    I like the OP's IDea.

    Ya instead of exping from lvl91-99 we should do Job Trials but would be nice to add story elements for each job specific and make them challenging and fun instead of time sink exp grind.

    Even tho its quicker to exp in abyssea, I would enjoy the "1 quest = 1 level up" method for progression.
    As long as the quest has challenge element and story to give it flavor for each specific Job.
    If not for specific job, for all jobs at least.

    I was thinking maybe a 3/3 or 4/4 BCNM style battle field or a 6/6 BCNM style battle field type.

    BUT PLEASE - No farming items to pop or enter the battle fields cause farming is boring and it would kill the fun!! lol

    Also for the new merit point system, you earn merit points by repeating these battle fields that way ppl who want to continue earning the new merit point 2, they can join and help those in the same time who also need the quest to lvl up as well.

    Just please, no farming or "waiting elements", I like to do as many of these I can to lvl and just kick some NM's Butt with a bunch of friends! haha.

    1 game day per quest is going to suck when you want to just do battle fields to exp in.
    Battle fields are going to be super fun if they make it the way I am thinking.

    But here is the Catch:
    Once you ding lvl91, you cannot level up getting exp anymore! The only way to lvl up is to do those specific battle fields! muhaha!

    Limiting wont solve anything.

    Besides, we want the game to have more contents so I like the OP's idea in the new style of progression since it has to do with battle fields. lvling up on specific battle fields will be a lot of fun.

    SE, More challenge elements plz
    Less time sink elements.

    I want to experience more contents! Dont limit the contents. Thank yoU!

    Watch SE implement some kind of system like this but still make you get xp to level as well. Also, I can it now in here on the official forums, "SE, I wanted a challenge but these are new job limit break quests are ridiculously hard, What were you thinking?"

    If you make something very challenging, 95% of the playerbase won't be able to do it.

    If you make something somewhat challenging, you won't weed out the "abyssea noobs" you are worried about in most cases, but you will weed out a hell of a lot of people who levelled "legitimately".

    Bear in mind, if you make something properly challenging, a lot of the people who will be weeded out are those who complain about the "Abyssea noobs", because a large proportion are people who are only good at exping etc. Be careful what you wish for.

    Sounds fun but would completely kick casual players because xp is the only thing they can do. The idea is good for gear grinding, but not all the gear obviously. You could imagine a weekly bcnm against a pretty hard mob then the person that kills the most of him or kills it the fastest would earn a defending ring or another great item (or just a chance at it). At least it would give a reason to farm good gear.

    How about we have it so every level post 90, you have to challenge another player (of equal level and job), the winner raises their level cap for that job by 1, the loser lowers their level cap for that job by 1, to a minimum of 90. That way we know that in general people will be less gimp. Bad players will be stuck at 90, better players will be able to get to 99. Everyone is happy.

    If we got to 99 through quests instead of xping, then we would be cheating! (sarcastic comment for those that haven't bothered to read panthera's posts...yes he really does believe that).


    Seriously though, I do like the idea of something different, I'm just not sure of what it should be and think this isn't quite it. As others said, we shouldn't punish casuals for being casual. And really there is nothing to stop noobs from being noobs. I'd probably look more forward to more interesting and varied content once we hit 99 vs. trying to get 99. Someone did mention in another thread iirc about doing another maat style fight. would be kinda nice. Just not something we have to do every level.
