I wasn't seriously disputing you. I'm just a little cranky. It's so out of control. It's like doing any actual fighting of your own for XP has turned into a foreign concept. People even think getting to that basic level 30 is too much and are looking for new ways to leech those first 30 levels. Then they rocket up to 99 and are like "I'm so bored. Nobody will invite me to anything! I can't get any gear! Please make it easier to get gear! You should do this to attract new players!" I haven't played a lot of MMORPG, but is it normal to get a playerbase for your video game that is so averse to actually playing it?

If you guys aren't going to balance jobs properly, you at least need to make capacity points accessible to all jobs at something remotely resembling the same rate. I'm encouraged to hear that you intend for capacity points to be earned through actually doing content, rather than horrifying merit-style slogs, but there are still a significant number of jobs that just don't get proper access to content. Increasing capacity point bonuses is good (though please not on equipment... honestly...), but you're also going to be increasing the amount of capacity points we actually need, so I'm not convinced it will help.

I am not happy that certain equipment will only be accessible via job points. 50JP is already going to suck to earn as SMN, though it is doable. Naturally there will be more of this JP gear nonsense in the future, though, so what am I looking at here? 100JP for Su2? 500JP for Su5? 1000JP for Su-make-SMN-not-suck?

Also, I'm still wondering what happened to your statement that job points being light touches for jobs that can be earned at leisure. Making equipment require job points makes them mandatory. That isn't what you promised.

I don't get it. I don't play the job (So I have little knowledge on the job), but recently it got an update to have A+ ratings on it's combat skill. How far behind is the job still? I would have thought to be a very competitive DD role.

PUP really doesn't offer much that other jobs can't do better. I'd probably get invited as DRG over PUP anyday. I'm hoping that the JA delay changes will help though.
I recently jumped servers, so it could also just be that I had a bad experience on Valefor. I didn't want to get into personal reasons for not participating, just that I was echoing Jerbob's sentiment that all jobs need to feel like they can easily access content that gives CPs.

I guess I understand what you are saying. For buffs given to player to also transfer to pets (Minuet, marches, rolls, etc.).

Can't pup wear full DD gear, and just set the automaton on auto-heal mode? I don't really know much about PUP, so this is just an inquiry.

Hate to say it, but it sure seems like that from my experience. In fact, that's one of the main reasons that I'm so drawn to FFXI -- it seems to be one of the few mmorpgs left out there that still gives you long-term goals to shoot for and whatnot. And then there's all this "instant level 90 with a set of somewhat decent gear" bullshit that has permeated quite a few different games, which both confuses and annoys me. Unfortunately though, it seems like there are more players that want that kind of thing than those that don't. FPS mentality, perhaps? *shrug*

To be fair though, I know that hitting max level isn't considered anything in FFXI anymore, but stiill... at least it's not instant with gear. They could give me a hundred level 90s and I'd never use a single one of them.

I feel bad for the off-topicness. ;;
PUP and BST have the tricky task of whether to gear for themselves or help the pet out a bit. Also, you need to make sure you have the right attachments and continuously spam maneuvers so the Soulsoother automaton will do it's job, keeping in mind that it prioritizes the master and itself. Unless you cycle in some water maneuvers so it will pay attention to whoever has hate. But you know, hate bounces around so much ... and the automaton doesn't cast buffs on itself and like any pet can die quickly if you can't get it positioned far back enough (and then if it's too far away it can't heal). At any rate, I wouldn't depend on it as your sole healer/buffer in an endgame situation of high difficulty.
