MORE LIKE PLACEBO HUNTER AMIRITE
(srsly though I think SAM/MNK could be a viable tank in this brave new world of multi-hit regular attacks because I don't *think* a multihit is more likely to strip Third Eye but buuuuuuuuuh)

tandava crackows + chocobo jig + animated flourish = prouesse ring
SAM is crap for a "tank" (better than PLD in Abyssea if that makes you feel better) it does less damage than other tank options. MNK works but takes more damage due to no counters.
As to lolTH comment 60% 2 plate ratio say otherwise. Sure not a large enough sample to be conclusive but it was enough when combined with the fact THF tank worked well.
hmm yes fascinating

When you have some jobs where 2 of the 3 mobs for their seals are iron giants, its not really game balance. You think SE would realize this since they like spouting that phrase.
Dunno both BST and DNC have alternatives which are easy to kill and at least on Bismarck constantly see shouts for those NMs (VNM not so much but those camping it are after color change and give away the seals most of the time)
Though Ironclad Sunderer is a joke, Tank + WHM can take it down (this is how I got my plates, well THF/RDM/WHM because I wanted to test RDM), heck it can even be soloed by BLM/RDM/BLU/SCH. Only annoying part is timing Yellow !! on BLU since the other spells can easily be landed while the NM is kited to avoid attacks interrupting proc attempts as someone else mentioned.
Getting a 60% 2 plate drop is more luck than TH.
ITT: FFXI is hard.
Procing on iron giants is only hard if you are stupid,
