I personally think OP isn't talking about Us vs SE. But is Us vs Us. I've been in forums on and off since their launch, and ALL i see are petty fights over non issues. I have my hand in it but that is due to my passionate personality. But for better or worst I meant no insult as I see everyone as an equal and I have no means to judge others. Unless actions prove otherwise. I think we should act most like a community, and less like a japanese anime color gang wars ala Durarara!!!. (good anime) I've seen petty insults over each players playstyle which is utter rediculous.

Anyway just giving my 2 gil. Carry on.

You know, it's entirely possible that you're not the only one on this forum with a passionate personality.

Some forum posters (on this and other forums) are amazingly skilled when it comes to painting a huge target on themselves, and some will take it even further and hand out both weapons and ammo to everybody else. Some players will call out anyone who's posting "information" that's blatantly wrong. Those that then go "whoops my bad, I was wrong" is fine in my book. Those that get all defensive and refuse to listen even after they've been proven wrong, is more often than not asking for it, imo.

I personally only use 2 other FFXI forums, and the forum tone there is no different from here.

You know you can just help instead of hinder. He is right just because other forums are such and such, don't mean this forum can't be better.

Being snide about a past arguement, and done so in away that makes it obviouse you are trying to further it pretty much hinders the improvement. Ever heard the expression "let sleeping dogs lie (sp)" why even bring up such a thing after a year.
So far all i've gotten in thes forums since returning are people wishing to start a fight with me over posts i made A YEAR AGO.
Heck i thought WoW forums was bad, or Aion... but that takes the cake right there.
Honestly i got called a troll for sharing my personal experince and opinion and in no way saying it was fact or shoving it down peoples throats.

I've been pretty pleasent since coming back. Yet a few key people want to drag me down over petty stuff.

Its really not, It just has the illusion of being nicer. Blizzard literally Blows up any post that might include naughty words like "poop" or "Meany Head". ... What I'm trying to say is they're very very strict there. It just seems nicer. Go to any other widely known WoW forum, and it'll be like ever other MMO forum ever in existence O___O

There's plenty of those here, its just drowned under a wave of "ABYSSEA IS DA DEVIL" and "THUR SHEWLD BE A LEVEL CAP ON ABYSSEA" and "GROWNZ OF VALUR SHOULD BE NURFD", oh and "GEAR SWAPPIN IS FOR HACKURZ AND BOTTRZ AND ELITISTS"

Good debate and conversation can only happen if people are willing to listen and learn. Most people here do not. And you can't really blame some of the more informed posters here for getting impatient with a few of the more ... notorious "idiots" (Sorry, Lack of better word) ... posters here.

Plus, i feel this forum is actually very tame all things considered. Its not really that bad... Its not candyland, But its really pretty tame. Moderators do their job if you actually report negative posts.

Rosina, please note that not once did I mention your name in my previous post. I meant exactly what I said - some forum posters are very, very good at drawing negative attention to themselves, both here and on other forums. If you actually took that as a personal attack, that's on you and not me. The only thing I said that was a direct response to you, was this part here:

because it sounded to me like you were making excuses for yourself, saying it's ok for you to get upset on this forum since you have this passionate personality. So I simply pointed out the obvious: other people also have passionate personalities, you're not alone there. Meaning if you believe you're allowed to get upset due to your passionate personality, you have to allow the same thing for others.

Assuming this is implying that everyone who plays that game is immature children. Which is funny, because my raiding guild was primarily made up of people in their 20s all the way to 50s, who had families and children that were likely older than half the people I've come across in FFXI.

Aw, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Since your guild had people over age 20, then the entire game must have people only over age 20 as well. Good point.

One glance at the world chat (? I don't know what it's called ingame) pretty much confirms how many 12 year-olds play that game. Jeuno yells can be similar, but they're not nearly as bad.

You can't really separate the two. SE creates an atmosphere that leads to a great deal of animosity from some players toward them. Other players seek to defend SE from that animosity or see the reasons that animosity exists as a positive. It all kind of just blends together into a big mess. That's why we are where we are.

Honestly, I would bet you that the vast majority of people online who come off acting like 12-year-olds actually are adults.
