    I think they dropped that and had level correlation and int difference to take care of things.

    I will go on the stance on that does not sound right due to the fact high HNMs have high INT vaules. you will have lots of problems trying to evade tank a NM an a C skill evade base, but people had stack gear with bar spells to hit totals up to 320 bar circle to resist/magic evade the hell out of damage.

    about the ffxiv comment, I do not see the relevance, this is not ffxiv, you have gear change and macros here.
