Well, if you all haven't been following the updates that are coming in. Looks like the legendary JP Red Mage Avesta (known for some of the most difficult solos in the game) is getting an item named after him.

Everything is easy once someone else has done it and shown others it's possible, even the devs see that and have made an item to honour him. Won't ever see any items named after you.

It's easy to copy or improve on something, being the first is where the status is. e.g. first shell to beat AV legit > shell that killed it quicker/better.

I mean, he is definitely good, and props to him for showing people what rdm is capable of, but he was never an amazing soloist. Great? Yes. Legendary? Hardly.

I would say that's matter of opinion, except I want to point out that legendary just means famous. Trying to say he wasn't famous among the ffxi community is incorrect.

You are correct that he wasn't doing things others didn't or couldn't do, but he did show a lot of rdms on how to do it, and is famous aka legendary for that.

He's still better than scrubs that use cheat tools to enhance their movement speed, teleport around and look though walls and then brag about how good they are at soloing. I'd love to see how those "awesome" soloers would do without their cheating. If you cheat you aren't good, you're just a cheater.
