I would say that's matter of opinion, except I want to point out that legendary just means famous. Trying to say he wasn't famous among the ffxi community is incorrect.
You are correct that he wasn't doing things others didn't or couldn't do, but he did show a lot of rdms on how to do it, and is famous aka legendary for that.
He's still better than scrubs that use cheat tools to enhance their movement speed, teleport around and look though walls and then brag about how good they are at soloing. I'd love to see how those "awesome" soloers would do without their cheating. If you cheat you aren't good, you're just a cheater.

If you cheat, how good you might have been before you cheated stops mattering. There's a reason olympic athletes that are caught taking performance-enhancing drugs get their medals stripped and are barred from competing. There's a reason it doesn't matter WHEN they actually took those performance-enhancing drugs. You understand that, right?
