As to having an Agree or Disagree button just seems more fitting after all... No, I will not 100% of the time. Sometimes I will look for someone elses post that appeals to me then "LIke" them, That person can more or less not agree with the main OP so meaning it would be an Unlike.
A negative, closed minded person can come into a thread, That doesn't "Like" Said person or topic and comment negatively with their 10 accounts and their buddies. Wonder why "Some" people worry about bashing and slandering its going to happen any which way you look at it. There are people out there that just don't like each other. Poeple also do things for kicks, Just have to look past that and grow up. There is really no reason for Square Enix to show the Like button, That we have now it just looks good.
Examples

I don't know why some do not want a "Disagree" Button maybe their to afraid of not being agreed with and don't like confrontation.
edit: Will be editing this more when I'm sober.. maybe!

Where's the disagree button so I can disagree with the above post?
Oh, the irony.
Generally, liking/agreeing doesn't necessitate a long comment/explanation, that's why the like button is there. If you don't like something, you're going to post why, so a dislike button is not needed.
A dislike button opens the door to bashing and slandering people without breaking forum rules (because you can just dislike all their posts instead of verbally hating on them) and is an extremely bad idea.
I say we change the "Like" button to "Buy this Guy a Beer", and have a system where it bills you and mails a beer to the person.
If you don't understand why Haste is so important, or if you don't think it is:

This is, of course, assuming the devs base any type of decision on such a small portion of the player bases "likes" to begin with.
True, but why even have a "like" button? Why not have a report button that basically does the same thing, specifically for rating up posts containing opinions of things the "reporter" would also like to see added to the game? Stops the childish rate-ups for stupid off-topic things that the devs shouldn't have to waste time looking at like, "I like my coffee black and without sugar."
You know as well as I do, that certain people on this forum could post that one sentence, completely off-topic from anything else in the thread, and there would be someone who hits the like button, just because they think it's funny. I guess my point is that the current system seems fairly useless unless there is also a dislike button, unless the devs are using this to see popular opinions. If that's the only reason, they could easily hide the number of "likes", make it a "report to devs" button so people know it isn't for BS but actually to get the attentions of devs, and devs could have a more accurate portrayal of game-changes people like, verses crap that gets likes for being funny/ganging up/whatever.
