produce wins against real and challenging content. I wouldn't have bothered pointing any of this out but since you have such hostility towards anyone who disagrees with your position I thought a reality check was in order.
The short story is this: You're doing it wrong. You've been doing it wrong since launch. It isn't the game, it's you.
You just sat there and lied about my Linkshell. Good job. We've always used BRs and have never brought more than 5 mages to anything. Nice try though. The post that you quoted was not towards you. It was towards someone who has done nothing but "try" to belittle me ever since he came into this thread and almost all of this "claims" have been complete lies. 10 rebirths in a 60 minute period? Impossible. The dude is a blatant liar that does nothing but try and insult those that he sees as lower than himself, yet you still try to defend him with lies as well? I took your constructive post and I actually respected you for not going on a flaming ragefest, which is why I didn't reply to it because it was, for the most part, true, but here you are, trying to belittle me AND my LS. That respect has just gone completely out of the window.
I'm not disrespecting your members. I said I found them likeable and people I find likeable I want to see succeed. What I am saying is that nobody is surprised that you cannot get past Ogre given what we've seen from you. That isn't a knock against the rank and file of Magitek Legends. Again, what one man can do another can do. It is a knock against whoever is organizing your raids, though, and one that wouldn't have been at all necessary if you weren't here with a thread that had 11,000+ views calling for a nerf of the first real content we've seen in FFXIV. A nerf? Really? Way to rain on the FFXIV communities parade, all because you can't bumble your way through a dungeon.
Oh, but whatever shall I do without the respect of The Dubont, OP of an increasingly legendary n00b thread at lodestone.
Breaking my own rule here but whatever.
Stop replying to this thread guys, I know it's hard to resist but it's the only thing that will stop Dubont's trolling.
Every new post discusses the same things that have been said over and over again in the thread. Dubont only OK's a response if it's someone that agrees with him, anyone else is labeled as illiterate, elitist, douchebag, whatever. The man does not listen to reason whatsoever and has to quote every single last person that disagrees with him, reciting the same responses each and every time.
Let it go. Dubont has already labeled himself as the forum's new epic troll, among other things. It's pointless to argue with him anymore as only he is right and anyone that disagrees with him is <insert insult here>.
Since you found it necessary to give my LS member an English lesson let me give you a math lesson...
Chainspell - 300 second recast (5 min) - This is what YG says, I thought it was shorter but I'm not a mage...
Rebirth - who cares recast its too long (you probably cant think outside the box, but look it up if you must know)
60 min in dungeon
60/5 = 12
He did lie, you can actually cast it 12 times if your fast enough, I am sure Guks using some common knowledge realizes you cant possibly die and rebirth within the first second of being in the dungeon. Accounting for cutscenes, wait times for lights you can call it a safe 10. If you cant figure it out from here....
You, fail.
Your inability to wrap your head around this basic concept probably explains your inability to complete the dungeon.
Let me reiterate. I don't have anything against your members, your leaders, your former members, your future members, and all things in between. I like who i've met. I just have an issue with you calling for a nerf and essentially wanting to ruin the game for everyone because you have trouble with it. It isn't something i'm overly worried about but the servers are down and here I am.
There are lots of people who won't complete the dungeon immediately. They're working at it. They're enjoying it and taking a sense of accomplishment out of each inch further they reach with every run. They aren't here demanding it be made easier. What did you want? A glorified leve?
Others are completing the dungeon. You have been given all the tools to complete it, too. Stop your crying.
rebirth is a 30 minute timer. Chainspell->>rebirth->>Rebirth->>wait 30mins. 60/30=2. 2*2=4. 4 Rebirths, with chainspell, in 60 minutes.
please notice that about 10 or so pages ago, I retracted the statement about the dungeon needing a nerf.
1.) I agree with this because... As it is, a minimum of two main healers are needed for something like the ogre. I can hope that there is a "trick" we still haven't learned, but unless you arc steamroll it, the number of casters needed is too high from an MP stand point. They both end that fight with zero MP and doing thing but curing. I believe that as Con is a Whm/Blm set up, they should be borderline if all they do his heal, and should require very good MP conservation and management when nuking as well. While an adjustment is in order, I believe it need only be a minimalistic adjustment to both MP and Hate; I still want it to be risky, but I want that versatility that Con has to offer.
2.) With separate death penalties for each raise, I agree, though I can see how that can still be OP. A minor adjustment to the penalties for weakness on low-level raises is in order.
3.) That is getting addressed already.
4.) I come out of three runs without any gear damaged, and that's with dying. Raise does not cause gear damage - returning when dead does. IMO, this is balanced.
5.) We open this fight in a way that the ogre does not do an AoE, and does not spam it. While I'm sure that others have figured out how to do this as well, we figured it out on our own, so I know other people can as well. When in doubt, search the forums for tactics. Its easy to avoid the opening AoE. In fact, its the easiest part of that fight.
6.) Don't cure 3. Again, using ogre as an example, we did it entirely with cure 1/2 and sac 1/2. In an emergency our con was able to pop a single Cure 3 if need be, but he didn't need to. Again, it comes down to tactics. MAYBE some minor tweaks, but I honestly thing the issue will actually be fixed with the introduction of Jobs, which will have more specialized abilities - hopefully like hate control. I suspect that the dungeons will get easier.
Rest of thread tl;dr
I feel like the levequest sp gained after it has been beaten should yield slightly more SP. Also, I haven't noticed Guardian Favor doing much when used now. Am I wrong in this? Maybe it is just very miniscule.
Someone in one of my LS's went out a few times to test. With full links and a very tight rank range between members, they were getting as much or more SP/hr overall 2*ing and 3* R40s at BW than before patch. However in the R20 and R30 range, even with full links they were getting less SP/HR overall.
Rofl 10 rebirth in 1 hour is possible if you were smart enough...
1) Only a slight reduction. Honestly, I don't have much issues with MP management, but a slight reduction would be welcome. Learn to rest MP when not casting. Start using food. Siphon MP II anyone?
2) Yes, please.
3) Obviously? They have stated numerous times full battle changes will not be implemented until around the end of summer. 1.20 I guess? 1.18 simply brought auto attack.
4) Don't return so often? Or learn to get Dark Matter from CG and use that to get repairs instead of gil.
5) This is a contested topic. Part of me wants to say no, it is fine as is, but "fine as is" means melee DPS is 90% useless and you cannot get to Batraal with enough time remaining. Balancing out ogre would be nice to allow melee DPS in, but a full dungeon nerf, however slight? No.
6) Learn how to tank? We have zero issues.
LOLthisthread. The Dubont's popularity has skyrocketed on Figaro because of this.
So yes, the changes implemented were big. And it was a good thing. Frankly I'm loving the game with more content now and we've seen people constantly online now doing more things on the server. What also makes a good player is the ability to adapt to sudden changes, either gameplay and most definitely game mechanics.
We've been asking YoshiP for months to stop the hand holding and give us content that we'll have to seriously think about. Dungeons are not that hard, just think outside the box. Take a look at placement and reevaluate skills and abilities.... level up more jobs to get more skills! I'm just now getting done my 9th R50 job and #10, 11, 12 coming up close behind. This is also a very similar scenario for the rest of my linkshell. This planning also goes into why we now love the new repair system. I carry mats for arrows for my group that I can make on the spot, and full stacks of Grade 4 and 5 dark matter. Only thing I cant repair is Weaver and Leather which several others can repair.
The enmity issues and hate issues are easily fixable with abilities. If you don't have those abilities then start leveling those jobs up. Before the release of FFXIV it was stated that people will level multiple jobs to get more abilities to make things easier. This is of course an MMO and like all MMO's the sure way to get people to play the longest is to make your player base grind on end for some kind of progress/goal which in this case are those abilities.
Have you actually seen the effects of STR and DEX? If you think they actually do nothing then you need to actually test a bit more. Just because someone tested that HP and MP increases stop at 174 stat points doesn't mean everything else does nothing. I've seen sure differences in STR and DEX and PIE. Its the reason I run dungeons with full STR rings now on Archer.
In my opinion FFXIV needed these kinds of changes to force people to learn and not just cure bomb with no side effect... Who really used chameleon before 1.18 anyways? Enmity management was nonexistent before this patch...
The dungeons are not hard... you and you're linkshell just need to re-evaluate apparently everything.

You guys need to understand, that the devs will make their own work and not what you expect. Some of the players are happy with the changes, because the game is now much more playable. Each class is a lot more challenging to play. Like the game or stop playing, but please stop to spam the forums with your nonsense whining. Nothing changed about the DoM classes but you have to handle with MP now, what the heck is wrong with that?! They cant create a perfect games for all users and what you do will only bring them out of their concept.
just letting you know...the "nonsense whining" is what got Yoshi-P in the job position that he is now. Our "nonsense whining" is what gave us content. Our "nonsense whining" is what is going to bring this game from a 4.0 to a decent 7.5-8.0 Without "whiners" this game would still be in terrible shape.
I've noticed from clearing the r50 raids 10+ times is that the emnity algorithm Is a bit off. For example the enmity on the ogre boss is completely different than Batraal using the same abilities/spells. Doing cure I on the ogre after that tank provokes and taunts should not make a healers hate meter go from nothing to yellow period... Cure II yes, cure I absolutely not and cure III obviously red. I can do a SacIII or a CureIII on Batraal right at the start and it will only be green which should also be adjusted.
It's not balanced, however it's easily possible to kill the bosses. You just need to adapt to the changes. I'll give you a hint on what will help on the Ogre if no one else already said this. If your whole party has contagion.. The THM ability.. Have them all equip it. It will transfer all the enfeebling effects from the ghosts onto the boss weakening him.
So you got enfeebling from contagion. You should also have a true enfeebler/dot caster. That's double enfeebles right there. Also THMs absorb spells/initiation transfers those spells to the tank giving him even more def, eva, acc, atk etc. That's less heals for your healers. May I also suggest you use roaming soul sacIII on your tank right before the portal spawns the boss. That should help a bit I would think.
As for if you were to wipe and run back. I would suggest having the tank run down the right ramp with sacIII on him as well as any type of magic def and physical def buff. He should have his cureIII button ready. As for the rest of your party, they should run down the left ramp with all their buffs. Have one of your casters chainspell stoneskin back to back while the other focus on heals. If you need to use Curaga, I would suggest using soughspeak beforehand. Then just get back into your positions. There's many ways you can do this and trust me it's completely possible but it's best to take competent players.
If you're having a mp management issue. Cast what you need to then go passive, it's not hard. Rinse repeat.
Hope that helps you. Good luck!
The player survey was a strong indicator they already knew in what direction they were taking things. Their questions were very specific and gave the impression that they had already decided on a course but they wanted to know what possibilities within that general scope that the players would like to see.
I'm sure the initial complaints and reviews were a strong push to change the game but, when it comes to the actual specific changes we are now seeing, I agree with Vedis. Yoshi-P already knew exactly where he wanted this game to go.
