Although I do feel sorry for OP, and I understand that it is infuriating and that is sucks, like others have said - There's nothing any one here can do about it. If anything, you might have a better shot on one of the other boards rather than General Discussion.

Then again, as others have clearly pointed out - and I for one agree with a lot of them - You had to click "Confirm" multiple times and you failed to read the server's name. Yeah, it sucks, yeah it ain't fun, but let's not pretend that this is SE's fault.
Can SE be more lenient in this? Absolutely. But they also have to draw a line somewhere. Want to know what happens when they make exceptions? People will abuse it, and point towards the case where said exception is. "But they got to bypass..." Is exactly what SE wants to avoid and so they uphold their policy.

Again, I feel for you OP but the simple fact is, SE likely won't budge. There is a reason why you have to click to confirm multiple times and get shown a text to read as well.

Even if you thought the server was right, that's honestly on you. You failed to read the warnings properly, and that's really just it - a mistake. Just let it be a lesson for next time, always double/triple read when you confirm things that you know will impact you.

Truth be told I'm plenty bitter negative and at times nasty [short fuse really] (I'm in a bad mood about not being able to be happy subbing).
I don't know why we can't hope for better.
I just don't think SQX needs us to defend them. We are not attacking (mostly). We are criticising and asking for better. You don't ask you don't get.
I will never understand that mindset (and you see it everywhere) that seems to so 'hate' anyone who dares to say "this could be better". And it's usually the all powerful power monopoly they are defending from the impotent little guy. Like turkeys voting for Christmas. The mind boggles.
If the world had been run their way women still wouldn't have the vote and most of us would still be slaves and fuedal serfs to our overlords.
They enjoy the rewards all around them of a world made better, but shit on anyone who would do the same for tomorrow. I can't understand it.
The devs are obviously strapped for resources. All we can can do ask and let them prioritise.

I think that's SE's fault so many times have they used the excuses like not enough time or lack of resources etc to fix big problems i.e housing or headwear. That when little things like this crop up people shoot it down and come to SE defence, as they dont want their time took away from bigger issues.

I transferred to another DC just before DT but I recall I had to go through multiple confirmation boxes with the location visible, even had to 'lodestone confirm'.

Yea... my stupid brain read Sargatanas when I saw Sagittarius... literally all it comes down to. Worst part is I was an avid FFXI fan and the next patch next week is extremely XI-centric.

It'll be there still once I can come back but yea; really shot myself in the foot here.

So...this isn't a customer support forum. Even if any employees *did* see this they would not action it. You are going to get no assistance here and your topic only exists to fuel people slinging insults back and forth at each other. I suspect you know this, and that result is actually what you're looking for. You need to put in a support ticket. You're going to be told "no, you need to wait 90 days"

I get you made a mistake. Your mistake could have been avoided with the power of reading. Bitching on the forums that you failed to read does nothing for anyone. It is shitty timing. FFXI was my first MMO and I have massive nostalgia for it and I am really looking forward to the patch. Hopefully you figure out a way to make the latency work.

I'd suggest part of the reason for the rather harsh responses is that there's no reason the OP should be trying to solve their unfortunate problem on this board in the first place. There really is no "have to make yourself vulnerable" involved here.

I dunno how much time you've got left to play, but maybe it's still possible to make the best out of a bad situation - Maybe try reaching out to a few people across the ocean, make a few friends! I know it won't help with the latency, but speaking from experience (I have an alt on NA), playing with friends can soften the blow a bit.

If it helps, I'd be more than happy to do a few roulettes with you or some other content that you'd like to do.

After all, it's your choice what to do, but it is possible to turn around a mistake and make the most of it.
