A few guys in my old LS were talking about a similar but different concept once. Was a "wouldn't it be cool if..." moment but the idea was a Doppelganger / Shapeshifter (sort of similar to your idea), however the idea was to be able to change into different jobs (Kind of like SCH's ability to change between white and black magic) but this would have been much wider base - Limit JA's to having it as a main, however the ability to change from a Nin to a Mnk for certain situations during a fight etc.

But yeah as I said, the concept was a "it would be cool if...." moment.
