That's not how things work. Dollars from the income of any of SE's products do not get spent directly on the thing that generated those dollars. This is true of any big corporation. It simply goes into their coffers, there is no way for income to go 1 to 1 from where it was spent to where it was earned. It's liike dumping a cup of water into a lake, and then when you go to spend money, scooping a cup of water out of the lake.

This was true from the beginning, before any of SE's future products (from the time of FFXI's release) existed. Companies have to make product, they don't, won't, and can't reinvest every dollar they recieve exactly and only into the project that generated it. It was true back in the day, it's true now, and will always be true. It's true for FFXIV, FFXVI, and everything else they're making right now. FFXIV doesn't keep every dollar they earn on Online Store sales, nor does any other game they make keep every dollar that they earn, however they earn it.

Game teams submit budgets and bean counters approve or disapprove of those budgets. They don't say "here's the $10k you earned from fantasia sales, have fun!" Game team says "we need X amount of money to do XYZ things." and the beancounters say "Yes" or "No." There is no way to divert funds from a specific source to a specific project. Earmarking is something governments do. I suppose technically a corporation could do it, but they're not going to. In order to invest money into the game, they need a good reason- not just money. You have to do a Cost-Benefit Analysis, and determine if the cost of implementing a feature or whatever is worth the benefit you'll get from doing so.

    until they can reply.
    Not going to happen.

I already know how business works, not complicated at all, however I'm direct in investing into FF11 and I believe we should have a saying and if not then I can take my business elsewhere or find something that provides in what I would like in a MMO game, and the forums are for that and to speak directly to them. Sadly, FF11 will not get any updates and we all know the future is to keep it online as much as possible. So, I ask for something simple and maybe for a future remake or maybe a real MMO that does not copy WoW like FF14 for example. I have played MMO's back in 96 and everything from WoW and beyond has been nothing but a fashion show or like a Sims game and I'm not interested in that kind of MMOs, I want an MMO that we are forced to find players to go further and beyond, and my comment is simple, what I don't understand is why complicate things? Why all the negativities? You said you ask these things a decade ago, I'm aware that you post a lot. I don't post much because people love to be negative in just simple things. Why not support my comment instead of being negative about it. And you are not wrong, you are right in what you said and I'm very aware of that business strategy.

I'm not trying to be negative, I'm trying to be realistic. The reality is, the current state of things is that they have just a few people working on the game and they have to request manpower when they want to do more than a routine update. You indicated in your early posts a lack of understanding how business works. If they did add a fantasia (like I said, I'm with you on that and people do want it), they would not send invest every dollar into FFXI, because that's just not how that works, like I said. But the reason I say this, is because we have had certain people posting in the past in an angry fashion because they think their sub dollars are being funneled into FFXIV, which is also not true. They're "funnled" into Square Enix who spends that money on their entire business, not just any one specific project. FFXI did not directly finance FFXIV, nor did any other specific Square Enix project.

In focusing on my alleged negativity, I think you missed the fact that I do support your comment. It is not the first time anyone has asked for this, and for good reason. It's a very popular request and I do wish they would do it. But the ball is in their court. We can't really do anything beyond saying we want it, and in the current state of the game, I'm just being realistic in saying it's not going to happen. I say that because the entire community has been asking for it for years and years, and even before SE's investment into FFXI began to wane. If they didn't do it then, I can't see them doing it now. But again: I'm totally behind everyone that wants this feature, because it should be a thing. I just don't think it's going to happen.

(So, sorry to the 7+ people who can't understand why anyone would be cynical about this, or really any other new feature, happening right now- but it's just reality.)

You make valid points, I can not disagree with you there, because we have all have been let down by SE, and of course the Team is smaller so yes, it maybe complicated for them, but I do hope they can accept a challenge to try.
