was pretty good
problem with the haters not thinking this is a new age mmo is that they have no idea how expansive this game will become. We play on a small....SMALL continent on hydalen. The world is HUGE and we will see so much more added with the coming years but since they get so bored let them go~
Like it!
Tho it sometimes clips the music of the end of an era and a new begining with the music of the AMV. Lately a lot of AMVs have been using that song too.
You didn't make that Se created that its a cutscene to the fall of ffxiv
all you did was paste a song over it.
there is your feedback.
First of all, I said "If you want", I didn't ask for it. Second, AMV = Anime Music Video. Let me be clear; Anime: Is a style of Japanese film and television animation. Do u see cartoon animation there?. Finally, part of what I said was "Here's a link of an AMV that I made" not Here's the link of the music that I composed, and the video that I recorded... I know that u wanna call the attention but... #FAIL
I think that I'm talking with a bot, Admins should add the "number confirmation" before making a post xP.
song from the actual CS clips with your music.
Don't really think this game is a next gen mmo. This mmo is just an amalgamation of features from other mmos with a newer graphics engine.
Truth been told while this game may become huge the way SE is doing it is killing it. 3-4 months for patches, lack of an epic storyline like in ffxi. Too short event quests etc. They truly turning this game into an unfun game. Thats why many people quiting.
i played Linkin park- (In the end over) your vid and it was actually better lol
I preferred that video with the original music over it :).
The audio is heavily clipping and distorting.
- CGI stands for Computer-generated imagery which is the use of 3D computer graphics to create scenes, special effects, animations.
- AMV stands for Anime Music Video which is the use of different clips of anime with musics in the background. AMV are more often than not fan made.
Obviously this wasn't fan made and this is not an anime so this leaves us with one choice.
I'll let you guess who "failed" hard here.
I fail to understand where this "new age to MMORPG" actually is, a bit mesleading for people who don't know FFXIV yet.
Definitely a nice CGI piece you chose for the song (this is not anime). I think the song fits the movie. Too bad we can sometimes hear the original audio pushing through your song at some points. I think it will give it that little more of a professional touch if you'd clean that up.
This thread just turned into another testament of how toxic this comunity is. Not even an amateur fanmade video can be here without people trashing it, not contructive critisism but pure trashing.
He asked for feedback. What are you not allowed to say anything unless it's praising it as the finest piece of cinematography ever made? lol
Are you serious? They are coughing up a HUGE patch every 3 months and you are still complaining? How much work do you think it requires to release a new version? I have no idea what you expect them to do but from my point of view they are working really hard on this game.
Working hard? Maybe. But even if they are, that doesnt mean the work they are producing is good. And rehashing current dungeons to a "HM" version is taking the easy route since most of the work is already done.
They keep taking ideas that could be wonderful and fun and turning them into painful, annoying things that are no fun at all imho.
If FFXIV is the "new era of MMOs".... then I'm scared for the future of MMO's in general, esp if any new ones use FFXIV as a template... <shudder>
Agreed..everyone has to start somewhere, and Katsuki...don't be afraid to post your stuff...most of the time you will get honest feedback...along with the trolls who like to do their thing and tear people down...and also the harsh no holds barred criticism, don't take the harsh criticisms to heart, and don't let the troll deter you from doing what you like, over time you'll get better and better, and once you make a really great AMV you can look back on your earlier stuff with amusement, nostalgia and a little embarrassment.
I don't think that criticizing the developers when they produce sloppy work (as they have these last few patches) equals hating a game. In fact, it's rather the opposite. Without this feedback, SE doesn't know what they are doing wrong and the result is 1.0 that crashed and burned. The people who love the game the most are often the ones who have the harshest criticism. They feel they have a personal stake in the game's success.
Trust me, there are people who don't like the game. They aren't playing it. There's tens of millions of them. They won't help the game improve. They won't offer suggestions and advice. They won't wait and watch the patch notes to see what's coming next. They will be playing the games that they do like, and opening their wallets to those developers. SE's mission is to change their minds, but they can't do that if they don't know what it is about FFXIV those players dislike in the first place.
So, stop trying to chase people off. We all want a better game. There's much room for improvement, even if the game has come a long way.
No but saying something like this -
Certainly makes it seem like the person doesn't like the game.
That and that they attempt to denounce that the team is working hard. That's just disrespectful. Calling the hard mode dungeons rehashes is also a blatant lie too. The hard modes are barely like their normal mode counterparts aside from using the same environment assets because it's supposed to be the same dungeon.
Using the same environment and assets saves them tons of work. AKA, its the easy way out to add content. And thus, my statement holds about them not working so hard. If they were, we'd get entirely new content, not rehashing of old content. Taking the existing dungeon, changing the path and monsters is not what I'd call working hard.
A lot of the work they do is sloppy and poorly implemented (Hunts), and the rest is taking something fun (GW2 Vista's) and making it into something annoying and "unfun" (SE adds weather and time requirements to it and shoves it out the door).
They add new crafting things that are only doable by those who are filthy rich, preventing players without a small fortune from participating. They add nice new swimsuits, then lock them behind ultra rare chances to get, whereas other MMO's make such things easy, and fun to get.
I stand by my comments. SE may be working, but I dont see it as working hard with how much re-use they do of old material, and they certainly dont put out a lot of good content when they keep making every little thing a grind or exclusive to the filthy rich.
Just my opinion... but I hate... HATE that song and I haaaaaaaaate imagine dragons. Anything using imagine dragons instantly leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don't even want to play final fantasy xiv anymore now. QQQQQQQQQQQQQQ
Do you even know how much work and time goes into making a game? If you don't then I don't think you have the right to say that they aren't working hard. You also act as if they aren't adding tons of entirely new content with each patch. Your usage of the word rehash is incorrect as well because the hard modes, as I said before, are barely like their normal mode counterparts aside from some of the scenery.
If you want original content every patch with a lot of depth then you'd have to compromise on the speed at which they release it but then you'd complain that they don't release it fast enough. Your type just can't be pleased.
You're just another person with a total lack of knowledge on how much goes into programming and developing content yet will gladly play the clueless armchair developer. If you're unhappy about the game and you think it lacks quality, feel free to unsubscribe.
Without trudging neck deep into this debate..i'll have to agree with Amused...all i will say is you have to give a little credit to SE, not only to the amount of content they have added to these last patches but also stuff they will be adding in upcoming patches, for example personal housing, and ninja class...how many mmo companies out there would release a new class in a major patch? most of the time they withhold stuff like that for an expansion.
Pretty much all of this because to be honest all dungeons are rehashes of the same dungeon due to its presentation.
Face trash monsters > fight a mini boss > face a second wave of trash monsters > face second mini boss >face a third wave of trash monsters > fight last boss
No dungeon really attempts anything /new/ or breaks away from the copy paste formula. Sure the fight mechanics and story maybe different, but in the end dungeons are more or less a pallet swap change of scenery. As Teirshin said, SE maybe working but this is lazy programming.
For the vistas omg yes. Vistas in GW2. The fun was getting to them and then being treated to an amazing pan CS of the area. It made them fun to do. I gave up on vistas in XIV, I'm sorry but standing for hours waiting for a weather change and the only reward is a lore blurb about the area we already knew.
Double yes on the vanity gear since its something most MMO's give as prizes for things like achievements or just simply bought on a vender. I know SE wanted to try and make crafting at least semi useful but...yeah
Thank you for explaining what "my type" is.
I'd be happier with less patches and better content FYI. You're not a very good mind reader so I'd give up now if I were you.
And I do know what goes into coding, I do it for a living btw, and reusing old code is the quick and easy way out. For a program, its a good use of time, for setting up a dungeon to explore, not so much. If you enjoy the same 5 course meal served with a different gravy and dessert and brought out in a different order, then enjoy. I'd like to see something new on the menu other than.. "HM Dungeon Rehash of the month".
Yes, they do add new content, but a lot of it is not good content is the thing. I'd love to see a hell of a lot less quantity and far more quality, oh, but wait, apparently, "my type" isnt that way... Gods I guess I dont know myself that well! </sarcasm>
In order to stay on topic;
It wasn't bad at all. a little more editing could have been used to be honest though, it honestly felt like I was just watching the "End of an Era" video with a new song slapped over it, which is a pretty typical thing for a beginner video maker, was this your first time? Just curious. Good choice of song though, I rather like Imagine Dragons.
Feedback has to be constructive, moderate and pricise, made for the person to learn or understand their faults and work on them, for example:
Now, what saddens me because the ammout of likes it has:
Is this, pure and absolute 0 critisism, just trashing, testament again, of how toxic this community is. And if you can`t tell the diference, then you are one of the problems with this community.
Yes of course, how could I forget that everyone on the internet is a developer/programmer who knows the inner workings of gaming development ? How silly of me.
I'm sorry but every developer knows a thing called a time constraint and gaming company works on extremely tight time constraints. By the way, a patch being good or bad is a totally subjective matter. Some people think they are good, so people think they are bad. While you're entitled to your opinion on how Square Enix patches should be done, don't forget that there are hundreds of thousands people with an opinion as well and if there is one thing we have learned over the year in MMOs is that if you don't keep people entertain, they go somewhere else and guess what keeps people entertain ? Yes, that's right, content. So Square Enix as to find the correct balance between the speed at which they release content patches to the quality of said patches and so far, for the amount of time Square Enix spends on each patch to the ratio at which they release it, I'd say they are doing a pretty good job.
But hey, keep at thinking that they aren't working hard if it makes you sleep better at night.
