    Really it could be 1 min - 5mins honestly i would take the trade of it being overpowered but on a long recast rather than be underpowered and on a short recast.

    Also i believe the route DRK should go dmg style is massive spike DMG with an average DoT so that we're not trying to be WAR SAM MNK DRG. I mean this way it can work like this....

    Stage 1 Self buffing
    Using Jas and Magic to boost stats and tp

    Stage 2
    Pop large cooldown Jas to do large WS or melee spike dmg in a short period (1sec-30sec)

    Stage 3
    Enfeebling and weaking mob for the party while ur waiting on cooldown (also trying to deal with hate generated)

    I mean sure we can ask to be like WAR MNK or SAM by spaming the same WS over and over but i'd rather DRK be it's own job if ya know what i mean. Also stage 1 and 3 give great room for new magic to be added to DRK maybe even stances too.

    What I suggest to help use soul eater more frequently is give muted soul as a regular job trait. Taken from wiki (Reduces enmity while using Souleater by 10 per merit.) 50 max on enmity reduction. I had only one merit in it at one point. It was useful, pop soul eater and the tank was actualy holding hate. Its been a while and I could be wrong about that, but if it works as I think it does then that alone could really help us out.

    If in fact it does reduce enmity while soul eater is active. We could use it offensivly and defensivly at the same time. Kind of a hate reset.

    For example, We get hate from the tank, stun, weapon bash, or put up dread spikes, then use soul eater. Muted soul will then reduce our enmity either gradualy, or could make our hate reset instanly, while still doing higher damange while the mob is refocusing on the tank. At the last moment we can ws depending on the hp we have left.

    Counter mesaures for souleater with lack of a healer would be nether void + drain 2, or if hp gets too low drain. Also if SE makes blood weapon (30 secs) becomes a regular job ablity or blood weapon job trait with a x% actvation rate, that would further help us out but probly be overpowered.

    This would make us more of a spike dmg dd, neither void + drain 2, last resort, soul eater, with muted soul doing its thing we could go crazy again and hopefuly put out some impressive dmg numbers.

    Also remove the soul eater reistance on regular mobs (if any have the soul eater buff) and most or some of the nms. Just my 2 cents.

    How about an ability that lets you put all of your hp into your next swing.. and leaves you at 1 hp

    Would be kinda like self destruct i suppose but a JA ^^

    i was thinking along these lines, how about, bonecrusher: takes 90% of your remaining hp and converts it in to dmg added on to your next attack, and if u use a multi hit WS or proc double attack/triple attack it will be added on to each attack that lands.

    The new update kinda hits what i wanted from a tweaked Souleater by making the cost less meaning the DMG reflects the cost.

    I always wanted a Souleater II but with some different numbers. I want it to last longer and have a lower effect. Why not fulltime Souleater like SAM fulltimes Hasso? Like a stance. This way we can do the damage over time instead of spiking it over 1 minute. That way we can keep up HP instead of canceling Souileater after 30sec in some situations.

    Hell even add Dread Spikes II with 2min duration and 25% effectivness.

    Souleater II: duration 30 minutes, and 3-5% effective. Recast 30 seconds. (Melee stance)
    *Souleater II stacks with Souleater I
    Magic Stance: 80% Fast Cast and MP cost reduction, Magic Accuracy/Attack, Potency to Drains etc. Duration 30minutes, Recast 30 seconds. (does not stack with Melee Stance)

    Oh yea: EnDrain would be nice too
