Sadly, I have yet to find anyone at my job who knows about it, and most of my friends / family haven't heard either. They will probably pass this crap, and people won't realize until it's too late.

The governments of the world hates the net (western countries in particular), I'm amazed it's existed the way it is for so long. The ignorance of people in power has let it go on so long I guess.

They already have something vaguely similar in the UK but this is far worse, people will rage when they actually realise what it's going to do to thier day to day surfing experiences. Unless they are so ignorant that they think the errors they get trying to access certain sites are just normal connection problems/problems with the sites.

Writing was on the wall about the internet when it started becoming so popular, what's the point with the gov controlling the news media when people can get around it so easily online, or when big business looses revenue from internet piracy (big business > you).

Pretty scary stuff. Considering how much power it would appear lobbyists/corporations/groups have with lawmaking down south this whole thing could cause a boatload of issues with people. I wish i could say "Glad i'm in Canada and we're pretty laid back and this crap wouldn't happen up here" but i know the US has alot of pull, and usually what happens down there tends to filter up here.

It's a pet peeve of mine when people use titles that have absolutely no information in them and it's much much worse when the body of the post has no info either. I only clicked through because of the comments that followed. Just because this is the interwebs doesn't mean you shouldn't try to communicate well.
