For the pinks, can you please tell me exactly how many "feathers" messages you got that resulted in each color? Did you start from Desert Yellow, go to Salmon Pink, then go from Salmon Pink to Rose Pink, and finally Rose Pink to Coral Pink? This will be a big help. Thank you!

So, are you saying you got 1 new feathers message for the set of 5 valfruits or that you got a new feathers message for each individual valfruit within the set of 5?

Feeding 1 berry @ Lilac Purple gave me Lavender Purple. I assume this a translation error then? There is no dye called Lavender Purple. It's called Lavender Blue as a dye.

On the RGB Scale Lilac Purple is 124 98 98. Lavender Purple (Blue) is 128 120 169, a difference of +4 +22 +71. It also placed took his bird out of the "red dye scale" and place him in the "purple dye scale" as depicted in game. Jyntix also made mention that he got a changing feathers message after feeding the one berry as well.

Since I'm ironically on Lavender Purple with my own bird, I'll feed my bird Pineapples (lightening blue) until I see a message then wait and see if it shifts upwards to Lilac Purple.

It can't be strictly on the existing Dye wheel. I say this because last night after feeding my Chocobo, I resulted in Lilac Purple (Which I don't believe is on the dye wheel, but I'll double check while I'm on lunch). I did NOT record any useful scientific data. Going Forward I will post my exact feeds. I will Screenshot them and upload them to a blog post, and then repost here. (I will likely just edit this post after or while I am on lunch) then tonight / after work, I will edit the same post with the results. I don't think I am going to do 1 step at a time, rather, I am going to feed until I get one Feather Change for each colour (I'm aiming for Black) but I hope it is still useful data.

My History: Got me to Mole Brown

I am Shooting for Soot Black. because of this post:

Got exactly what I wanted first try, a Slate Grey choco ^.^
I fed 21 O'ghomo berries (darken blue), 7 Xelpatol Apples (darken red), and 7 mamook green things (darken green)

I figured that I would keep the ratios, and work towards achieving Grey, and then continue to darken to arrive at black. I noiced Goobue Grey was not available on the Google Doc, so I aimed for slightly less than what they used, before proceeding. This is what I had done:

Start: Desert Yellow
Fed 5 O'ghomo berries (darken blue), 5 Xelpatol Apples (darken red), and 5 mamook Pears (darken green)
(berry, Apple, Pear, Berry, Apple, pear, etc etc)
Feed 10 more Berries, wait 6 hours.
Lilac Purple.
Fed berry, Apple, Pear, berry, Apple, Pear, waited 6 hours.
I got Mole Brown - That is what I'm with as I start being more methodical in my posts.

I have only been using apples so far. Nothing else. It has gone as such (if anyone else is doing apples only and sharing progress every time the feathers change message appears...):

First bunch of apples before I tried started to experiment more precisely: Pumpkin Orange.
Second bunch of apples until I got feathers changing ONCE then waited six hours: Sunset Orange.
Gave him a bunch of more apples until I got feathers changing ONCE, and am waiting for further results. I'm hoping the trend continues to strengthen red and it will be one of the -red- reds, Blood Red etc. Will post.

Others who only use apples could try and see if they also get the same results from Pumpkin -> Sunset with one feathers changing.

You wouldn't happen to remember how many messages you got for the Pumpkin Orange would you? Regardless, it's good to note that it should be possible to go from Pumpkin to Sunset Orange with one message from apple feeding.

I fed him 21 apples, and I think I started getting a feathers message starting at the fourth or third apple. After that I got it every apple. I'm fairly certain that the message will be spammed as long as the chocobo is growing new feathers though, so there's no way for me to tell how many actual color changes occurred from default.

I have a friend who did what you did and got sunset orange, he did it in one sitting.

Not a test by any means, but wanted to record some findings I'm working through with some FC mates of mine!

Waiting on result to see if we can achieve Iris Purple shade, without waiting on a message from in game.

Another FC mate of mine achieved the color he wanted using the previous suggestion from our previous listing of colors. But going to post it here for data gathering sake anyway!

So, the previous list of combinations does sometime work if the RNG is feeling generous! Don't give up hope if you're using the previous thread as well! Going to gather more information!
